Login to AVITS dashboard and go to support on the menu, create a ticket, select Profile Inquires for the topic , fill the form and upload your new DS-160 form in the attachment section and submit. Wait for 24 hours and your confirmation number will be updated on the appointment, you'll get a response on the ticket letting you know it has been updated. I don't know if the weekend will affect the response time. I did mine yesterday and got a response today.

I asked this question a week ago and nobody replied. I figured it out and I thought to help someone else

Your ois and avits dates have to match. Pick the OIS date that is on your IW letter.

You can change the location of your avits, this will mean rescheduling the appointment. Also remember to change the location on your ds160 form too

Yes it's stated on the appointment confirmation document, in the instructions. It says if your DS160 and appointment don't match, you will not be allowed to interview, and to make corrections, you only have to create a ticket and upload the new DS160 form, I followed that exactly and I got my new DS160 confirmation number updated on the appointment. My appointment confirmation nows shows my new DS160 confirmation number

I just created an account and I can't update my country because it doesn't show any options of countries and I can't update my state or location where I'm looking for appointment either

Well I'm no expert, I just gambled too and I got a response the following day.
What I would advice is:
1. Download your appointment confirmation again from AVITS and see if the DS160 number has changed, they may have worked on it and probably they just didn't reply the ticket.
2. Try closing the ticket and create a new one, because I'm guessing they just started this, because previously all I've been hearing about DS160 update is to just go to the interview with the new one, even when I called the consulate, that was what I was told on the phone. So maybe they just started attending to update requests via tickets.

For this, you can try calling the consulate or the AVITS support line first. My own issue was that my passport expired and I had to fill a new DS160 form with a new passport number.

Please I need your guidiance.

I made the MRV payment at a First Bank brank since December 20, but I have not been able to proceed to schedule an appointment on the AVITS platform. Whenever I enter my amentum number on the bank deposit details page, it tells me "Bank details updated successfully" and takes me back to the page to enter the same details again. I really need to pick a date first, then, hope for a closer date. I have raised tickets to this effect and I was told the issue has been escalated to the Support Desk, yet, no resolution.

Also, I have been following the conversation here but I don't seem to understand something. I chose Lagos when I created my DS-160 form and was making payment. I want to change my location for the visa interview with the hope of being able to get a date that is closer. Is that possible, please? If yes, how do I go about it, please?

You have to change the location on your ds160 form. Check the ds160 website for instructions on how to do this.

You'll need to ask the OIS office how to proceed. I only know that if ur submitting in Lagos your ds160 form should also be carrying Lagos. Same for Abuja OIS

So I think it is more of them trying to physically screen as many applicants as possible. Most of the interviews are quite short and straightforward- except where overstay, birthing without bill payment and other types of infractions have occurred.

I meant that they are denying folks that are eligible for straightforward visa renewal more often these days from the comments on this thread, about four people that did IW got denied visas. Historically, they would have invited these folks for an interview and drilled down to the issues they have before rejecting the application. In these cases it seems they just refused with no interview invitation.

Finally i read someone’s post here in December who mentioned how he sent an email using the V44 - unable to schedule appointment on Avits as Subject to lagosNIV@state.gov (explained my issue and attached some info, DS-160, MRV receipt attached, dob, passport number, reg email, full name). I followed same procedure, sent a mail on 10 Dec, got a reply on 19 December and was booked for 30 Dec 2024 7:15 am)

To get to this drop box, in your Annotation question,please what did you choose for answer (empty, waiver or what)... Because I chose empty fo my mum's own still I did not get drop box

I am experiencing same. I noticed Abuja doesn’t have this issue. I am contemplating using drop box in Abuja.

Try and change your browser, I think the site is up and running now. I have been having similar impression for the past 3 days. This morning, I changed the from Edge to Firefox Mozilla, and it works. Hope this will help others.

My trip is scheduled for Feb 2025.

Have you tried chatting with an agent? Inform them of the several tickets raised and let them know you would appreciate an escalation. Post that, wait to see if resolved before sending another V44 email.

That pretty much sums up what I did: Live chat (several) - V44 (3 emails) - ticket (5, least preferred route as it didn't seem to be helpful).

due to a glitch am also unable to use my old gt receipt. i hv created a ticket on avits and also sent emails to consular abuja, nothing tangible. and my trip is in march. what extra effort did you make b4 they sent you the mail for physical interview?...when was your trip scheduled for?...want to know if they are sending the mails based on nearness of trip...

Yes, your MRV fee will not expire before your scheduled visa interview in May 2025, as long as you scheduled the appointment within the one-year validity period of the fee.

Here’s a breakdown of how it works:

- The MRV fee is valid for one year from the date of payment. Within this period, you must schedule an interview appointment.
- Since you paid in April 2024 and scheduled the appointment before April 2025, your fee remains valid, even if the actual interview date falls beyond the one-year period, for instance even if your interview date is September 2025, the MRV is still valid because you have used it before April 2025 to schedule for interview.

My parents B1/B2 visa for denied in August 2024 (the U.S was still using the CGI portal at this time). Their account got migrated to the new AVITS portal.

Now, I have been trying to apply again for them but this has not been successful yet. On their AVITS portal (please see image attached), I see this "pending appointment request." I cannot create a new appointment despite several attempts with different browsers, clicking 'Pending Appointment Request' only displays an endlessly spinning circle and fails to open a new page.

There is also this appointment cancelled (please see attached image), I did not cancel any appointment and what this means is totally unclear.

I have opened 3 tickets since in the past 2 - 3 weeks and this is still not resolved yet.

Has anyone else experienced similar issues, or can offer guidance on how to resolve this? Please does anyone know what I could be doing wrongly? Or possibly has anyone experienced this issue? Is there some else I can do to resolve this.

Any advice or information would be greatly appreciated.
