True but comparing their academic and professional background indicates a sharp contrast. Location is not a huge consideration. The Alaafin looks like a good choice.

Another Canada-based electee to a traditional stool?

I hope he wont turn out to be like that culturally-confused, former Yahoo boy and Igbo-smoking Canada returnee who now claims to be the Sultan abi Emir of Iwo kingdom.

I wish him the best

lagos to uk by car is 7,000 kilometres. But you are claiming benin wall was 10k miles which is 16k kilometres. There are pictures of the benin expedition loot why are there no pictures of the said wall? It was a mud moat not a wall. The ancient walls in kano and sokoto still exist today
You dey mind those ones, the wall they were moaning about is still there in Ijebu side of Epe.
The wall belongs to the descendants of Olokun Seniade, they were once living on the Atlantic ocean.
They came down when they lost their lands to the ocean, most of them live close to the Atlantic ocean mostly on the coasts of West Africa.
Orunmila spoke about Olokun Seniade, IFA is everyone's friend.

Wat is it about ilesa debacle. Did the owa king not merit it
It was rushed without full consent of the kingmakers. The customary period for seclusion and traditional rites were ignored.

It was a political appointment by Osun governor, no different from that of an SSA.

A huge slap on the land and the people.

Governors can sack and appoint kings then it should be scrapped. Alafin and other kings in Nigeria surrendered their sovereignty to the white man , some fought and still lost to the same white man. We are wasting state funds to cater for these numerous kings which is bs. The British monarchy is still there because they generate billions in tourism. What do these kings generate?

A King doesn't reply the rants of slaves. None of the Ohaneze members dead or alive has royal blood. If it were a traditional ruler, it would have been different.
Why should the Aláàfin reply the assembly of commoners called Ohaneze?
Royal blood, you say? Any traditional ruler in Nigeria can be removed by the governor of his state. A governor without the so called royal blood.

A Governor can be removed by a Court of Appeal Judge.
The Governor nominates Judges to the Court of Appeal
A President can be removed by the Supreme Court,
The CJN who is the Head of the Supreme Court can be removed by the President
Basic checks and balances.

You don't have royalty where you come from, so you can't understand. I sympathise with you.

why is there no actual picture of the benin wall that you claimed is 10k miles na. To penetrate a wall you need to destroy a section of it. The remaining parts go still dey lol. So where is the remaining benin wall o
I asked if you checked the history of the Benin wall and the specifications or are we to go around in circles? I could give you the articles but I don't encourage laziness.

You are posting Kano walls when I asked you of Benin wall...if not that you promised to get me a Canadian babe..I for wooze you today.

the only pictures of the benin wall i have seen is a drawing from 1700-1800s. The British breached three sides of it. Meaning there should still be surviving parts if truly its a wall

Bla bla blaaaaaaaaaa!!!! You are deliberately skipping what I wanted you to search for.

Since you are so lazy...search Wikipedia and let me rest. Get some free links.

So you see ...you don't even know your own history and yet the few people who are documenting/representing the culture are useless to you and you'd have us depose and abandon them. So when your kids want to know their roots...what will you tell them?

If you read it,you will the place 'very little remains today's

But I guess na the pictures or the mere fact that it exists bothers you.

Even if there no Benin wall, the Kano and sokoto wall are good enough for me. We shouldn't lose our heritage and depose of the rulers.

So what's your next point? 🙂🙂🙂. I go show you pepper today.

I'm sure you aren't Yoruba. The Oyos are known to have tribal marks. Some, about 6 slashes on both cheeks (three vertical and three horizontal on both cheeks) and others, it could be 3 slashes on both cheeks. Their kings' offsprings are always required to have it. I used to attend same church with one of the sons of the immediate late Alaafin back in Ibadan.

But you see Ife, like many other Yoruba lands, giving tribal marks is quickly going into extinction.
Ooni isn't the father of Alaafin, abeg.

Except the OBa if Benin King's, he was exiled but thee Throne Remained Vacant and No one was allowed to be imposed on the throne of Benin, until the oba died in Exile and his son succeeded him,

Benin kingdom never fell to the politics of Nigerian morden day Mornachy, everyone already knows the Next OBa of Benin Kingdom, no Governor has a say,
In Benin, The Governor bows to the king

His son who has tribal mark that I'm talking about is over 50. He was his first son sef. He converted from Islam to Christianity and it caused a serious friction in his family.
Alaafin and this son that I'm talking about didn't set eye on each other for a long donkey years. It was in the last days of Alaafin that I heard (but not sure sha) that they reconciled.
