It's not a different story, it's a spin-off from Lion King of the 90s.

We know Mufasa is Simba's father. Simba is the Lion King. Timon is Pumba's friend. And hakuna will always matata. Let them allow us rest .

I haven't watched it but in the original Lion King, Mufasa and Scar were clearly brothers with Mufasa being the elder and the king, Scar was the younger and heir apparent until Simba was born.

From the plot of this movie, they completely ruined the dynamic and turned Scar into the rightful ruler and Mufasa an Usurper.

In that case it was actually Scar who was cheated.

Disney and other move companies have been running film franchise for over 100 years, U are not in any position to tell them what to do.

SAW franchise is on its 9th series while fast and
furious is on 10th. Toy story is about to release the 5th this year. Yet U complaining about the 3rd release of Lion king franchise. Even Madagascar got to number 4.

Spin offs of these franchise includes video games, short films, toys, musical theatre, film series and parallel movies.

I hate when people form opinion on what they have no knowledge about.
