The Lagos State Police Command has reacted to a viral video showing the Chairman of the Lagos State Parks Management Committee, Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, allegedly intimidating and preventing the Igbo people from voting at his polling unit.

The video was being circulated in social media as the presidential and National Assembly elections were conducted across the country, and a netizen (@chude__) shared the clip on Twitter.

He, then, called the attention of the Nigeria Police to the event at the polling unit in Fehintola Giwa Street, Aguda, Surulere, Lagos.

In the Twitter post, Chude further alleged that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) refused to redeploy its Resident Electoral Commission (REC), Segun Agbaje, adding that, “MC Oluomo made sure that materials didn’t get to their destinations.”

Reacting to the clip, which has received a bombardment of reactions on the microblogging site, the Lagos Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Benjamin Hundeyin, assured that the video would be investigated.

Hundeyin described the event as criminal and violating the Electoral Act 2022.“While the video will be investigated to know if it’s an old, recycled one or not, it should be noted that this is criminal and totally against the Electoral Act, 2022. Violators will be prosecuted,” Hundeyin said.

MC Oluomo is an ardent follower and loyalist of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu.

A former Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, on Tuesday, said the protest that trailed the fuel subsidy removal during the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan in 2012 was due to political interests.

Fayemi said this in his keynote address delivered at a national dialogue organised to celebrate the 60th birthday celebration of the founding National Secretary of Alliance for Democracy and Fellow, Abuja School of Social and Political Thought, Professor Udenta Udenta in Abuja.

The price was later re-adjusted to N97, after more than a week of protests.

Petrol price was later reduced to N87 in 2015.

Jonathan faced serious backlash for the fuel price adjustment, especially from leaders of the All Progressives Congress, who were then in different opposition parties, including the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria, Congress for Progressives Congress, All Nigeria Peoples Party, and All Progressive Grand Alliance.

Felix Morka, the National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has refuted allegations by former presidential candidate Peter Obi, describing them as “malicious lies” and an attempt to gain public sympathy through “emotional blackmail.”

The controversy erupted after Obi claimed on his official X handle that Morka had issued veiled threats against him and his family during a televised interview.


“Nothing in my statement constitutes or suggests a threat to Mr Obi or anyone,” Morka asserted. “This deliberate misrepresentation by Obi is a dangerous ploy to play the victim and incite public outrage against me.”

Morka went further, accusing Obi of perpetuating a culture of misinformation and hypocrisy.

He pointed out that the policies Obi had criticised the Tinubu administration for implementing—abolishing fuel subsidies, unifying the exchange rate, and boosting production over consumption—were the same reforms Obi had promised during his presidential campaign.

“Obi’s constant flip-flops demonstrate a disturbing lack of principled commitment,” Morka declared.

“By altering his stance to suit his political interests and the drumbeats of his vocal online supporters, he undermines his credibility and raises serious concerns about his leadership capabilities.”

Morka also took aim at Obi’s supporters, accusing them of orchestrating online harassment and issuing death threats against critics.

He lamented that Obi had not condemned these actions, implying tacit approval of the “restless band of online mobs” who attack dissenting voices.

“Obi must think himself to be Nigeria’s sacred cow—beyond reproach and always right,” Morka said.

“Nigeria deserves opposition leaders who uphold principle and engage in fact-based critiques, not barefaced indulgence in manipulative politics.”

Morka hinted at possible legal action, stating that Obi’s claims had damaged his reputation and endangered his family.

“By falsely accusing me of threatening his life, Mr Obi has libeled me in the extreme and incited his followers to issue threats against my family. This is unacceptable,” he warned.

I think you expected him to come and kneel down and say this was what loquacious Felix Morka said.
However since you feigned ignorance of what Felix Morka said that constitute a threat to Peter Obi's life, here below was what he said and himself admitted he said so:

Please who made him the judge to know who and who has crossed the line? I expected in this his rebuttal to have stated areas that Obi crossed red line and also state the constitution he breached.

If there is any political party engaging in manipulative politics is no other party than APC and her supporters that doesn't want any opposition. Till now they have not told us all that made Peter Obi crossed the line. At least they should have itemised areas that Peter Obi crossed the line by now.

The same way I challenged you when you claimed Peter Obi was playing religion card and threw some question to you and till now you've not answered them but instead deviating like rocking chair.

Mr. Man, are the supporters of APC not saying more frightened words to opposition supporters. They don't even stop at that, they maim, kill and sometimes cause physical injuries on people physically. What can you say about that? Bayo Ononuga last two years caused division between the Yorubas and Igbos. What did you say?
