Taguchi:But he played well in the 2nd half. He saved Mbappe's shot TWICE from goalscoring positions. He seemed to have really improved in confidence and ability. Szczesny of course is still the preferred one. He puts your mind at ease....but you can also see that even the Best aren't infallible with his red card. All in all, top tier match. We showed how resolute and resilient we can be while defending and against a top and high flying team. A huge bonus for us. Shows we can actually destroy any top team and as well defend well against them on a good day. The most important match going into this new year. Huge confidence booster. Now everyone knows we're serious about winning trophies. 1 Like |

Awesome01:Hard to say.... Cos they were both very good. Szczesny gave a more assured performance...we were more calm seeing him at the post. Had very good saves too. Pena was surprisingly also good at the game and saved a couple of would-be goals from Mbappe. Only his service long balls was suspect....which I somehow think was deliberate and from the coach. After a few times he stopped serving long balls in the middle and just hit it sideways more closer to lead to throw-ins. Possibly a ploy to waste time — which many Barca players funnily applied. We also employed the dark arts of time wasting and falling on any slight touch or foul. Which I enjoyed. So, it was a balanced performance from both. I thought Inaki Pena was going to be weaker comparison since they played in the same match, but surprisingly Inaki Pena held his ground well. No reason for me to complain. |

abduleez1:This! Pena doesn't inspire confidence like szczesny does..man is jittery at times.. I can't deny that he has improved tremendously and his performances this season has been more or less satisfactory but make him continue for bench for my peace of mind. |

Taguchi:Woj actually had some jittery moments tonight. 2 spilled tame shots and the brainfart red. Aside the free kick goal (I'll excuse him off that cause he just got in the pitch at the time) Pena didn't put a foot wrong tonight. |
