These two things were what kept people watching the show...until it became apparent the writers had no idea what they were doing...

The silly mystery sef ended in a useless reveal...

As far as I am concerned, anyone who thinks The Blacklist is a well written show has low media literacy...

Even the fans of the show admit it's terribly written but they stayed for Raymond...

it's not about liking it or not...for the umpteenth time, if you liked it that's good and fine. It's about facts tho. And facts can't be disputed and it's a fact that it had shitty writing cos the writers either ran out of ideas or didn't even know what they were going for when they started.

I stopped watching the series after Elizabeth was killed, it really pained me.. Anyway I'll be resuming it soon though.. I stopped at season 9, episode 3 or so..

I won’t even lie,when I first heard about the second season of this, I was far from sold. It seemed like a silly cash grab, and the negative press surrounding its release in December deterred me even further. So, imagine my shock when I reluctantly decided to give it a try, only to find myself completely blown away.

Korean shows have consistently impressed me, and this epitomizes that fact. Despite Netflix's best efforts to layer the show with seemingly "woke" elements, the excellent writing and delivery came out on top.

This season is essentially a profound social commentary on the human condition, arguably even more impactful than S1. It revolves entirely around the concept of greed and how "the love of money is the root of all evil"...the backbone of this season's narrative. You can easily pick up life lessons throughout the season. For instance, the Recruiter offered hungry people the choice between bread or a lottery ticket, and they chose the lottery ticket!, forgetting their immediate hunger due to greed. Another example is how democracy might be a flaw cuz when irrational individuals make up the majority, their poor decisions affect everyone, including the rational minority. The contestants were given the power to vote and exit the game at any time, but their greed kept them voting to stay.

One of the standout aspects of this season was the emotional rollercoaster. The characters were so well-written that I found myself deeply caring for the rational ones. And the games? Incredibly intense!.... literally edge of your seat stuff!..., They added a thrilling layer to the narrative, making it even more compelling.

I haven’t seen nearly enough praise for the cinematography, which was outstanding. The arena shots before the games, with their grand scale, and the blood-stained arenas after the games, were visually stunning and added to the tension and beauty of the series.

The show’s popularity is no fluke, it’s genuinely that good. I am a firm believer now 😩..While some people might have issues with this season, by the time I reached Episode 7, I was hooked and yearning for more. I simply cannot wait for Season 3.

When discussions about TV show greats like Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, Attack on Titan, and Money Heist [/i]come up in the future, Best believe, [i]Squid Game will be mentioned in the same discourse. This is pop culture TV history in the making!..... undoubtedly Tv royalty!

Excellent review! It's well-rounded and deeply insightful. They nailed it on the emotional depth, intensity, and the whole greed theme in this season, it is truly a perfect reflection of For the love of money is the root of all evil Your biblical allusion is spot on. As for the woke elements, I agree they weren’t an issue and didn’t overshadow the story, It was just straight to business. It’s an 8 for me though. Season 3 can’t come soon enough!

Seee...i saw so many negative reviews that it was meh and i almost passed it up, only for me to see it, and i low key almost enjoyed it more than S1 sef.

Yeah, the whole thing was just centered on greed, and the love of money, but then again, i can't really blame them, somewhere in pretty sure situation. Like that Baba that was in debt of 10 billion won, which work e wan work to clear that kind gbesè apart from playing Squid Game? 😩😩.

And I think that's why people were saying it's trash. But I understood how desperate he was to try and be the hero and that desperation led him to ruin, and that Front man was there nudging him in that direction all along.

Those people entering the games clearly knew what they were in for, and even signed consent form. The only part i fault the Squid Game organisers is that that didn't state explicitly that "elimination" actually meant topping them for good from this life...they probably thought, elimination meant when they fail a game, they allow them go home 😩💀

Gi Hun is clearly propped up to be the hero of the whole thing, so most likely he will have a big hand in ending the games, come S3.
