One actress I'd LOVE at the DCU.
Could be our Wonder Woman or Zatanna. 😍😍

Like I've said on multiple occasions, SUMMER 2026 is gonna be a bloody season. Studio tentpoles BACK TO BACK EVERY WEEK.

Potentially cracking 2019's record breaking year. With Disney and Universal going head to head for the box office crown.

I guess it's time to start buying AMC stocks. 🤑💸💰

That doesn't look like a blank cheque to me when some 2025 films are around $300mn. 🙃

Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by OhBritannia(m): 5:46am On Jan 12, 2025
Deep water is a solid 3/10 for me.

This movie had a potential of becoming something great with the help of the wonderful casts but the writers and directors Eff up so bad.
The movie is an 18plus adult theme, so they should have made it more erotic, more bloody and more dramatic.
The casts seems they were up for it but the owners spoilt everything by being too carefull.

The death scenes were below average, sex scenes below average.
Atleast make it real, make the audience feel the storyline.

This confirms Timothee as a box office draw.

Like which one? Because movies that have those kind of budgets are just because of reshoots and other irregularities. The thing is Nolan hasn't had irregularities in his movies ever

The impact of successful movies from Universal on Comcast stock is limited due to the diverse nature of the company's business segments. For a significant increase in stock value, the parent company must also achieve success across its other business divisions in addition to these film releases.

Uhm, as far as I know reshoots are pretty much part of the game for Hollywood blockbusters. 🤔

Anyways here are films with little to no reshoots at $300mn+

Avatar 2 & 3
Spectre
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

Not to mention some movies with around $250mn production budget:

GOTG 3
Batman vs Superman
The Lion King (2019)
Fate of The Furious

$250mn isn't so groundbreaking the way you make it seem. Granted.... it's a whole lot of money. But Nolan literally made TENET at WB for $205mn & $230mn for The Dark Knight Rises (which was actually $250-300mn gross but benefited from tax credits).

So all this talk about Nolan getting a blank cheque is just over sensationalism.

WB has a DC film slated for May 29, it's a head scratcher cos there's not much info regarding such film.
I Guess it would be SGT. ROCK, the Luca Guadagnino movie. Budget would need to be small and requires little CGI or VFX work to meet that date. Best guess is that SUPERGIRL: WOMAN OF TOMORROW actually moves away from that June release and go to May 29. It's a whole better date than being sandwiched between TOY STORY 5, MINIONS 3 and MOANA. That's asking for dé@th.

Then there's 2 other WB event films with no info yet.

You're probably right about sensationalism but you should know every film you mentioned are sequels and were successful once and studios are willing to pay a hefty price because they're almost guaranteed to be successful. The Odyssey is mostly an original film, no studio will pay that amount if it wasn't Nolan directing so I think 250 million is groundbreaking considering it's not a franchise movie and won't even be

There is a general misconception that Hollywood actors constantly have massive pay days and are living the dream, which is so untrue in a number of ways. Only Tier 1 actors are actually living the dream and this is a very small exclusive list, the fun stops there really.

From B list actors downwards is hellish, some have to actually take second jobs, as acting might not suffice as a full fledged form of livelihood. They don't even get really acting gig to begin with.

All due respect to him, i wouldn't say he is tier 2 actor, let alone tier 1, so i can understand his frustration.

Mandy Moore put up a Gofundme due to the recent L.A fires, and fans were eating her up, saying she is a "millionaire", meanwhile she has had like 3 acting gig since 2019!...An actress from the hit Bernie Mac show from years ago had to open OF, just to make ends meet!

Why i do agree they are underpaid, but i fear tier 2 and below actors don't even have the cajones to push for better pay, and with the advent of A.I. and other tech, thier negotiating power just got down...

See the Actors, writers union strike last year or so, wasn't for tier 1 actors, No. Those ones can do one gig, and get the entire earnings for a tier 2 or 3 actor for their entire careers. Hollywood is showbiz, and it follows the same rules of showbiz. You have to be at the very top to enjoy the bigger chunk of the cake, and most importantly remain top...

Yeah and even popular ones . People think popularity is synonymous to wealth. There're a lot of actors like even Anya Taylor Joy that had to work two jobs even after big movies just to make ends meet plus most of them have to live in Los Angeles which is insanely expensive compared to other places
Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by abduleez1(m): 11:05pm On Jan 12, 2025
Now this is concerning.

I usually don't shout money laundering scheme for some movies with wildly inflated budgets but this one just looks and smells like one.

Cos how TF did they produce it for $110mn and then sell it to Paramount for $25mn?? Highly questionable. Unless it's a distribution deal and not co-ownership, then the money is fine.

I'm not even trying to look at how stüpid it was making a biopic about a largely unknown Robbie Williams who's only known in the UK and producers even dared to spare over $100mn on it. What for?

This is the worst FLOP you can imagine. $110mn just to make $1mn?? 😳😳

So only A list actors are the ones milking the industry

Without Marvel movies, I think Robert downey jr won't be this fvckin rich

And no single marketing.

Some drug dealers are stakeholders in that film production.

I saw a trailer sometime in December....wanted to share it here. It looked interesting but the decision to portray the guy as a CGI monkey seems a bit too edgy for me. Especially for someone I don't even know sef.

But people who have seen it says it's pretty good and one of the best films of the year.

Paramount will just be kicking themselves with the film adding to another ultimate flop loss to its box office woes of 2024. The studio is literally battling for its dear life; and is already sold to Skydance who hopefully could bring them back to winning ways.

That's why I said he's only known in the UK. Even majority of Americans don't even know the guy.

So he's largely unknown and domiciled in Europe.
