Use subsidy removal to know the effect of the bill to the economy. We were told that subsidy removal will benefit the poor masses we have all seen the effect. Only a section of this country support this tax bill because their sense reasoning have been beclouded with tribalism |

No one trusts the words of a notorious narcotics trafficker, certificate forger, and buccaneering power grabber engaging in criminal state capture. After the thoughtless removal of fuel subsidy and other 'bolekaja' economic policies imposed by the Tinubu government, we were told that, though the effects would be painful and short-lived, the benefits would be enormous and would primarily aid poor citizens. Now, nineteen months later, Nigerians have witnessed the greatest hunger and starvation ever inflicted upon them by a government in its history. Now, they are back with a tax reform bill, using the same failed narratives about how it will benefit poor citizens. Some government-paid agents, BATerians, and mandate supporters, many of whom don't even understand what the bill entails, are busy spreading the falsehood that it's a form of restructuring, even though those who worked on and initiated the bill never used that term. |

I don't see the core north agreeing to that bill tinibu might just end up going through the back door by using the supreme court to pass the bill for only the benefit of lagos and rivers states who I understand are already in court. |

KEVIND:President Tinubu's push for tax reforms has sparked significant debate, especially with the northern governors voicing strong opposition to the proposed changes. The key issue seems to be the new system for distributing VAT, which the northern governors argue could disadvantage their region, particularly with the derivation-based approach. While the reforms aim to broaden the tax net and boost government revenue, many in the north feel the measures unfairly benefit wealthier states, particularly in the south. |

If you thing tribalism and propaganda would keep him in aso rock beyond 2027 you'd better awake from your slumber because as it stands now. Only the SW are still supporting him. The north he used to ride into power have left him. |

Instead of restructuring NIgeria politically to end the imbalance in political representation willfully created by northern military dictators, an imbalance weighing against the southern regions through proliferating undue large number of states and political representation in the old Northern region, President Tinubu is ignoring the big elephant in China shop but chasing rat in Tax Reforms. No politician living wailed more than Ahmed Bola Tinubu for political restructuring of Nigeria for about 15 years before 2013. |
