That’s Peter Obi, reacting to the incessant national grid collapses.

Obi, on his X page tonight, said: ” I have just read the reports of the collapse of our national grid, just 11 days into the new year. Most of last year, we faced recurrent national grid collapses.

That occurred about 12 times in the year. The untold setback and hardship it brought on households and businesses was immeasurable.

Further reports showed that Nigeria has borrowed over $3.23 billion in the last four years to fix its electricity problems, and yet the country cannot produce more than about 4,500 megawatts of power for the people.

The lack of sincere commitment by us, the leaders, to the true development of the nation, followed by the widespread corruption eating through every sector of our national existence, has continued to drive retrogression and backwardness in our nation.

Tinubu's government should come out clean and tell Nigerians the true pictures of the national grid so Nigerians will stop being distracted by the incessant collapses of the grid.

The minister of power has told you that the national grid is dilapidated. It's been over 60 years old. But where did Peter Obi heard that there was national grid collapse yesterday, because such a thing never happened yesterday. The attempts to deceive his supporters as well as seeking attention is uneccessary.

Has the dilapidated grid been fixed now Mr truth kisser? So why shouldn't Peter Obi comment about it's failings or you guys have been converted to permanent attack dogs.

Which is why he needs to always be well informed before rushing out to make comments. The best way to bring relief to the national grid is for all state governments implement the electricity law in their respective state. So far about ten Governors have indicated interests and written to NERC for transfer of power generation and distribution. When that's done, many states won't have to rely on national grid for power.
