Hello Nairalanders, Happy Sunday!

I have a situation at hand, someone from Nairaland contacted to send him my account number so he could sow a seed into my life because my teaching (post) has been a blessing to him. I sent him my Opay account, and he credited me with #500,000.

I was shocked on seeing it, I called to greet him and prayed for him. Later he called me back and told me that he made a mistake and sent me #500,000 instead of #50,000, he requested I return #450,000 to him.

Returning the money (even the entire money is not my problem). But he is asking me to send the money to a different account. I have told him he should let me send the money to the same account it came from, but he insisted on a different account, he even offered me two different accounts.

What is the right thing for me to do? I need your honest advice, we learn everyday

Return the money to the same account that sent the money.

If you must send the money to a different account, involve the police.

Same account. No compromise. He’s likely a fraudster who used you as a mule.

Lol... Please don't fall for this if you don't want to put yourself into troubles... Insist on sending to the same account that sent to you. In fact, my honest advice is that you send back all, don't accept that 50k, there's is a 90% assurance that he stole that money from somebody else's account, or probably he's one of a kidnapping gang, they used your own account to cover up traces...

My instinct is even telling me he intentionally chose a preacher, cos he believes such individual should be honest to send back, and secondly, probably the preacher will be so desperate and wouldn't want to miss an offer of 50k...

Avoid unnecessary problem for yourself this new year sir by doing the right thing.. involve the police, or send back to same account.. stay safe
