sparko1:The more the merrier. Competition is good for the market. No room for monopoly anywhere. What I would advice the Tinubu government to do now is to privatise the refineries so they can be run like proper corporate organisations bereft of government civil service attitudes that is the undoing of most public institutions. The govt can retain like 15-20% stake though. MIKOLOWISKA:20% is just the minority. whoever has majority stake runs and determines the affairs of the company |

APC propaganda. Always giving people false hope. Unfortunately for them this time, BUA debunked their claims. |

See Dangote cement, see BUA cement... See Dangote refinery, see BUA refinery... Nigeria is suffering from a dearth of originality of ideas. This perhaps, is why we are in such a sorry state as a nation. |

Whether at 90% or not... We Nigerians are only concerned about the reduction in the cost of PMS, GAS and Kerosene. It not compulsory we sell at the International price when we got our crude here. Apc government should start working on how inflation will be reduced to the minimal not until it is election period. God bless Nigeria |

sparko1:The next keen investment competition I foresee is in the electricity sector the followed by the Agric, healthcare ,Real Estate and Education in that order . I predict starting from mid this year onwards, both local and foreign investments will surge. The economic stability measures are taking effects and industrial players are closely watching. The future outlook is strongly positive. Watch this space. |

ManLikeL:It’s easy to see why some might perceive updates like this as bordering on propaganda, especially when the progress doesn’t align with earlier expectations or rumors in circulation. Companies like BUA, given their significant role in Nigeria’s industrial development, have a responsibility to be crystal clear with the public. Now, they’re saying the refinery isn’t at 90% completion but that things are "progressing steadily" and "on track." The question is, on track to what exactly? Without hard data or specific milestones, such statements can come across as vague reassurance rather than substantive progress. People are naturally skeptical because they’ve seen too many grand projects that are announced with fanfare, hyped for years, and then fall short or vanish altogether. Nigerians have a long history of dealing with unfulfilled promises, especially in critical sectors like energy and infrastructure. The part about "verifying information through official channels" is fair—misinformation can spread quickly. But at the same time, shouldn’t BUA and other big players take extra steps to ensure their communications are proactive and detailed enough to prevent speculation in the first place? False hope only breeds frustration when reality doesn’t meet expectations. The real test will be when this refinery starts delivering the promised barrels of oil daily and strengthens Nigeria’s refining capacity. Until then, it's all about action over words. |

So which percentage completion una dey? Nigeria is re-industrialising, we de-industrialised to be part of the globalization agenda and all our jobs and production was shopped off China. Now as we have access to cheaper fuel and energy, local production will kickoff. Ajaokuta will work, the giants of mighty intellectual prowess are coming. The giants and magnates. |

BabaCommander:What exactly are you insinuating? That because Dangote conceived investment ideas in Cement and Oil, another Nigerian investor can't toe the same paths? |
| Re: BUA Refinery: Management dismisses 90% completion rumors. by Satazaa: 9:58am On Jan 05, 2025 |
BabaCommander:BUA is a copycat businessman but a very smart one at that, though the risk of being copycat is that the originator Dangote would have enjoyed a first mover advantages and would have consolidated before others |
