Dear Nigerians, do you guys seriously feel comfortable allowing a man who became governors like others but left successfully converting Lagos to his personal fiefdom & purse? Do you know how indebted Lagos became because of this here fellow? Have you guys realized how indebted Lagos became after Asiwaju left? Do you niggas for once ever think about the role Alpha Beta is playing in Lagos, and how no one dare question the Company? Western countries has a reason they protect their countries from people like Asiwaju, like Death, people like him are never ok! But it will culminate in him eating up himself like the Greek legend! Outside politics or drug dealing they have no life, no soul or anything you can say makes him a normal human! Don't think I am attacking him. As i am that kind of person that prefers to watch the actions of a man and judge him based on that`, rather than some shitty documents that would be changed last minute to reflect their true intentions...I think you and no sane person should support Asiwaju Reform to more fraud! If he is so serious about taking Nigeria to a new El Dorado, not that of Lagos, he should first of all, or accompany it forthwith, two other Reforms that makes States feeding the whole Country through Oil & gas to get at least 80% of the oil & gas earnings. This will help Deltan Niger states. He should also, make any reform that targets the Food industry...making sure all food items coming from the North are tax from a Value chain point of view. But I blame the Daura clown! he was busy sending funds to terrorist in Afghanistan and other societal misnormals, and forgot he has a country to rule! But if ASiwaju claims he has more sense than Buhari, he should do the job Buhari failed to do! Reforms in three key sectors will kick start Nigeria on the path to true federations! But illiterate, self-centered regional tribalist will think otherwise. VAT = Value Added Tax. It's simply that extra payment you add when ever you make a purchase for a service or a goods. Most of my companies scattered across the globe pay all sorts of taxes and in some situations get tax refunds and other perks from sane govts. Tax politics. Tax politics is simply a tendency to use tax reforms to foist advantages on your cliques, region or govt. Taxes could be weaponised to make others do your bindings... recently the incoming POTUS threatened BRICS nations to unleashed sanctions as well as 100% tax on their goods & services. He didn't threaten to nuke them because at least three of the BRICS Nations all have their own Nukes fully cocked, primed ready to reciprocate. He simply used TAX...Yes...TAX could be weaponised as a legal license to fvck you and your descendents till Pluto become a planent again. Now baba Emilokan, sensing he might not return to ASO ROCK post 2027, is in a hurry to do something for his family...baba don old. What do you think he is doing going around with bros Seyi? OHH yeaaa...you guys said I be drug bagman...no problem ni, my pikin Seyi no dey do drugs, I will hand over my kingdom to him...you all should serve him. Well, ronus can serve him faaa, nothing concern an Okoro with what happens in ronu enclave..except they bring it out to national mainstraeam. Babab Bulablu has been advised that in other to make Lagos continually attractive to everyone and by large ensure the spread effects gets to other SW region, he should focus more on TAX reforms that would end up as a dagger to the throat of other Region! Is Lagos not a dagger to the throat of other regions with its Monopoly of shipping, even though other regions possessed more economical avenues to make shipping hubs too? Baba Emilokan poisoned charlice is good, but no thanks, keep it for Oduduwanistan. Why? Someone would want to ask!!!! If you takes your taxe reforms so serious because it confers some advantages to you in Lagos, while it is overly disadvantageous to Abia state...why should Abia state still be forced to share the chunk of its huge gas & oil resources with you! Go check all true federations, states get to keep the chunk of their resources, while states that has only population to offer get to use tax and other incentives to sustain their population. To this end, Asiwaju tax reforms that confers unimaginable advantages to Lagos & SW should hold their peace and shelve their reforms. If Asiwaju is keen on effecting reforms. This is what he should do! Reform the food Sector to confer advantage to the Hausa Fulani region. The region can and should foist taxes on every grain of bean or rice grown there and shipped down south, including carrots. This will increase the cost of food, while also putting more money in the farmers hand. The locas with more money, will have more reason to turn against Boko Haram and reclaim their farming region. But the evil, wicked always competing blacks will never want everyone else to grow as they grow! This will put more money on the hands of the North and clearly show them that free money can also be sourced from the North! Recently Lastly, like the terrorist sympathizer DR Isa Patami rightly observed, there is a deep mistrust between a govt led by a man who converted a State in the federation into his private fiefdom and the innocent Nigerians seeking means to survive the calamity same appostle of tax reforms brought! Say No to Asiwaju planned Alpha Beta Pro Max! Lagosians were busy eating Amala and dancing owanmbe while baba Emilokan stole their state from them...ever since, baba no wan leave Lagos alone! |

I'm working on an exposé why the North will never support Asiwaju Tax orishirishi.... And why no sane Nigerian should! I will use three classic examples to illustrate these facts... After making these exposé, Mods from hell can make another ban....it's really in my interest to ban me, as these will make me focus more on my thriving businesses! Losers can focus more on nairaland! Less I forget, the jealous fellow who owns this here nairaland cove, spend more time on X than on the cesspit he built, so why should I, in here? |

The first Classic example of how and why Asiwaju tax bill of concoction should be toss to the toilet will be illustrated using Coca cola! I know a lot of Nigerians are dumb. But after reading my exposé, they will realized what the North saw, and start crying wolf on time! Give it to the Northerners, they're Smart ass good in smelling a coffee, crookedly unfit for human consumption..... |

Now imagine a situation where a conglomerate like Coca cola has nationwide tentacles, with sales spread all over the federation from Daura to Ogbomosho, down to Nnewi.... The sales pour in....sales accompanied with VAT.... Now, here's the crazy thing.... Where will Coca cola pay it's Tax? Sourced from all over the country? Hahahahahaha? Look, respect the Northerners, they've seen through the facade put together by so called Tax reformers, who can not reform brown roofs into Modern roofing! |

Normally, I won't have any issue with someone trying to give himself advantage, but it becomes a huge problem to me & any right thinking person, when the person, this time, Asiwaju, tries to confer undue advantage to himself and his people, while gnawing on the resources and advantage of others! And trying to fool others to believe he means well..... In Igbo we call this type of sense "Nkirika" sense. If Asiwaju is serious about reforming the country, he knows what to do! 4 regions will have their sole advantage also reformed. For clarity: 1. Niger Delta. Either Resource Control, or 80% earning from oil Gas goes to them. What they do with it, isn't anybody's or region's business. After al, despite the high IGR, skull mining is still the highest reason for homicide in that region. 2. North. Place an Agricultural tax on all internal export fron that region. Netherlands, earns more from Agriculture in a year than what Nigeria earns from Oil & Gas in three years. 3. SE. Reform the federation and delist the Executive List of items made for only Federal govt investment. This way, if billionaires from SE decides to minic Japan and build Next Gen Infrastructures in transport, Port facilities etc via Debt Financing..... They should be allowed! 4. SW. Then, Asiwaju can tax what ever he feels like! Zooposki: |

Even offering to invest in my company and fly down to meet me in Stockholm.... Hahahaha. Me and the bitch is still friends till date. There's what you call Spread Effects and Concurrent effects...... Agreed, the present tax laws is outdated....like 100 years behind what you see in the least country in Europe.... But what spread & Concurrent effect is Asiwaju planning on having on a starving population? Like someone said, why reform a section that affects people already complaining about hunger? If he's reforming the shipping industry to attract more. Investors in other lucrative Port zones, it be understandable..... But Asiwaju won't do that... because it's un-advantageous to him & his agenda! StaffofOrayan: |

The North smuggled in the 1999 constitution under unclear terms, now Asiwaju wants to smuggle a tax bill that would be just exactly what the 1999 constitution has become to everyone: A GROSSLY SKEWED DOCUMENT UNFIT TO ADEQUATELY RUN A EUROPEAN STANDARD PIG FARM! Remember...... This my friends, as more countries becomes more nationalistic, a time will come when y'all will realize how stewpid it was allowing drug bagmen to run wild.... |

Key Components of the Tax Reform Bills: 1. Nigeria Tax Bill 2024: This bill seeks to consolidate existing tax laws, providing a comprehensive legal framework for the taxation of incomes, transactions, and instruments. 2. Tax Administration Bill: Aims to streamline tax administration processes, reducing complexities and enhancing efficiency. 3. Nigeria Revenue Service (Establishment) Bill: Proposes the establishment of the Nigeria Revenue Service, intended to replace the Federal Inland Revenue Service, centralizing tax collection and administration. 4. Joint Revenue Board (Establishment) Bill: Seeks to create a tax tribunal and tax ombudsman to address disputes and ensure fairness in the tax system. |

Proposed Changes: Personal Income Tax Adjustments: Individuals earning up to ₦800,000 annually would be exempt from income tax, aiming to reduce the tax burden on low-income earners. Higher income brackets would experience adjusted tax rates to ensure a more equitable system. Value Added Tax (VAT) Revenue Sharing: The proposed formula allocates 60% of VAT revenue to the state where goods and services are consumed, 20% based on population, and 20% equally among all states. |

Here's where conglomerates with nationwide tentacles comes into play! Say Coca cola..... This company takes sales from all over the country, but has its office listed as in Lagos, no be Adamu? Now, if Coca cola files it's Tax or makes remittances for VAT, Biko which state will it remittance it from? Make una understand this bill. Say them give you akara, while them keep suya, fried rice and turkey for them selves.... No mean say them like you or even get your interest for heart! |

100% in agreement! Which tax reform is better than resource control? This will force Kano you mentioned to know that there's no free money from Abuja, thus they either become creative or build a budget according to their IGR? But, wetin I Sabi sef? No be Nigeria again where them ask person for school result, instead of showing results, he go employ 10 SANs.... Moroccoguy: |

If the Free money guaranteed by Oil Gas flowing from Niger Delta and some Igbo States (Imo & Abia) shared every month is reformed, such that 80-90% of it goes to the State according to earnings, most States like Ogun will have a yearly budget of less than 200 billion naira. Na free money & borrow borrow dey make them design any budget them like! Stop calling the North parasites.... leeching on Free money. 60% of States in Nigeria are parasites leeching on Free money too! To mention a few.....Ekiti, Osun, Oyo etc. are all parasites too! |
| Re: Tax Politics, A Weapon Designed In SW: Say No To Asiwaju Alpha Beta Pro Max Plan by Bigkoko(op): 9:02pm On Jan 04, 2025 |
The controversy surrounding Asiwaju's proposed tax reforms can be effectively illustrated using Coca-Cola as an example to show how the reforms may disadvantage northern Nigeria while favoring Lagos and to a lesser extent some Southern states..... These few southern states are designed to be the Cannon fodder during the gba gbos with the north. Don't fall for it. If Asiwaju is sincere to himself, he should reform the Shipping industry so other Southern states can be a shipping hub too! Tax implications using Coca-Cola: The effects in Lagos vs. Northern Nigeria. When Coca-Cola files its VAT returns through its head office in Lagos, all VAT revenue is attributed to Lagos, regardless of where the sales or consumption actually occurred across the country. This practice can result in significant regional imbalances, particularly under the proposed tax reform bill where 60% of VAT revenue is allocated to the state where consumption occurs. This is like hiding in plain sight! Allowing you to forget to look deeper into details, and rightly designed to undo you in the long run! Key Issues with Filing VAT from Lagos Head Office 1. Misrepresentation of Consumption: Sales generated in other states (e.g., Kano, Kaduna, or Maiduguri) are recorded as revenue originating from Lagos since the VAT is filed from the head office. This skews the allocation of VAT revenue, giving Lagos a larger share while denying other states their rightful portion of revenue based on actual consumption. 2. Revenue Loss for Other States: States where Coca-Cola products are consumed miss out on their 60% share of VAT revenue because the filing system attributes the revenue to Lagos. This disproportionately benefits Lagos at the expense of states that also contribute significantly to Coca-Cola’s revenue through consumption. 3. Economic Inequity: States with high sales and consumption of Coca-Cola products but no major corporate offices (common in northern Nigeria) are disadvantaged under the current system. The concentration of corporate headquarters in Lagos centralizes VAT revenue, exacerbating regional disparities. Possible Solutions to Address the Issue 1. Decentralized VAT Filing: Require companies like Coca-Cola to file VAT returns in the states where sales are generated or consumption occurs. This would ensure that VAT revenue is accurately allocated based on the geographic distribution of sales. 2. Clear Consumption Reporting: Implement a system where companies report sales and VAT collected on a state-by-state basis, allowing for a fair distribution of revenue. 3. Federal Oversight and Redistribution: The federal government could take responsibility for aggregating VAT revenue and redistributing it based on actual consumption data rather than the location of corporate offices. Implications Under the Current System If no changes are made, the practice of attributing all VAT to Lagos due to centralized filing will continue to disproportionately enrich Lagos while depriving other states, particularly those in northern Nigeria, of critical resources needed for development. This underscores the need for a more equitable VAT collection and distribution framework. By the way, most IOCs (International Oil Companies) have their HQ in Lagos even though production is nowhere near Lagos. Guess what? Lagos receives the tax that Delta, Akwa Ibom, Rivers, Abia, Imo, Edo, should have! |

According to Adnan Abdullahi Adam on X, "Even Mr Oyedele was saying this before he start eating": 👇 They know the truth, but long throat for wealth without enterprise and tribalism will never make them stand firm for the Country to move forward! Who is Taiwo Oyedele? He is the Chairman, Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, aptly appointed by Asiwaju

Asiwaju was in Enugu today to commission the following projects: 1. 30 completed Enugu Smart Green Schools out of 260 under construction. 2. 60 equipped Type 2 Primary Healthcare Centres across 260 wards. 3. The Enugu International Conference Centre - a hub for global engagement. 4. 90 newly completed urban roads to ease mobility in our cities, and 5. A state-of-the-art Command and Control Centre with 150 AI-embedded patrol vehicles for enhanced security. This is the same Enugu that went into the abyss of socio-economic degradation and structural abandonment for 8 solid years under the previous, utterly clueless and deluded administration. Peter is barely two years in power! This guy is a living testament to the fact that a people is as blessed or cursed as their leadership. That conference center is a beauty to behold and the delivery time is beyond human comprehension. A five star hotel is also rising. Presidential hotel Enugu is rapidly coming back to life. An International healthcare center is coming. A massive ultramodern bus terminal is coming. Theme Parks and scores of tourist attractions are under construction and work on these projects progress steadily and simultaneously without interruption. Come on! Without unnecessarily blowing his trumpets, I think @PNMbah is a divine compensation for those wasteful years. Indeed, “Tomorrow is here,” not just for Ndi Enugu but for Ala Igbo in general, because Enugu, the de facto capital of the Eastern region is finally open for business. What joy! @Solado ........ aka Prof Oye Nzuzu. No be by parding largely vseless qualifications..... if a trader is delivering, let him lead! Anambra is by far richer and mosre prosperous than Enugu!
