Prof. Imam Mazi Ilyasu Tochukwu Usman Onah on Friday, January 3 delivered his inaugural khutbah (Friday sermon) at the National Mosque Abuja.

Onah, who was appointed Imam of the National Mosque in November, is the first Igbo to be appointed to the exalted position.

Onah, who hails from Ibagwa Aka in Igbo Eze South LGA of Enugu State, is also the first Professor of Arabic in Igboland.

He joins the ranks of the two existing Imams of the National Mosque.
