1) Population/ Landmass/ Geographic location: the three countries have large populations, they are among the ten most populous nations. They also have large land areas. The USA and China are some of the biggest countries by land area while Nigeria is among the biggest in Africa. The more the land, the more it can expand it's military bases, economic facilities, technological facilities,attract new immigrants,spread it's population, cultivate large farmland,invest in agriculture massively,diversify it's economy. The location of the three countries is also a good advantage. The US borders Pacific and Atlantic oceans allowing it to export heavily and dominate the waters. Nigeria has direct access to the Atlantic oceans which gives her nautical influence. China has access to the Pacific which allows her to have several seaports and expand her manufacturing etc

2) Economic/industrial power/ large market: The three countries have large economies. The USA and China are the biggest economies in the world and by virtue of their population have large markets for goods. Nigeria has the biggest or is among the biggest economy in Africa and also has the largest market in Africa. USA and China are the most technologically advanced and savvy nations worldwide. For Nigeria, we possess some of the best scientists in the world who unfortunately are adding value to other countries. USA and China are the most industrialized and manufacturing countries while Nigeria is among the top 5 industrialized countries in Africa...

3) Military power/Regional dominance; the USA and China are among the strongest military powers in the world in terms of size, weaponry and reach although the USA is ahead. Nigeria is a regional military powerhouse in Africa alongside Egypt and south Africa. The USA dominates the Americas while China dominates the Far east region
Additionally, let me add that the three countries have a large educated and literate population which allows them to export their talents and spread their culture,technology and influence.

Areas of failure

While Nigeria has the largest population in Africa, it has failed to take proper advantage of that by educating and investing in human development to harness its large working class population the way USA and China did due to corruption and leadership failure
Nigeria has a large illiterate population...the country has also failed to export its large working class population to other countries to serve it's national interests the way China and USA does. The reward and payment system and working incentives in Nigeria is poor hence the brain deain.Nigeria has failed to take advantage to of its lan area to invest massively in agriculture

Although Nigeria has a large market and a big economy, this is artificial. It hasn't translated to better quality of life of the citizens..

Nigeria have failed to take its place in the world stage is because of misuse of our natural resources, incompetent leaders and corruptions.
From when I was a child I use to read of how many states produce different natural resources like Coal, limestone, gold, iron and many others but we are still struggling because our leaders only use this resources to fuel their own pockets.
Our vast land even supply timber but our leaders still misuse this opportunity.
Even with our Rich resources and everything we are still a very poor country of corruption, insecurities and bad leadership

Those countries are united, Nigeria is divided along ethnic and religious lines.

Those countries have large population and have created jobs to reduce unemployment and poverty. Nigeria has refused to create job opportunities thereby causing unemployment and poverty. Once your citizens are employed, you boost the economy and you can invest in infrastructure, education, agricultural e.t.c.

USA and China has made healthcare available to it's citizens. This is an area where Nigeria has failed woefully. Our politicians travel abroad for treatment is a testament to our bad healthcare. A healthy nation is a wealthy nation.
