zero8zero:Double by what? The one inflation has taken away from them. By constitution sharing formula, no state will collect up to ₦100b out of the ₦20 trillion while FG pocketed ₦10.7 trillion alone. Go and seat down and do the stat using the 53.7% accrued to the FG and 46.3% for the state and local governments. Also consider that we have 36 states plus FCT and 774 local government councils. Do rough estimate and divide the money to each levels of government. |

If you have income 100,000 130,000 Expenses 2023. 2024 Rent. 50,000. . 60000 School fees 10,000. 25000 Food 20,000 30,000 Petrol and Car repairs 20,000 Transport 15000 Someone then asked you she you no longer have a car so where is the petrol and car repairs money. Chances are one will first take a deep breath it is obvious to you what happened but he did not see what is clearly in front of him. It is obvious that even with increased income the money has been spent in other areas. 000 IfnobeGod20: |

ObaIgwe1:The way many of you Agbad0rians think is so annoying. That he "saved" him from getting "educated"? So instead of sharing an idea in a committee, he chose to save someone from getting educated? It's because you people believe that everything is about dick-measuring contest. What's the aim of conversation? Is it not to bring out the best idea for the purpose? Is it not because no one knows everything? But, you people are so limited in your mindset that you are afraid of getting educated and you think everyone is like you. Tbh, people like you are the exact reason I've lost hope on Africa ever getting it right. Tụfịakwa! |

BlueRayDick:The bold further confirmed your ignorance. Not every details of government finance is published for security purposes and this does not apply to Nigeria alone. If you don't know that there are classified government expenses then you are ignorant. At least you ought to know about the popular security votes common with your governors. It is classified. Whether it is properly spent or not is a different ball game, but my point is that there are classified government expenses. I rest my case with you on this subject matter cause even if I explain till tomorrow it will be a waste of time. You and your goons can keep screaming for the minister to come and give account of the 20billion saved from subsidy like it exist. |
| Re: Sen. Ningi Queries Tinubu’s Economic Team On Proceeds From Fuel Subsidy Removal by ObaIgwe1: 1:32pm On Jan 11, 2025 |
IfnobeGod20:I am tired of explaining this. The fact that $20b or N20 trillion was saved from through subsidy does not mean the money was put in a subsidy account to be accounted for. The N20 trillion saved is money the government could have spent on subsidy but they ended up not spending. Now, how do you give account of money not budgeted or saved in an account? I don't know how to explain this further. this is elementary accounting or common sense accounting. |

ObaIgwe1:If I ask u to quote the particular law or act that classified government’s finance now , u will not be able to do so but here u are boldly claiming government expenses are classified . 🤦♂️ It’s funny how u are the ignorant one but trying to project ur igborance on someone else . The so called security vote u claim is classified , the figures are easily available on the internet per state . The people in government u guys love to defend hate accountability , it’s no surprise that u the supporters/defenders will follow suit . It’s just a shame that y’all will claim u want a better and prosperous country but u are the same set of people that will always put up unreasonable defence for the politicians and public servants when the people call them to give account of their stewardship . |

docdes:This is the narrow way some of you think and jump into conclusion with your jaundice mind. My 1st sentence on this thread is that "I am not a fan of Tinubu Government" I never voted for or supported Tinubu both as a Governor and as a President. Initially I was interested in Obi, I think I even made some posts in this same Nairaland in support of Obi, but many of "Obedient" narrow thinking, close mindedness and intolerance for criticism pushed me out of that support group. Senator Ningi asked what I believe is a silly question, the minister did not say he would not answer it, he only requested to respond to the silly question off camera, and I believe he eventually "educated" the senator behind closed doors. What is the crime in that? Can you account for a money that does not exist? The minister said $20b or N20 trillion was saved from from subsidy. That was money the government would have spent on subsidy but they ended up not spending. How do you not think it is silly to ask the minister to give account of that money? Was there a budget or allocation for Subsidy that the minister can account for? You guys should think before talking. Let's criticize the government objectively and intelligently not by asking stupid questions. You my friend is the one limited in your mindset and in need of education, yet refusing to learn. You can not effect meaningful change with noise and senseless criticism. This is why the country has changed presidents and governors yet no progress because we are not asking our government the right questions. Imagine asking the minister to give account of money he was not given to spend and you are all screaming for education.... I actually wish the minister educated the senator and many of you openly and harshly, at least you guys will be able to get more money by demanding refund from your teachers that failed to educate you on basic things. Maybe then you will recover the hope you lost. |

BlueRayDick:Since you claim the bold is available on the internet. Pray, tell me a link to a breakdown of any one of the government arm security vote details. I am waiting. Accountability is not by asking silly questions that your government will laugh at or make you look like a fool while answering. It is in asking an informed sensible question. Not asking the minister to account for a money/expense that was not budgeted for. |

ObaIgwe1:Show me the law that classified security vote . You claimed it is classified up there , provide the law, statute or regulation that makes it a classified government expenditure . Let’s see how sensible u claim to be . |
| Re: Sen. Ningi Queries Tinubu’s Economic Team On Proceeds From Fuel Subsidy Removal by ObaIgwe1: 2:46pm On Jan 11, 2025 |
BlueRayDick:I never claim the law is online unlike you. If you are knowledgeable as you think or claimed, you would have known that no government publish his National security statute online. Also you would have known that information considered of National security concern is not static and that the office of National Security Adviser decides such mater and classified and declassified information from time to time.... But I wouldn't expect you to understand all that, if you cannot understand that the minister cannot account for money not budgeted or spent despite many explanations, then I will have to kill myself letting you understand how certain information might be considered of national security concern and hence classified. So I give up. Continue your fight against government to explain what happened to money saved from subsidy. |
| Re: Sen. Ningi Queries Tinubu’s Economic Team On Proceeds From Fuel Subsidy Removal by BlueRayDick: 2:58pm On Jan 11, 2025 |
ObaIgwe1:So savings from subsidy is suddenly considered to be national security concern. What manner of tomfoolery is this sef ? 🤦♂️ Because a minister was asked to explain how the money saved from not paying subsidy was spent u decided to turn urself into laughing stock first by giving a dumb reason that holds no water and now u are giving a dumber explanation of so called national security concern . Na wa o. 😂 |
| Re: Sen. Ningi Queries Tinubu’s Economic Team On Proceeds From Fuel Subsidy Removal by IfnobeGod20(m): 3:31pm On Jan 11, 2025 |
ObaIgwe1:This truly confirmed your ignorance. The finance of a country is not shrouded in secrecy. It's not anybody's personal property, it is the common wealth of the people and the people have the right to know how it been spent. Come to think of it, even the security finances are made known to the public through appropriation in the budget. Mr. Man, finance is not part of classified information in security circle. Only security strategies that are classified and not how finance. Meanwhile, security vote given to governors and president is not constitutional. It is not embedded in the constitution to offer governor or the likes security vote. It was just a personal arrange by the political class. Robert Clarke and Femi Falana had raised concerns several times on the issue of the security vote as unconstitutional but they still mischievously give themselves the money and that is why is shrouded in secrecy. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&opi=89978449&url=https://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/12/no-law-supporting-security-vote-nigeria-robert-clarke-san/&ved=2ahUKEwj6sqCv8-2KAxVrSEEAHfR9DU4QFnoECDkQAQ&usg=AOvVaw0jP2aDv16qsQtjm0SzCCTo |

BlueRayDick:Olodo, that is why you were not learning...mixing A with Z, is that what the question was? What subsidy saving did I tell you is national security? Which account is the subsidy savings domiciled? If you can't get this basic, you cannot understand the remaining. There is no physical or digital money called subsidy savings which expenses can become a national security concern. I repeat The subsidy savings the minister talked about is what it would have cost the government if they had kept subsidy, but the ended up not spending by removing subsidy hence the term "saved". This is what I wrote that led to me lecturing again and again on national security ObaIgwe1:So how could I have talked about a subsidy saving that comes under national security when I have been trying so hard to educate you that there is no longer subsidy money or expenditure anywhere to account for? Relax, go through my posts and the progression of our conversation again, and read this time slowly.... maybe this time you might learn one thing or two. |

IfnobeGod20:Please give me CIA or KGB or MOSSAD or our own NIA or DSS spending for last year. Afterall they are spending from the common wealth of the people...so everyone must know right? I like your second paragraph, that is a good argument but it is not my argument thus far, I was not debating the merit or demerit of security votes or having state or national security expenses classified. My argument is that they exist. While I hate to sound as an advocate to your corrupt governors, Falana and Co have not seen the case to a logical end. The argument on the side of your governors is that they have the power to to make such vote in as much as the legislators approve it. They argue that both the executive and legislator have the trust of the people to decide what is best for the people. Please don't get me wrong, I am not in support of the security votes or any corruption under government. I also believe in government's accountability. This is why I am not a supporter of our legislators who are supposed to perform oversight function on executive spendings but will rather collect a share of the money than raise alarm. Senator Ningi is a member of Appropriation Committee, and he had the opportunity to scrutinize our 2025 budget, instead of asking real questions on why government is deciding to spend an X amount on irrelevant things or see how we can cut wastages like the billions they spend every year on new vehicles and other unnecessary luxuries, he was asking the minister to give account on a non existing subsidy spending, and some people were clapping for him... We will never move forward as a nation with mediocrity. If your hope is on the likes of Ningi and his political father, the governor of Bauchi to hold this government to account, then we are doomed. |

A silly legislator and supporter asking for a minister to give account of an expenditure they didn't make a budget for. The senator and your likes are the ones that make us a laughing stock out there. Awon ode people. |

ObaIgwe1:You're ignorant and I must expose you for who you are. NIA, DSS, FRSC and Customs are all under the presidency you can never see their budget plan because they are under the ministry of finance. Their budget are embedded with their parent ministry. If you wished to know more about their finances go to the ministry of finance and you will get details of their finances. There is no where in the world that security finances are classified or restricted, it's only their strategies that are classified and each officers personal file information but finances are not. It's a well known fact in this part of the world that many government businesses are anti constitutionally and it has become norms in abnormalities. And one of them is this issue of security vote and constituency allowance for the legislators that leaders budget for themselves. I don't have any corrupt governor. I only support those doing the right thing and obeying our constitution. The legislature have the trust of the people to obey the constitution for the benefit of the people and not for the few. No law permits them to do antipeople policy. My brother, Senator Ningi has not asked unrelated question based on what the Minister for Finance claimed. He was the one that claimed they have saved ₦20 trillion from the removal of fuel subsidy and floating of naira and not the senator claiming it. And this is what the government have been brandishing about for long as one of their gains for removing subsidy. Hence, it wasn't out of place for him to ask that question in relation to the information ditched out for the same actor they are engaging. |
| Re: Sen. Ningi Queries Tinubu’s Economic Team On Proceeds From Fuel Subsidy Removal by ObaIgwe1: 7:09pm On Jan 11, 2025 |
IfnobeGod20:Oga rest and stop spitting ignorance. DSS and NIA budgets are truly under the NSA office budget resident with Ministry of Finance like every other department under the presidency. Go and check all the past and current appropriations, you will only see the total amount budgeted for each security department and not the breakdown like you will see with many ministries and Govt departments. Have you ever seen any of the DSS or NIA or other security heads discussing their budget openly with National Assembly? And if you think Ningi question is sensible then I will leave you to your believe. For the last time the $20b the minister claimed was saved from subsidy does not exist in any account. It was an amount they would have had to looked for and spend on subsidy if subsidy had remain. So how can someone give account of money not existing or budgeted for in the 1st place? Ningi is not just any Senator, he is a member of Appropriation Committee in the Senate. They are the one that scrutinize every budget and report back to the house for final approval. I expect him to know better. He and his committee members never made provision for any subsidy in 2024 appropriation, why asking the foolish question of how subsidy money was spent? |

ObaIgwe1:My brother, you're ignorantly attacking people here. Let me help your ignorance please. When subsidy was been paid on pms, Nigerians buy fuel at eh price of ₦198 at controlled price and ₦350 at black market price. Please hold this two in your hand. As at that November that the minister announced that the government have saved ₦20 trillion from subsidy removal and floating of naira, the price of PMS per litre was averagely ₦1,000. This to say the differential that the FG supposed to have paid for subsidy have been paid by the citizens as they buy a liter of PMS. Meaning ₦650 goes to FG account using the black market price and not even the controlled price. Now, if we factor in the OPEC price per litre the gain may even be more than that depending on the year or month. The FG made so much money from the removal of the subsidy and floating of naira. Asking for accountability of the amount made is never out of place.

ObaIgwe1:Your last paragraph I have explained to you what you don't understand about the issue in my last comment and I do hope you must have grasped it more by now. Mr. Man, the security agencies in Nigeria are under the supervision of the NSA and not only NIA, DSS, FRSC and Customs. Their budgets are under the ministry of Finance. Please I don't want you to continue confusing yourself about that. Their budget are not in secrecy, if you wish to know it, the Ministry of Finance will gladly open it for you because it never a classified one. All you need doing is making use of FOI. |
