A middle-aged man, yet to be identified, in the early morning of Friday took his life in the Enyenkorin area of Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.

The man allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself under the tree along the Ilorin-Eyenkorin highway.

An eyewitness, Alhaji Waheed, disclosed that they found a little paper under the tree with phone numbers belonging to his wife and his brother in Gombe State written on it.

Officers from the Budo Nuhu Division of the Kwara State Police Command immediately visited the scene and have taken the body to the mortuary of the General Hospital, Ilorin.

Efforts to reach the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ejire Adeyemi Toun, in Ilorin on Friday proved abortive.
