Why bring tribe into the equation, these guys moved to Lagos to thirve, they saw a market demand for a service they provided it, they paid taxes to the local authority in the state, provided employmenty and business opportunities there what is wrong with that.

The Land in question was acquired in 2006, If the state authorities informed him that there was a plan for a coastal highway there he would not have made the purchase. Its sad how you guys reduce everything to tribe, did BAT know he would be a president in 2006? Even if he nursed the ambition did he know he will win?

The relocation wave is surging with intensity. Landmark Group has boldly uprooted and shifted its entire operations. One can only hope that the dominant Niger Delta-owned banks and oil giants will seize the moment, relocating their headquarters—or at least a significant part of their operations—to Port Harcourt. Failure to act now risks leaving the region vulnerable to the next toxic chapter of political neglect and economic marginalization as the proverbial cock crows its timely warning.

Due to numerous inquiries in the thread.PH was part an parcel of the Eastern region. PH was originally developed to evacuate coal from Enugu. PH was originally called Igweocha.

They are absolutely losing their minds over a business that coughs up N10 Billion per year in taxes relocating to PH . Imagine the chaos if bigger players like Access Bank, UBA, Zenith Bank, Seplat, Nextoil, or even the Zinox Group decide to pack up and leave too. Lagos is living on borrowed time, and the clock is ticking.

Word on the street is that even Dangote is fed up with Lagos’ endless drama. Rumor has it he’s planning to move his main HQ to Abuja and rent out his Lagos office once it’s finished. If that happens, expect BUA to follow suit, and Lagos will finally settle into the role everyone’s been envisioning: the economic hub of Yoruba land and little more.
He is a liar, he didn't pay 10b as taxes to any body for last year. Google the taxes payed to Lagos government within last year, you will not see landmark pay that much. Someone who is not consistent about how much his beach worth. Calling different figures all the time. You will continue to imagine until you join your ancestors. Zinox and next oil are not big cos their taxes to the government is not much. Seplat has many owners. When you called big players, it's the like of Chevron, ExxonMobil and co. Only dangote taxes swallow almost the others. Dangote just built a refinery and you expect him to relocate his headquarters from Lagos where it's based. Bitter people are not hard to detect from you people. Access bank and UBA are not wholly owned. Nobody will miss landmark beach cos their already better ones than him now. You igbos should use portharcourt port since it's operational and according to you, PH is under eastern region. I will see who will leave Lagos to onitsha or Abia and other places in your east to do business. Always boasting but don't have the liver to relocate.

First off, Lagos State is NOT living on any borrowed time. It's a figment of your sick and warped imagination which shows that people like you from among the Ibos are very dangerous agents of division on Nairaland (and other social media platforms). I've seen your hateful posts for years now on this Website and I'm telling you how I see you for the very FIRST time ever today! Lagos State is a state that is located directly on the prime Atlantic Ocean coastal region of West Africa with borders connecting it with the rest of West African countries for sustainable nternational business linkages and you stupidly say that Lagos is finished? That's the biggest B.S. I've read within the last 3-5 months from any Ibo person.

Second, Aliko Dangote isn't moving his HQ anywhere. Your highly irresponsible falsehoods here is uncalled for and some of you Ibos keep leaving your digital trails or online footprints of highly toxic hate speech all over the Internet for all to see how overbearing and impressionable some of you are. These inciting posts will be used as evidence against you all in courts of law as defamers and trouble makers eventually just like the BBC Global Disinformation Team's 2022 investigative video documentary CLEARLY exposed the video images and open threats by male and female members of ipob living in Europe openly calling for the beheadings and killings of named innocent Ibos living in Eastern Nigeria which were eventually carried out, and the criminality of ipob leaders (such as Nnamdi who introduced Simon Ekpa in that same video as a member his group) who recruited thousands of paid members living in several named countries of the world to constitute "online troll farms" posting Disinformation, fake news and inciting hate speech in order to destabilize Nigeria and quickly trigger ethnic wars (with the laptops and Internet data bought for them) on several internet platforms such as FB, YouTube, X, and many of you were hired to register many fake NL monikers as paid ipob online troll farms right here on Nairaland posting obvious disinformation, hate speech and derailing threads.

Third, there are currently many exclusive beach resorts still in existence right in Lagos State that are owned by well-known, silent multimillionaire and billionaire investors among the Yoruba folks who don't go about bragging. Matter-of-factly, 4 of such beach resorts fully owned by Yorubas were affected in the 2024 demolitions unlike the Landmark guy whose main building structure wasn't affected... Only the beachfront was demolished because it was illegally sited there and encroached on the right of way of the new Lagos to Calabar Coastal Road. The multimillion USD Mami Chula Beach Resort owned by a wealthy Yoruba investor was completely demolished. Lastly but not least, there will be "NO chaos" whatsoever If those businesses you stated above leave. The Yoruba folks who number over 60 million people worldwide with a very strong Diaspora population in multiple economic and population centers in Europe, North America and other areas worldwide as professionals in global finance, medicine, the tech ecosystem and international business to mention a few can NEVER suffer and will invest billions into Lagos State and Yorubaland while continuing to partner with globally responsible citizens of the world to drive development for the good of all. Right on the Forbes list of USD billionaires are 4 men of Yoruba descent (with Nigerian and Nigerian-American citizenships) alone out of the total of 6 men of Nigerian descent on Forbes list of USD billionaires, including the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. Period.

Did I read that landmark contributed 10bn in taxes to the govt in 2024? If this is true, then it is also most likely true that the total investment was actually in the region of $30m. shocked
You should know that is a big lie. Someone who call different figures as the worth of his beach. Who take does people serious. They over hype things. How much will the renowned Eko hotel will now pay to Lagos government.

Jonathan moved all oil company headquarters to PH. Lagos still standing gidigba. Buhari moved some parastatals and headquarters to Abuja. Lagos still standing gidigba. Lagos has been existing before landmark came and will continue to exist with its exit. Na Landmark go lose, give room for other investors grin.
So many international big companies don leave Lagos and Nigeria, Lagos yet no collapse. As dem dey go, others dey come. Investors like Landmark are trooping to Lagos bcs of the opportunity to come and make money not to come and do charity. Their loss grin

Why not create an artificial lake in Owerri and build a tourist centre in your home state? You invest your money elsewhere, a government comes and ruins everything.

Some people suggested Oguta lake, but I mentioned artificial lake to do something unique like Jabi Lake in Abuja.
He's not from Owerri. His hometown may not have a waterfront either but Port Harcourt is better than Lagos for security of investment

Story. Good luck finding sufficient people in PH that can afford the facilities. We just think it's about siting stuff somewhere. We forget people have to be able to pay for stuff. Anyone who is still investing in Lagos with all the bigotry and hate the bastard of iragbiji has entrenched, will have himself to blame.

They believe Lagos has arrived and thus they can mess with investors assets recklessly. But all it takes is awareness and people being intentional in staying away.

Real estate sector has already taken a hit there and that's why slums are appearing everywhere in Lagos.
He made the right choice, you should be considering the return in a possible short period of time and also available market which ph can put up with aside lagos.
Insecurity is messing up east that's the honest truth, alot of people wants to setup things over there but the Insecurity is not helping.

What GDP are you clinging to? Lagos is an economic graveyard. Telecommunications companies are bleeding to death. Manufacturing is are going with unsold inventory climbing to the roof, with breweries and pharmaceuticals rotting away. The aviation sector is on life support—only four airlines left, and even Tinubu’s First Nation couldn’t survive the carnage. Banks are staring into the abyss, one step from collapse. Malls, supermarkets, and eateries are gasping for air, crushed by diesel costs. Hotels? Reduced to desperate short-let hustles to stay afloat.

The city is dying, and apart from the Lekki axis, the rest of Lagos is an economic wasteland crawling toward oblivion.
Ask those in bariga. Ogba, iyana oworo, iyana oba, Abule egba , ikeja, gbagada, Anthony axis.

The only flicker of economic life in Lagos is in the Lekki axis—everything else is crumbling into ruin.

The Eternal Order of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church established by Saint Moses Orimolade Tunolase in 1925 was having meetings with Angels at the Lagos Beach for years. In the Heavens and Marine Kingdoms, Lagos is one of the Cities recognized. Not all the towns and Cities in the world are recognized in Heavens and in the Marine Kingdoms. The Solomon’s Seal which is a symbol of Israeli Flag (Triangles) stands for Triangular Forces – The Sun, The Moon and Star which controls everything. The Triangular Foces is established in Lagos. Lagos has Three International Boundaries RECOGNIZED in Heavens and Marine Kingdoms which are Land , Sea and Air. In the Lagos Markets, daily, you find people from different countries and planets and Marine Kingdoms interacting.

They came to Lagos with nothing and became Millionaires and Billionaires, yet speak evil of Lagos. Even the Accra Ghana they run to, they never realized that the Native Accra people Migrated from IFE.

If Jonathan had gotten the opportunity of second term and started Lagos Calabar Coastal Railway in 2016 we would not have gotten this kind of propaganda. Somebody reminded me Jonathan would have started the Coastal Railway Project from Calabar and not Lagos because the 8 years of Yaradua Jonathan government never had any project started or completed in South West but Yoruba kept quiet. This man cannot selfishly and singlehandedly frustrate the Protection of Victoria Island and the entire Lagos Island. The construction of Great Lagos Wall (2) to protect the area from Atlantic Ocean attack, Atlantic City Phase 2, Coastal Road and other benefits cannot be left to chance this time around

This is where your ignorance comes to fore.

Compare and contrast the GDP value added of Landmark recreation centre and the Lagos Calabar coastal road to our economy and tell us your conclusion.

Before, Landmark, we had the bar beach, Tarkwa Bay, Oniru Beach, Lekki Beach, Alfa Beach....all supporting vibrant SME businesses and are no more......has the GDP of lagos state deteriorate because of this?

That's why I like Reno, he knows how to make the obi.goats look very stupid in their wrapped innuendos.
kettykin:

One thing you guys fail to understand is that the sky is big enough for everyone to succeed..

don't be like your ancestors Ojukwu, ironsi, Azikiwe e.t.c. who were pained by seeing non-igbo ethnic nations been more successful than igbos and then decided to carry out a coup to abolish a system of government that would have favored igbos the most but they were too dull to know this...

As for non-Yoruba owned companies leaving Lagos, it is better to lose non-Yoruba companies than for the Yoruba to lose Lagos politically...

Landmark is not going to be the last to leave, it remains Access, Fidelity, and other non Yoruba owned companies to leave, they should stop wasting time...

When will you relocate to Anambra, Imo, Abia, Ebonyi or Enugu from Lagos? Nobody send you and your wailing, Lagos no need your tears.
You guys are daft. You're busy trolling the Igbos but you don't know this relocation is just 1 from several in the coming years.
Dangote wants to shift base to Abuja too. I'm sure other investors will follow suit too.
What happened to Warri will be the fate of Lagos

Going to school is a waste of money for those that trained you. No sense at all.

Maybe you can tell them pack out of Lagos and now see who will loose.

Sometimes, you Igbos should always think before coming to social medias to show how ignorant and stupid you can be. Maybe you can tell those that are Igbo extractions to move out of Lagos and go back to East.

Always trying to sound sensible whereas, no iota of sense. I pray you don't effect your children with this your low IQ brain. It's just like you telling Elon Musk to move out of US and move to Russia. Business wise, is there sense in that?

This man's business was wrecked as a result of a coastal highway and he has has relocated. What really is your issue. If you don't have any superior argument then keep quiet and read other people's post in peace . Must you throw tantrums and insult s over a relocation . If you don't like the relocation then call him back and partner with him . Facebook, Microsoft all closed their business units and left the country and no body insulted or threw tantrums .

All this write up because of Lagos. In your small mind now you think Lagos is playing abi. Or you didn't see the recent developments in Lagos. And if Dangote or whoever want to leave let them leave please so only Yorubas and foreigners will remain in Lagos
