koladata:YOUR PROBLEM IS LACK OF EXPOSURE. A SIDEWALK IS THE DESIGNATED SPACE FOR PEDESTRIANS TO WALK. YOU CANNOT PLACE YOUR TOMATO STALL AND CHAIR TO SELL ON THE SIDEWALK. TOMORROW YOU WILL START REFERRING TO ''SANER CLIMES''. IN ''SANER CLIMES'' THEY DON'T SELL PEPPER AND TOMATOES ON THE SIDEWALKS. https://thecityfix.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Brazil-Sidewalks_feature.jpg |

Who taught you this design, or did you bring the knowledge from heaven? If you learned it from Western countries, then go and check what Western countries offer to their citizens who have no jobs before you suggest that the poor, who are trying to make ends meet, should be pushed off the streets just because you want a beautiful view. Besides which country have you been to that gave you this exposure ? Kemetian: |

gidigbam1: ![]() It is still people like you that'll come on social media to accuse the government of demolishing poor people's houses and businesses when governments want to open up areas for development. Now you here shouting demolish and expand roads. |

koladata:YOU HAVE NO SHAME. Is Nigeria poorer than RWANDA? I DOUBLE DARE YOU TO ENTER KIGALI, RWANDA, AND SAY BECAUSE YOU ARE POOR, YOU WILL PLACE YOUR STALL ON THE SIDEWALKS WHERE PEDESTRIANS ARE WALKING. YOU WILL LAND IN JAIL SAME DAY. THE RESULT? GO TO RWANDA, IT'S FULL OF TOURISTS, BRINGING IN MONEY TO BOOST THEIR ECONOMY. BUSH MAN WITH BACKWARD MENTALITY. THE REST OF AFRICA IS LEAVING YOU BEHIND, YOU ARE TALKING OF WESTERN COUNTRIES! Sanwo only needs to do more. Herbert Macaulay road in yaba is in serious mess, from Adekunle to WAEC. Oyingbo to Iddo and to Carter bridge so bad.. Lagos to Badagry express road at slow pace, etc. This commissioning of this road should be done by a Local government chairman honestly. I am wondering how Lagos will handle this year deftly December now that it is trendy across the world. Lagos needs serious infrastructure revamp to handle influx of crowd for this year Yuletide festivals. |

You have not answered my question: will you feed them when you push them off the streets? You’ve provided pictures of Rwanda , a country of 14million people, but you haven’t shown their marketplace, which i'm sure their government must have provided abi they no dey chop?. There is no marketplace in my entire area where people can rent shops to sell aside shoprite and how many people can afford this?. This is a failure of our government. Before sending people off the streets, where is the provision for them? My mother sent me to school using proceeds from selling on the roadside. If you had sent her off the street, I would have truly become the illiterate you are calling me right now. I am not fighting with you and I am not in support of selling on the roadside, but I've see the Lagos State government trying to remove market women from the streets without making provisions for them. I’m surprised people like you could support that. So, you want to make the streets clean but let people die of hunger? Kemetian: |

43Ronin:Bro, I don't see them finishing that road in the next 10 years. But we have seen Wike start and finish longer wider quality roads than that in less than one year. Yet people are hating him simply because he supported Tinubu instead of PO. In terms of project delivery, there's no politician that delivers like Wike in the history of Nigeria. I like what he is doing becos other governors are now trying to copy from him. People like Sanwo Olu should know it is doable and focus in delivering that. |

koladata:Look. This is really simple. It's about ORDER and SAFETY. It's not about making the place look beautiful. WHEN YOU BUILD A ROAD in a residential area, you MUST build sidewalks for pedestrians to walk because they are also taxpayers and deserve their walking space without having to compete for the road with vehicles. iF govt sees a need for people to sell in any place with sidewalks, it can ensure the sidewalk is WIDE enough to place the stalls OFF the walking area, usually against the walls of adjoining buildings etc. etc. |

Splashme:My point exactly, I didn't want to sound stupid since I'm not to sure.of the exact distance... that road should be if not one of the most important roads in that entire Bariga/Akoka axies... common 5yrs to construct just about 10 to 15km No credit to the commission of Road and transportation and the LGC of that area honestly.Imagine the level of stupid people we have in lagos, see how they're already attacking me for saying the obvious truth. One finnin even ask where are the 1000 Ambode roads today, why don't you go and ask your commissioner for transport if he has done any single repair on any of those roads since he was appointed. The jubilee Abule Egba and Ajah bridges can speak for itself. That guy completed those two massive bridges in less than a year. Ask the Sanwo Olu's government how.ling it took him to finish the 2nd rainbow fly over, 6 whole years... 6.... its a shame... Dreamland87 shame on you all supporting mediocrity you all ate the real I.diots shame.on you all |

Felicity001:Ambode is from my side. Those road ambode did were low budget road with few metres before you start seeing sand again. Ambode did not spend money on inter city Rail project. Don't you see the massive work going on on the blue rail mass transit? They're mounting bridges at iyanba currently or do you thing Lagos start and end in Ikeja? |

Now we can agree that it's a failure of the government. We pray that our generation will have access to power and change these things, but if we start thinking like them right now, that means there will be no change in this country. I know some families that don’t even know what 100k in cash looks like, not to talk of renting a shop, no government monthly stipends or food stamp like they do in advance country and we both own this oil. This is our father’s land. You didn't make the pedestrian wide enough like you said or create their own section where they can make small money, you didn’t provide monthly stipends to this family, you didn’t provide small-scale loans to this family to even rent a shop off the street, and now you want to chase them off the street so it can look beautiful. This is what I’ve been trying to explain to you from the beginning of our conversation. Because you and I can afford data, we shouldn't look down on people whose weekly gross income is our daily data subscription. Our government has failed to provide for a population of over 200 million, and these people are trying to find their livelihoods. Now are we supposed to wage war against poverty by arming the poor? My brother, think again o. Kemetian: |

Paraman:I felt it too. Sanwo-olu is doing very poorly on road construction. Since he has focussed more on the intercity rail then he should make sure he sees it to completion. The blue line and the red line has not gotten to their proposed completion stage that is why many of us are not feeling the impact of the infrastructure on ground already. Sanwo-olu has choosing city Rail over roads, if the exchange rate can become better I'm sure he'll do more roads |

Harddiskng:It's quite embarrassing when this small kilometres of road are been commissioned. To me It's more like these governors thinks we're villagers that would say "Thank You Sir" in 2025 for few kilometres of construction 🚧. The guy has done poorly on road construction I'm just giving him the benefit of doubts due to massive work going on, on the blue line rail. It seems there are no work going on on the extension of red line like it is on the blue line. |

43Ronin:The Lagos Badagry road upto okomaiko has been completed. What is left is completing the train stations at okomaiko, iyanaba and some other areas. Ambode did not attend to this project and Fashola who did massive road project complained about lack of funds then. It is good as sanwo-olu is giving the road more concentration. The fact that Lagos maintained one party is not good but can now be a blessing in disguise. If not the intercity rail project might have gone the way of rivers monorail project abandoned by Wike and fubura |

koladata:This a Lagos State matters not federal government issue. Lagos State is not meant to provide jobs for everybody. Lagos State government are meant to provide jobs for primarily native lagosians before other regular lagosians benefits from its job creation and create enable environment for regular lagosians to thrive and build business as a law abiding citizen. If you feel you want to sell on pedestrian way by all mean then you should be seriously dealt with. |
