The main veterans are dying and protesting for the implementation of the meagre 20% increase in their pension that have been pending since April and some other related issues. APC is evil and selective.

No, you are the one.

As if you jump from Private to General.
if you say the service chiefs are not the ones dying for nigeria, how you say the allowances and freebies are
Flangelo12:
Well deserved.
where does jumping from private to general fit into the discussion?

please read and understand, make little research and be educated, it is not a gift of Tinubu decision, it is their remuneration which was reviewed last 5-6 years ago.

it is just like saying, paying someone hi/her gratuity is bad because a company want to acquire more profit.

Honestly this is an extremely wicked government, very selfish and selfish centred almost bothering on evil
He increased all cost but with immediate effect but has refused to implement the means of coping with it,the little increament in wages he has refused to implement not to talk of paying arrears especially to the vulnerable like pensioners and youth Corp members, he has recorded increase in revenue but cannot efficiently pay wages, except for judiciary and armed forces and probably inec
The rest can go to hell
With this attitude he believes this are the only people he owe anything but we are waiting for him
Heartless human being
Why did he not defer buying jet, yacht, luxurious limousine etc
But he can delay people's means of survival

My question is why are they not making provision for them in Naira that they have made useless and valueless? We don't have a country. If you complain they lock you up, yet they don't stop their evil acts. Evil everywhere.

is it the job of the military to "keep the country going despite overwhelming security challenges"?

even if it was their job, are they the only ones keeping the country going?
Google will answer your question but very unfortunate to announced to you the packages have be approved for them and can not be reverse.

Federal medical centers across the six geopolitical regions were upgraded last year.
Supporting the hospital he meant was giving these dudes medical care in Nigerian health care institutions and not overseas.. This is crazy, how do we grow when from the president to the least government officials go abroad for Medicare?

What of the retirement plans for Teachers whom have given over 29yrs of their lives, wearing okrika and worn off shoes... in the rain and cold supervising Jnr WAEC, WAEC and NECO.

Then go on to retire and die hoping and waiting for pension.

The headline is a bit too screaming, the media refuses to capture the broader issues of the Harmonized terms and conditions of service (HTACOS) but aims at achieving a myopic objective - conditioning the minds of the people to generate wider controversies.
Let's get to the meat of it, perhaps the summary of the intendment of the HTACOS. The purpose is to ensure efficiency in the management of the members of the armed forces. It captures the issues of promotion, welfare, health, and renumeration of members of the armed forces.
Also instructive is the fact that these terms and conditions of service is being reviewed every five years, the last time was in 2017.
For groups of highly dedicated servicemen who have been at the trenches of war for over two decades, I feel like they deserve every precious penny given to them.
Rather, the media failed to inform and enlighten the general public how the HTACOS cuts across the rank and file whereby every member of the armed forces are a beneficiary, the media only focuses on the retirement benefits for service chiefs. I think it's unfair to the entire family of the armed forces and our military deserves far more respect than unreasonable scrutiny in the media.
not my biznezz, if u like take them to bahamas and give them 7 virgins. Come 2027 u will be booted out of office

Once, God bless President Ahmed Bola Tinibu.

Name one country in the world that treated their retured Generals bad, name one?
Is it the lazy arm chair Nigerian generals you are hyping like this?

Useless generals who have never seen war? Or is it the Boko Haram ragtags that you fools have been wobbling and fumbling with for over a decade that is the "war" that entitles incompetent, corrupt, unfit, unintelligent nincompoops to such ridiculous benefits in a poor shithole country like Nigeria?

If useless Nigerian military incompetents can get these retirement benefits, then Generals in the US Army should be getting $20m+ retirement packages.

I laugh.

This is a bit over the top.

As much as the military, paramilitary and police personnel need and deserve special considerations, the gap between what has been approved and what is obtainable for the rest of the public servants is a bit too much.

The excesses should be reduced while other masses should enjoy some benefits. For instance, all retired public servants, 60 and above, should enjoy free medical services up to a cumulative total of N50m for life.

Non-government officials over the age of 70 should enjoy same as the retired public servants as long as they have evidence of contributory pension

There would be no teachers if invaders win.

There is hierarchy in every society.

Doctors earn more than teachers.

I'm sure you know that too, but you must complain.

Majority of those dying in the army are not officers.
