Should I Let My Client Know Of Car Modifications Before Selling? by Fuckallmods(op): 11:26am On Jan 12, 2025
Hello fam.
I have this Corolla 2010, very sharp one. But it’s manual transmission. I’ve tried selling it for a while now, but I’m not getting good offers. I know that most people are after automatic transmission, so I’m looking at converting to automatic, with the same mechanic who did mine for an older Corolla model.
The previous model, which I’m currently using doesn’t give me problems, but most people don’t like cars that have been modified… for example converting right to left steering is a no no for some people.

Since I’m not getting good offers for the manual I want to change to automatic transmission and also changing the ECU.

Do I need to state this process when selling the car, or I should just keep it to myself and have the buyer detect anything for himself?

How much are you asking for ?
Modification comes with its own challenges

Never alter the default settings of a car.
If it's Manual, let it be manual
It's it's automatic, let it be automatic.
They're plenty people that love manual cars, I do too. So relax you will definitely see a buyer, but don't be greedy with the price.

I doubt you can do it to 100% perfection. It's better to disclose lest you have law enforcement on your a$s when things go south.
And I hope you know you can't sell manual for the price of automatic, so consider reducing price for quicker sales.

Ah… I know that already. I’ve had it up for 3.5 million. I believe it’s fair… engine steams with water, interior is very sharp.

But I could put description that I’ve had the gearbox changed before. I really need this car off me as I need the funds for very important purpose

Yeah it's important to disclose to avoid unnecessary stress.

dictate what? And how much did you want to sell the car. But manual transmission is not bad though.

The manual is 3.5 million now…
I don’t even want to lie but if I buy a car and later discover that it was modified I won’t be happy with the seller…

My point is I know it won’t develop any issues later. I’m just anxious the buyer might find out and issues might arise

Don’t bother bro… I’ve gotten a gearbox yesterday for 350k. It’s cheaper than I thought. I’ll get the ecu and others materials needed…
Hopefully everyone here on NL will know the vehicle is modified, so they can avoid it.
