NNPC workers are to be blamed because if it works or not theey get paid. With the refineries under Dangote it's get paid as you go.

Yeye old man! As if he is the only former president that is still alive. If you tie maize around your waist, chickens will surely disrespect you.

The fact it couldn’t work during your time doesn’t mean it can’t during someone else’s period.

It was because the government was still paying subsidy then they rejected the offer nothing more, now it has been deregulatted no more subsidy, if by 2years from now this refineries function effectively then they should also remove subsidy for electricity let it be fully deregulated my greatest dream is to see this nation work in my life time
You need to watch a recent interview of Tonye Cole on Channels TV, then you will understand some of the reasons Shell refused to manage the refineries. I pray for the Nigeria of my dreams but.....

The invitation is not intended to disrespect you but to clear your doubts.

Your father is obviously not worthy enough to clean Tinubu's shoe. If the He-goat you called fada hustle when his mate like Tinubu were hustling, your life will not be this miserable. Vent your anger on that useless thing you called fada and not on someone else.

You nailed it, this man should even be in jail if we have a working system.... I don't know how people forgot this man said he was scammed of 16billion dollars of electricity deal. That money is even more than Dangote's NetWorth. I really do not know why this man is still working freely

Exousiang01:
You claimed the refineries won't work.

They were fixed, you still went on air to say it's not true, just because SHELL (the white man) told you years ago that it won't work
Now they say, come and see for yourself, you say na disrespect...

Until MUHAMMADU BUHARI is arrested, tried and jailed, Nigeria will never punish bad behavior further. This is a man that assumed the petroleum minister and spent good 8 years without fixing the refinery. I kept asking myself what is fundamentally wrong with this country and I figure out that it is the impunity upon impunity of the political elites. Obasanjo was factored in the $16 billion electricity scam: case ended, no punishment. GEJ was factored in subsidy scam: case ended, no punishment. Buhari looted the country with an Emefiele accomplices: Emefiele undergoing trial, Buhari exonerate. NIGERIA INDEED IS A CRIME SCENE
There was never $16bn spent on power during Obj. He has asked for you all to provide evidence and none has been provided.
Re: Obasanjo Says Invitation To Inspect The Refineries Is Disrespectful by Tzar(m): 6:30am On Jan 04, 2025
This old man is so full of poop!
You make claims which NNPCL has denied. Now they invite you to come inspect to verify that you were wrong and you are writing an epistle?
Obasanjo like Buhari and Tinubu have all been demystified as clueless narcissists who have nothing to offer. Even all these clowns like Obi and Atiku have nothing to offer, they are all just waiting for their turn to steal from the commonwealth too. Nigeria needs to reevaluate this unholy union!

Baba is a military man and trusted the false words of the cabals as well as Shell. But why did these cabals wait until after dangote started running his? Anyone who has worked in those refineries since 1990 should be sacked.

NNPC as currently structured CAN NOT run the refineries successfully. Mark my words, in a few months, something will go wrong again. I am not happy to say this but it's the way the country is wired. Government of Nigeria can not run any business effectively. The corruption and bureaucracy will eventually kill the business. You think Shell was stupid to reject the offers?
NNPC should not be in a hurry to gloat. They should at least wait for 1 year before formally inviting OBJ on a facility tour.
you are not serious, they are inviting him because he boasted that the refineries would never worked. He should go and clear his doubt

The refinery scam is just to stop supplying dangote crude oil. They crude oil are taken around to refine and brought back. The 300k barrels to dangote have been reduced due to interior motivate.

It’s disrespectful because you felt it’s a mockery of what you could not achieve when you had all the opportunity to do it. Because of greed

Shame!
Bosman17:
We all know how inefficient the NNPC management are but we also know how corrupt Obj is: apparently, the so called $750m deal was with a consortium Obj has a vested interests in, and the sales of the refineries should have been supervised by the office of the VP under the act that established BPE. However, Obj sidelined his then VP (Atiku) and sold a 51% stake in PH refinery for $500m+ when it was at the time valued at $5b. When Yaradua came in to power, he saw the legal consequences brewing and with NUPENG/PENGASSAN threatening strike actions, he withdrew the sales and refunded Dangote!!!

Baba should go and rest with his antics and hypocrisy, he’s as corrupt as most of the people he accuses!!!
Igbokid:
Much ado about nothing . He won’t get more than the open invitation he already got .
God bless Yaradua’s soul for returning Obasanjo’s Dangote’s money .
Nigeria is a crime scene.

Obasanjo is shocked someone else is doing what he thought wasn’t possible .
He should take several seats Abeg

Vision101:
Obasanjo critised in the open and he was given an open invitation to come and inspect. Is there anything called the office of the former president? If the former president doesn't respect himself but always openly criticizing governments that he can easily access privately why should he expect respect and private invitation?

BTW why should OBJ condemn Atiku, Jonathan, Buhari, Tinubu and most likely any other president after him? Is he the only former president?
AntiChristian:
Come see wetin you no fit accomplish! All expenses paid excursion!

Assuming OBJ revived all the refineries in his eight years, he would have been a god now!
Firstcitizen:
Obasanjo is pained. So because Shell, a company known for immoral environmental degradation says they will not be part of an obviously shady deal and his monopolistic client Aliko, was denied Obasanjo became a preacher of the inability of our refineries to ever function.

Well, he should go and see what the lord has done. grin
No mind am.

The egotistic dude always forming elder statesman know he's been reduced to nothing.

He openly criticized the wake-up of the refinery, and in return was given an open invitation for refinery tours.

Now, he's reacting like a chemical combination.

Nonsense!

A very shameless old man who likes to posture himself as the best thing to ever happen to Nigeria while downplaying his successors achievements.

After wasting billions of dollars on the failed refinery and electrification projects, he's surprised others could eventually achieve such, and is constantly trying to rubbish their efforts. Perhaps he could have been able to deliver those projects if he had focused on real governance and not get obsessed with enthroning himself as an emperor through the botched third-term bid.

It's not disrespectful you are only feeling ashamed that you failed to do what you were supposed to do when you had all the means at your disposal to do it. Just look at the way he is making excuses for his failure.
It is quite worrisome how many of you are conveniently ignoring some content in this report by the punch. They have gone to the refinery and are reporting non activities after the last old stock was loaded at the refinery. According to this report, no loading is ongoing in the refineries now. So how are they working? In as much as we want the refineries to work, NNPCL should be more open on their status. What they are doing is more of propaganda than what we want

It is actually disrespecful to Nigerians to pick someone like OBJ to do that inspection, the man who set the pace for corruption.
Where is our $16bn for steady electricity?

Today he is claiming elder statesman, the day I started seeing him with Obi, I understood why Obi said he got certain advice from a mad man.

Yes government are failures in running businesses on Thier own for sure but I think the difference between OBJ's NNPC and NNPCL now is the involvement of partnership with foreign private entities which will not allow failures. Moreso, Dangote as a running private firm will put a challenge to them not to fail. Thier operations might not be smooth at the beginning or up to the expected capacity, but I still believe they will run successfully over time.
