Thanks to substandard materials being used by contractors, in order to save much money in their pocket |

Some landlords use substandard material as if the rent will be cheap. On the other hand, some landlords opt for quality materials but building contractors go for substandard materials just to make money in a greedy way. Wickedness! |

immortalcrown:You need to stand one place so that we can Chanel the thunder very well, and not talking with both sides of the mouth on the subject. We want to know what caused the building to collapse , we need to hold a culprit. Is it the landlord ? seems you have more to say |

InfoGuru118:The statement highlights a serious and recurring issue—building collapses caused by the dangerous mix of inferior materials, poor regulatory oversight, and reckless building practices. Using substandard materials to save costs is not just cutting corners; it’s gambling with human lives. When developers prioritize profit over safety, the consequences are often tragic: lost lives, injuries, and significant financial losses that far outweigh the supposed "savings." Poor regulatory control is another critical factor. If developers can bypass necessary approvals and build without government oversight, it creates a culture where safety standards are ignored. This isn’t just a failure of the builders but also of the system meant to enforce compliance. The lack of value placed on human lives is the most disheartening part. A building collapse is not an accident; it’s a result of deliberate choices made to compromise safety. It’s time for stricter enforcement of building codes, stiffer penalties for violators, and more robust inspection mechanisms. Lives should never be an afterthought. As the commissioner rightly warns, this is no longer acceptable—it’s time for accountability and action to prevent further tragedies. |

Why are people missing the root of the problem is the Commissioner of Urban planning? Why wasn't he stoned ...almost to death...using stones from the rubble? It is so disrespectful and arrogant of him to be present at the scene ....and announce the cause is substandard materials ...including 12mm steel. Four buildings collapsed his watch. Isn't it his responsibility to ensure that buildings under construction meet standard requirements? Doesn't he have the power to stop construction if it doesn't? ... doesn't he have the power to demolish a building if it doesn't? He did not ...and is not doing his job. If he were ...the building would never been up and there would be no collapse. Let's stop blaming the contractors and the building owners and get tonthe root of the problem .... the useless Commissioner who is not carrying out his duties. |

SAD There’s too many sub standard iron rods in the market. Government too should also ensure that Steel manufacturers produce the right size and strength of iron rods. |
