We understand the setbacks but who would believe that gun violence in America claimed over 46,000 lives in 2023 and over 28,000 people died same year in flu related cases? Let's cherish and celebrate what we have and like they always say, No place like home.

Have you checked the number of lives lost over terrorism and insecurity in Nigeria within that same period?

This news from the CNN will make some people to cry blood today. As they always feel sad and mad whenever they read positive news about Lagos state, Southwest and Nigeria at large.

Yorubaland will keep winning!

Apart from Lagos we have other sites that will naturally attract international pilgrimages (and tourists) throughout the year. For example, the Osun River, if several billions can be spent to modernize it and make it very attractive much more is possible...

(You may not hold any of your traditional believes but you should not throw away your heritage. So many people are already creating the replica (of for example the Oshun river) in their countries so why should we deny them the opportunity to visit Nigeria as pilgrimages.) - Life is not just about stealing money and sending your children abroad. We should create environments, systems and cultures that our future generations will bless our memories because of it.

Special sites and landmarks with no religious values should be modernise and equipped with huge amusement amenities (like the China and other countries are doing). We should be intentional about everything.

This "Detty December" flow that Lagos has been enjoying for some years should extend significantly to other cities like PH, Ibadan, Calabar and Warri. (I mentioned these cities because they are relatively peaceful and already enjoy some tourism).

The Ministry of Information and National Orientation could also carve out a campaign to motivate Nigerians in diaspora, Africans and all other races to enjoy this experience. Not to talk of the religious gatherings during that same period that already attract hundreds of thousands internally and externally. These are programs to highlight Nigeria as a hub of good, and not all negatives like corruption and insecurity.

By the way,We thought all IGBO will have left by now since "DONT INVEST LAGOS CAMPAIGN" of early last year after LANDMARK demolition.
Its very shameful if they are still around upon all those threats as if yorubas begged them to stay.
