Greedy farmers charging excess to extort the masses. Go and eat your chickens nah
I don't think its greed, their own costs have shot up. Anything imported is now doubled in price if you're paying in naira.

I still bought old layers for 8.5k and 2 medium sized goats for 95k this Christmas in abuja.
From observation many Nigerians like wasting money on overpriced goods

Elusive001:
"Families are striving to see how they can get any kind of food for their families, and therefore, the luxury of poultry meat as protein was not a consideration during Christmas and New Year. Poultry farmers who thought of making little profit at Christmas and New Year, are, at the moment, lamenting the losses they incurred."

Ordinary chicken and in fact food generally, have become a luxury in Nigeria. Chai!!!

GOD have mercy ooooooo.

When the wicked rules, the people suffer.
Rest

Nothing like wicked rule here

The farmers were just greedy and inconsiderate

The feeds and drug's didn't increase in December, but all of a sudden an adult broiler jumped from 14k - 20k and from 20k to 25k and then 30k undecided

The way some people overprice some market commodities are really annoying even common day-to-day household needs are unimaginable in Emilokan era in spite of the high inflation sellers should consider how many prospective buyers have the commensurate means.

Nigeria is THE ONLY country on earth where citizens are struggling to eat. Even in Yemen and Afghanistan, people eat better. Think about it: protein is practically out of the reach of most Nigerians at the moment. Egg, meat, fish, milk.....all these are luxury these days. No thanks to the avoidable hardship foisted on Nigerians by our current government.
But the likes of hellanus said the government is doing very well even though hunger wan keeee the clown cheesy grin

Some of you are amusing with your ignorant takes.

You expect a poultry farmer to buy a bag of feed for 24K as against the 4K it sold for within the same period in 2023, and still go ahead to sell a chicken for 8K to you?

Una own na to open mouth waa for Internet dey vomit rubbish!
