Federal government should not allow this appointment stay.

The new coach was fired by Mail on social media last year. And he's not better than Ammuneke, Eguavoen and other seasoned local coaches who qualified us for AFCON (CHAN) recently.

The only reason one could adduce for this appointment is to allow sharing formula between the coach and NFF officials. It Is not based on competence or pedigree of the coach. Nor out of patriotism.

This appointment has implication for us as a football nation. We are highly rated in African and world football. Mali, where this man hails from, doesn't near us an inch in football history. Nigeria is always ahead of Mali in rating.

Yet,he is appointed to tinker our national Team! This could be likened to Brazil going for a coach in Peru or Paraguay to tinker their national team. It doesn't make sense or could add value to their football.

Hmmm, something of note, I watched the last afcon, and I kinda admire the Malian team a bit they played some technical football, they may not have gone far at the tournament, maybe with Nigeria's massive talent he can turn things a bit around, even though his profile isn't inspiring, furthermore, our major focus right now is a world cup ticket, and our opponents are fellow African teams, having someone who has played on the continent and understands African football play, style and pattern may just come in handy than bringing a European coach who may probably need time to understand the African football terrain, note also we don't have the liberty to lose anymore games at the qualifiers as we are almost at the bottom of the table.
