Thailand offers various visa options based on the purpose of travel, including Tourist Visas, Special Tourist Visas (STV), Transit Visas, Non-Immigrant Visas, and Diplomatic and Official Visas.

These visas are available for both single and multiple entries, depending on specific conditions.

The Privilege Entry Visa, available exclusively to Thailand Elite members, is excluded from these categories.

The Tourist Visa is for leisure travelers, while the STV caters to long-term tourists. The Transit Visa is for travelers passing through Thailand, and Non-Immigrant Visas are for business, work, or education.

Diplomatic and Official Visas are for government or diplomatic personnel on official duty.

Thailand’s e-Visa system simplifies the application process, helping travelers determine the right visa type for their stay.

Thailand’s e-visa process

The Thai e-Visa initiative is designed to simplify the visa application process, making it more accessible, efficient, and user-friendly.

According to a statement by the Royal Thai Embassy, physical applications will not be accepted, instead, all applications from the eligible countries must be completed online via the embassy’s official website.

The approved African countries include:

* Federal Republic of Nigeria
* Republic of Benin
* Republic of Cameroon
* Republic of Ghana
* Central African Republic
* Republic of the Congo
* Republic of Equatorial Guinea
* Democratic Republic of São Tomé and Príncipe
* Republic of Chad

“The Royal Thai Embassy has the right to cancel the visa applications should the applicants fail to provide the evidence of their presence within the aforementioned countries while applying for the visa.” the statement added

The embassy advised that all travel booking confirmations must be provided upon submission of the visa application.

This includes return flight details showing applicant’s name, departure and return date, all flights en route from the aforementioned countries to Thailand.” the statement added.

The embassy mentioned that visa applications are usually processed within five working days upon receipt, although processing times may be longer in certain cases.

Applicants were also encouraged to submit their visa applications 4 – 6 weeks before their planned travel date, but not more than three months in advance.
Thailand-Africa relationship.

In the early 2010s, Thailand launched the “Look West Policy” to strengthen ties with Africa, with the 2013 Thai-Africa Initiative broadening engagement.

For instance, in 2023, trade between Thailand and Kenya reached $256.16 million, with Thai exports like cars, sugar, and rice totaling $226.82 million, while imports from Kenya, including chemicals and jewelry, were valued at $29.34 million.

Sudan is also a key partner, particularly in education and trade.

Sudan offers 80-100 annual scholarships to Thai-Muslim students, with over 500 currently studying Islam there.

In 2023, Thailand-Sudan trade totaled $23.05 million, covering exports like cars and chemicals and imports such as plants and medical instruments.

This highlights Thailand’s efforts to deepen economic relations with Africa.

Proof if he is wrong, I was in Cambodia border a short while ago, they specifically named you guys, imagine Cambodia of all places insulting the whole country because of shameless individuals with no moral compass. Yes, no tribe has monopoly in terms of crime but when it comes to getting Nigerians blacklisted in South east Asia, you lot definitely have the monopoly

I believe you weren’t born yesterday and know a lot of stereotypes have proven true overtime. Go to sukhumvit in Bangkok and see your brothers peddling drugs to tourists without shame, infact go to online forums and see Thais complaining about this gory sight, the whole place looks like computer village with shouts of Nna here and there. Sugar club and many other clubs on the same street are not even allowing Nigerians in the clubs anymore. Look at the names of Nigerians caught for drugs in Thailand over the last 2 decades and tell me what tribe takes the cake. Infact a famous Thai cop specifically dropped y’all and described you lot as a disgrace to Africa. The video is available on YouTube and it’s not just 1. So yes this stereotype is 100% true.

Thailand is a beautiful place to be. Thailand has a rich culture and respectful people. I lived in Thailand for almost 4 years before moving to the States. I believe that I can offer travel advisories here.

From my experience, the country's economy mainstay is tourism. And they are making frantic efforts to bring foreigners to come and spend money in their country. Well, the people are nice until you have issue with any of them! Thailand is a kingdom led by the monarchical system of government. Unlike Nigeria where you can just come online to dish out gibberish for fun or to chase clout, you can actually be jailed for offenses such as insulting the royal family among others.

My candid advice is that if you're NOT going to study, teach, play soccer or work in tech, please reconsider your travel plans. For those thinking about relocation through study route, it is important to note that you can't combine work and studies in Thailand! It's illegal.

Many Nigerians are languishing on the streets of Bangkok as drug peddlers and fraudsters. Around 2007 , if my memory serves me right, there were almost 1000 Nigerians in Thai prisons -- I believe this number has increased significantly lately. However, there are also many who engage in lawful businesses like rice export and other commodities.

Ensure you don't overstay your VISA, otherwise it might be a terrible ordeal for you. You also can't get Thai citizenship even you marry a Thai lady.

Thai ladies are sweet. Calm and pretty slender women. LGBTQ nonsense is also tolerated in the country. They have transgenders fondly called "lady boys". As a heterosexual man, I always ask questions when I am not sure a lady is a natural woman. Be polite and you won't land in trouble!

There are many jobs that foreign nationals are NOT permitted to do. Before you travel, do yourself some good by reading the list of jobs aliens can do there. If you're not going to Thailand for the above stated reasons, then you're on a long thing.

Finally, Thailand is a country that I consider my 2nd home having studied, worked there and also made some lifelong Thai friends.

Thank you.

An education person does not make this type of stereotypical remarks, especially if you are not from that tribe. It is considered bigotry and tribal gaslighting which is a form of incitement.

Tribal gaslighting? When did we start making up phrases? If you are looking for a political correct framing you are backing up the wrong tree here. People like you covering up the bad actions of others because they are your tribesmen or politically aligned with you are the very cancer humanity can’t seem to get rid off. Did you miss the part where I said no tribe has the monopoly in crime in Nigeria? or are you just in a rush to play the victim as usual? P.s “An education person”, now English skills isn’t a measure of education or intelligence, but surely if you are going to challenge someone on their educational background, you might do well to seem like you have a good grasp of the language you are communicating in.

Stop it already. One does not have to look far to see beyond your bile filled gut. You lack the moral compass to be the judge of the people you condemn. Everyone is a saint online because of the faceless nature. Even when all religions say otherwise; “ none even one is righteous.” This type of reckless statement and stereotypical behavior is why the country is the way it is. Continue to dance naked, all in name of being pious.
No one is challenging your educational background. In fact your presumed education is a waste, if you are openly and shamelessly defending this prejudice position.

What a cop out, facts are facts and bad behavior from any one needs to be called out even if it feels uncomfortable for you. So no, I’m not stopping it and ain’t nothing reckless about the fact that the ones who have done the most damage to the country’s reputation in south East Asia happen to come from a culture that celebrates criminal ventures, how about we try fixing such culture or are we defending it like we do sports teams? I guess you missed the part where I said no tribe has a monopoly of crime in Nigeria but there is one in particular that has done great damage to the country’s reputation in South East Asia (that is a statistical fact and no amount of tap dancing will conceal that fact). Again, I’m not pious, I just happen to believe criminality is bad and those even making excuses for them are worse, just because I’m not righteous doesn’t mean I don’t live a decent enough life and encourage everyone around me to do the same, I don’t make excuses for anyone’s crime because they happen to be from a particular tribe or not. You see when you result to personal attacks in the face of statistical facts (which is a particular set of Nigerians are over represented when it comes to criminality in South east Asia), you have shown you are a bad faith actor and have no business debating opinions in the marketplace of ideas without resulting to name calling. Wake up it’s 2025, everyone is tired of the pearl clutching liberal position of excusing bad behaviors among a group by labeling others racist, bigot etc. That’s a tired tactic.

So according to you, na only Igbos be the bad tribe out there ? You go try to keep this tribalistic sentiments aside sha. E no day help. Crime has no face, tribe or language, na individual something. No day front am say na one tribe do this and that. As we have Igbos that are terrible, so do we have yorubas and Hausas. Saying evil has attributes to one side alone is not the right thing to do.

I can see you lot lack comprehension skills and next to non existent reading skills. I literally said no tribe has the monopoly of crime in Nigeria (how many takes do you need for it to stick?). In south east Asia the actions of those you seek to defend has seen the country disrespected and flagged as criminals. There are loads of Yorubas and Hausas perpetrating evil (funny that’s all the tribes in Nigeria most contributors on this forum knows) and I condemn them but the issue raised here is that of South East Asia and the criminality by Nigerian gangs mainly of Igbo extraction which has led to insults from those not fit to clean the average Nigerian shoe. You can point the finger all over as you are inclined to but those boys standing around in Sukhumvit and Pattaya all have one thing in common aside from being Nigerians. If calling this out means I hate this group, how about the Thai cop that specifically named the group as a problem in the country? Is he also motivated by tribalism? Or a conclusion based on observed behaviors?
