What job does our government have for the youth? You have to realize once these kids turn 14, their needs change and for the most part, the parents cannot keep up.

It is either fraud or Yahoo that's the only option left for them.
Which one are u?

My son at 17 bought his first car, a BMW, while still in grade 12 because there are lots of jobs for young people like him and he works part-time during the week and occasionally, on weekends.
A grade 11 boy came to my office one time to withdraw $5000 for his father, he worked part-time as a chef in one of the Asian restaurants, he was a Vietnamese.
Here we have organizations like DQ that only hire teenagers so it is easy for them to have money and meet their needs.

If you have only lived in Nigeria, then I might as well be speaking in tongues.

Your government is a failure and an embarrassment in that they have provided nothing for the youth. You are probably brain dead and a product of the dysfunctional Nigerian lame educational system to understand why our young kids are turning into into yahoo and cultism.
Most of you don't know what it means to live in a normal society reason I am coming back to educate Y'all and hope for a change.

When there is a problem, you analyze the root cause and come up with a solution but, most of you lazy cowards prefer to hide in churches and mosques hoping an imaginary sktdaddy will take away your problems.

... And uninformed person like you should know that if you download the biggest mobile browser app in Nigeria, they plaster it with bets designed to capture those with that weakness (including your loved ones and children). Experts who knows what they are doing.

When you take loan of 5k, they offer 10k, then 29k then 59k, then they reset it to 5k (fully knowing you were expecting a higher offer). We are talking of illegal manipulation of people minds. Me I don't bet but loan shake as screwed me up once.
As uninformed as I am and thankfully too, neither me or my kids or loved ones indulge in such, not because it is bad, but it is simply not our thing. Yes one may buy a lottery ticket once in a while and that is it. My driver a grown man play sports bet and funny enough we had a discussion yesterday, he said last year he chopped a total of 150k, I asked how much he spent, he said likely over 100k meaning he made gain. It is an adults decision to play bets, I have lots of friends that do it for fun, responsible men. It is their leasure thing just as I prefer to watch YouTube videos, Netflix etc. So because coca cola contains sugar, they should regulate it because of people that are diabetic?

U guys should stop this tribalism. Honestly, it's making Nairaland a shadow of it's old self.

Any small news is gbas gbos between the Yorubas and the Igbos. The North and the South South are not left out too. But that of the Yorubas vs the Igbos is more.

Seun pls do something about the issue of tribalism on Nairaland. Ur platform is filled wit negativity and toxicity. I have some friends that deactivated their accounts and left this platform cos of this nonsensical behaviour. It's annoying and nauseating.

Seun, yes I'm talking to u Seun. Ur killing ur platform for ignoring those rubbish. Seems ur enjoying the toxicity @ Seun. Ur always busy enjoying urself on X while ur own platform is decaying; wat kind of entrepreneur does such?

Well, it's ur site so do whatever u feel is right.

it is killing the labour market so much in urban areas. Many young persons don't want to work , if you see them working , just know they are only saving money to buy iPhone so pressing go start.
What do U expect when minimum wage is not even enough to transport to work, not to talk of feeding or rent for just one person minus wife and children and u expect people to wait for manna? This problem will remain so long as the government continues to feed it unknowingly with their foolish policies and failures to perform their obligations. I'm not encouraging crime but in the real world it's only natural to want to survive by all means necessary or U die no one cares

The bold has always been the problem of Nigeria and Nigerians. They know if they follow due process like that it will disturb their own selfish interests. Hence we are where we are deceiving ourselves that our system is working when it's actually dead from ground up. Even those fighting the crime are worse criminals themselves. They won't go to the root cause because it will expose them too. So they rather pretend to be working while stupid people cheer them on, actually believing the bs as the elites recycle, play, rewind and repeat same ol' bullshit for the common fools

The reason I despise our leaders and have zero respect for them. I have seen systems that work, where a security guard can afford a 2025 Toyota Corolla and buy a house. I laugh when people hail our leaders for roads. Where I live, it is the city that tars all the roads, runs the power generation company and sells to the citizens. I only had power failure once in 14 years and I screamed in happiness when the power went off as the darkness reminded me of Nigeria. I was fed up with constant lights, I just wanted to feel power failure just one time.

Police and teachers earn almost six figures so it is very hard to bribe any policeman.

What we have here is what Nigerians go to churches, fast, and pray for, the reason I stopped attending churches, I realized the utter futility and hopelessness of Religion in helping Nigeria. We have a textbook-perfect country, No snow or natural disasters, rain on time,e and everything in its season, yet, we find it difficult to feed ourselves. A country of over 200million people sitting on fertile lands and yet, not able to feed ourselves. The rest of the world looks at us like clowns.

It's just a case of paid reviews. A lot of major companies and businesses do it to boost patronage. They're not defrauding anybody that's a big lie. People get paid to leave 5 star reviews on products and services rendered in order to encourage conversion it's all business even though it's not straight but to say they're collecting money from anyone is a big lie. That part didn't even fit in well with the story put up there. EFCC na useless organisation even worse than NPF. Na before them dey try small now na hustling dem just dey

It's a very terrible show. Nigerians are so accustomed to suffering that they don't even know their rights anymore. They praise thieving leaders for doing what they're meant to do with their power and they keep getting the crumbs as the majority is syphoned into private pockets. Instead of serving the people who elected them into power ( this is assuming the electoral system even works lol), they throw in crumbs to manipulate the minds and actions of the people thereby tying them down to a more dead and hopeless future. A country where leaders don't serve but want to be served is a country that has lost it's bearing already and that's where the nation has always been. Lost!

Chinese stealing solid minerals dry!
Chinese grooming talented Nigerians on the new global scam template!

Those Chinese deserve firing squad...in it was in China these happens.

Guess who will suffer diplomatically, politically and travel wise when these scams are discovered? Nigeria!

For the first time, kudos to Egbon Ola...you try for this one. However, those Nigerians are not accomplices if you look am well, but rather job seekers who didn't use Intelligience or did or due dilligience while working. Caution & free them jare

They use tribalism and religion to keep the people divided while they continue to loot. Emefiele has more than 700 houses. Even Elon Musk does not have 700 houses. We steal senselessly without purpose, till now, I expected one of the state governors to have a huge mechanized agricultural farm to employ and feed citizens but nothing is happening. They collect billions and pocket every month with nothing to show for it and the people are content waiting for mansions in heaven.

Lol that expectation is too high for the dumb idiots who are in power. It's doesn't even require genius to know that U empower people by creating a conducive environment where they can thrive. Every policy they make destroys and reduces the hope of the poor masses. Have U not seen where a certain government official distributed shoe cobbler's tools and wares as empowerment to the people? If that isn't diabolic I don't know what else is. Some share food items during elections so they can catch the attention of the hungry masses. They will never do the right thing bro and the truth is they're not as dumb as we think they're. They're just wicked and heartless because they know what to do but will never do it as it's their major weapon of control on the masses. Keep them poor and hopeless so they can be used whenever necessary by throwing crumbs coupled with fake promises and false hopes. Old strategy but our people never still open sense

It's hard for all this to stop, I can't still believe that uptill now the President has not done anything meaningful for the youth? Like meaningful employment

How do you want them to survive the hash economy you plug them into?

Now the image of the country is being destroyed.

With the effect of bad policies, I have to work like clock to meet up with half needs of my family, how else can I work to meet the complete needs of my family?

How many youth can pass through what am passing through for peanut?

The Government should come out in public and take the blame

Well, the root cause of the issues in Nigeria is that we are a resource dependent country...which in brief means we sell raw materials and use the proceeds to import and import.

We could change things in this country by y'know taking the path to being a producer nation, but that means hardship for some time. We could raise some money to provide basic anemites by improving tax revenue , but then we are poor....so....

And we could seriously fight corruption, but when people see fight on corruption as an attack on their tribe and so forth....

That your son can buy a BMW is the result of decades of hardship undergone to get to that point. The thing is, we Nigerians are suffering so much that if some leader comes in like Millei of Argentina or Park of Korea and proposes hard choices, most of us would complain and complain and then overtrhow the leader.

As an example...see fuel subsidy. For donkey years it was kept because most Nigerians were 'poor'. And as a result the debt kept growing and growing from it...until by 2022 it was reaching critical point...yet, 'we are poor, we do not trust government, etc'. Eventually the government was forced to remove it. Also, back in the day, we had ESSENCO....where many things like milk and sugar were subsidised...which worked until the crash in oil prices in 1982 made it unsustainable.

Why am I saying all this? The problem is, we know what to do, but we don't want to do it because it means more and more hardship before it gets better. This government does not want to do such...it wants to win elections. Anyone suggesting reforms is an IMF slave, or an APC agbero....meanwhile we keep on living wanting everything cheap...and running to countries that have made the actual sacrifices...to make money to send home.

Anyway, we are poor. Very poor.
