surgical:I completely agree with you on your opinion, this is difference between selfless leaders and self centered leaders, without negotiation, judicial officers salaries were increased by 300%, military condition of service was reversed to get 20,000 Dollars and SUVs and other retirement benefits on retirement, but in the same country, we saw a retired DSP of Police lamented on social media that her gratuity for serving Nigeria for 35 years was 1.7 million naira. The question is, what are the judges and military personnel contributing to Nigeria that doctors in the hospitals, teachers in the classrooms, lecturers in our universities etc did not do. When it comes to later classes of workers, they government we now starting negotiating with them by saying they we add 3,000 or 2,500 to their salary as if they are bargaining for price of tomato or pepper, presently some senior civil servants received less than 20% increment, according to consequential adjustment table, and till now that has not even happen. Even our children that were sent to places far away from their parent to go and serve their father land, were promised 77,000 naira, but up till now that have not taken effect. More so, this is the first time that state governments are paying more than Federal government which is very bad. |

Flangelo12:Thats not my point. Anyways they deserve recognition too. In the US, most Medal of Honor recipients are enlisted. It is easier to give command than to carry out the command. |

JohnBullMySon:It's not easier. Fighting without strategy is nothing. Generals are made and not born. They even their stripes. I don't understand why we tend to begrudge people who have dedicated their years to difficult endeavours. |

Ironbull:but not as much as you have said in your posts below Ironbull:is it google that provided you with this psot? Ironbull:is it the job of the military to "keep the country going despite overwhelming security challenges"? even if it was their job, are they the only ones keeping the country going? |

TimeManager:Those that are collecting the real bullet are at the ones current at the federal ministry of finance protesting over their pension benefits. Since it's all about joining the military and be collecting bullet in your chest, why have they not paid those retired soldiers protesting at the federal ministry of finance their retirement benefits? Country that the government always claims that there is no money, but are always signing expensive Luxurious lifestyle bills for themselves and co, but when it comes to the common masses, then automatically there is no money in the country, and u guys still have the mind to still keep onsupporting them, una do well o |

By God grace, but the chance is very slim for your Corps to be COAS or CDS. Lately, Infantry have been the beneficiary all the while, since the time of Gen Ihejerika 5 of his successors are INFANTRY OFFRS. However, since our return to democracy in 1999. Only Gen Martin Luther Agwai became COAS from Armoured corps. Above all, may God answer your prayers senior offr. CaptainStephen: |

Does this continue after they pass on, what happens to the ones that die in the line of duty. Some day the costs of running Nigeria will far out we the cost of of keeping it running. Let me explain, one day the cost of running a car will overtake the expenses to buy the car. That vehicle is Nigeria. |
