If it's your first car, a matrix is better and safer to get, parts availability, reliability, technical know how abound and good gas mileage compared to the Ford edge.

The only issue I know with ford edge is the internal water pump failure which is a disaster as it won't give you sign. Interns of parts ford are expensive but they last longer and more quality than Toyota.

Resale value the matrix would command more even though metal for metal the Edge is more premium than the matrix.
Thanks you for your analysis, I currently have access to matrix 2003, I was thinking of swapping to the ford edge for the premium suv look and I want to use it for bolt as well.
Thanks ones Again

The camry and corolla are both very solid vehicles.

Efficiency both will get the job done but the camry has a bigger cabin, more leg room and comfortable sitting also more boot space.

Luxury the camry beats the corolla as the LE and xle come with leather optional sat navigation and JBL premium audio the corolla was never fitted with leather but the 06-07 has an upscale audio system.
The camry also comes with 16inch alloy rim options the corolla is 15 inch steel rim from factory on all models

Economy the corolla has a 1.6 and 1.8L engine while the camry has a 2.5L I4, V6 and hybrid. The camry hybrid comes close to the fuel economy of the corolla but to be on a safer side for 1st timer better to over look the hybrid. The corolla wins in economy but the camry 4 cylinder isn't bad if you want to balance power with economy. As full load the corolla is slow in acceleration.

Maintenance both are OK but camry parts are expensive than corolla. The corolla also has simple engine and parts even the sport version. I have 2 corolla in the family 04 and 07 the 07 has auto lock on moving the gear lever to Dallas, factory installed keyless entry, fog light.

Security both are robber magnet though the 06-07 corolla and most camry come with standard factory alarm systems, they can't be stolen whole when parked on like earlier models, but snatching at gun point has been major user experienced.

Verdict I would push to buy 06-07 corolla staying away from the sport due to bad roads and those with open roof as our weather conditions causes damage to the seals allowing leaks into the cabin.

If you like the camry, leave the SE and XLE with side skirts cause of our roads, push for a LE with all the bells and whistle (luxury edition with factory leather seats) but note most of the people using camry with non chalant attitude end up changing transmission.
Please I will like to get a comparison for Toyota Camry 2005, Honda CR-V 2004/05 and Toyota Rav4 2004.
Things to put in mind
1. Efficiency for everyday use
2. Maintenance and repair
3. Long distance traveling
4. Fuel efficiency
5. Spacious and roomy

For number 1 all your choice are very welcome, they will get the job done

N0 2 the Honda has the best engine in all the line up, but cost of repair is not same across board but honda parts are cheaper and last longer than toyota.

No 3 The Rav 4 or CRV will be very good because of the road, they have good ground clearance and cargo space for easy haulage.

No 4 The camry i4 is the best fuel efficient vehicle among your choice.

No 5 Both CRV and Rav 4 are roomy and spacious.

for me i prefer CUV than sedans, i will pick the crv cause it is cheaper than the RAV 4 and will do samething as the RAV4

wwith all these your points just buy an highlander, Benz is not for managing, its cost alot to keep benz on the road, you also need a technician with an expensive scanner to help scan the vehicle when it needs repairs

To respond to this request, both are great vehicles to start with. The Mercedes is just more refined when compared to the highlander
EFFICIENCY- in what context though ?, if you’re referring to which is more fuel efficient, the highlander wins here
LUXURY- the Mercedes level of refinement is higher compared to a full-option trim of the Highlander
ECONOMY- the highlander is more economical
MAINTENANCE- when part fail on the gl550 you’d be spending more purchasing part and getting someone check the vehicle out has it would require higher end equipment, the highlander on the other hand tends to be cheaper side of things , although the highlanders powertrain can be very expensive.
LONG DISTANCE TRAVEL- you’d have so much fun driving the GL550 on the highway, due to its robust engine. The highlander isn’t bad too on the highway
Cost- Tokunbo and Registered for the gl550
15-20m& 8-12m( this can be confirmed from car sales site)
Highlander, Tokunbo and registered-
17-20m & 10- 12m registered
If you’ll need the service for any of this vehicle procurement, I offer such service contact me @ 08028992075

All that journey is less than 200km and in 2018 when the post was made fuel was around 197\L that's 10L. There are cars that can pull that off especially when they are in good condition
My bad, had no idea it was an old post. I was referring to the 925/L of today.

Buy the Corolla more reliable than the accent. I will only advice accent if it is tokunbo not those ones bought new in Nigeria and with Mpi engine instead of GDi
I am thinking of buying an Acura TL 2010 as my first ride. I am sick of seeing camry and Corolla littered on naija roads. Is Acura TL a good first car?

Civic is the best among your choice.

Mazda6 part may be your issue and something about those Mazda years majority I come across have smoking engine also technicians can't fiddle with it like Toyota and Honda

Passat are well built but our oil and fuel kills the engine and transmission easily, pls avoid their turbo charged engines. They are good when under warranty but as soon as warranty elapses they are money pits. Passat isn't for your average Joe when it comes to repair, you need a qualified technician to avoid trial and error which can be disastrous

Ford Edge isn't different from the Passat, they are cheap to buy but expensive to maintain compared to Toyota and Honda. But if you have the funds for maintenance sure they are okay to own

Hello People. Please what’s the advice on a Honda civic 2013. Reliability, and possible resale are concerns.
Also is it possible to get a clean one for 8-9m

Please I need comparison between the Toyota venza 2013 and the Lexus RX 350 2010.

Reliability (Based on everyday use)
Performance (Driving experience/Driving Style)
Practicality (Ease of maintenance and repairs)
Fuel Economy/Mileage
Vehicle Endurance (Ability to take some abuse)
A lexus is always a better option than it's toyota counterpart.. Always!... except when fuel economy is a concern then a 4 cylinder variant of the toyota becomes an option...

in your comparison here . both are reliable, rx350 is more refined though and drives better.. quieter cabin and all.. both are similar vehicle but I'd pick lexus for the better refinement... preferably 2013 rx350!.. for a better infotainment system

2007 to 2010 is the same just a little upgrade. If you want to upgrade, move to 2012. Does yours have adjuster issues?

If not, can you recommend any for me? I just want elegant, very fast, durable and easy to maintain car

TL as a first car is a good choice if you're interested in cars. Those cars can have...rather interesting electronics.

They're very solid, though. But they aren't cars I'd let roadside mechanics tamper with on the electronic side.

Stay away from the GL. They can be rather unreliable.

See if you can get a 2012 ML instead.

Otherwise, look at the 2011+ Infiniti FX or Acura ZDX.
