Right now there is no time for a world class coach with no experience of African football. I suspect he will do well. Mali were good at AFCON and lost to Ivory Coast in the same way we did. They had excellent transition and wing play. With superior players I would expect incisive attacking football. Because the reality is that we need to win all our games.

When choices are made in this regard, NFF should have taken into consideration; previous coaches' difficulty in managing the numerous egos in the Nigerian dressing room. Also, experience in navigating African teams.

There are lots of club-side coaches with great playing styles that I expected NFF to favor such as Pitso Mosimane.

When I was younger, everyone thought my nonchalant lifestyle was going to deny me an enviable future, but it served as a motivation to prove them wrong. I may not have become like Elon Musk (which is still the goal), but I am way above average.
