Jaja of Opobo was a SLAVE in one of the Ijaw houses! No amount of denial can change this fact!

Due to his loyalty, he was given freedom and later on, was even made a chief. Sometime later he migrated to OPobo, an indigenous area of the Ijaws, where overtime, was made a leader in the community.
lol, he did not migrate to an ijaw community
He founded opobo and became king all by himself.
He served an ijaw in bonny, yes, but he wasn't a slave. People serve masters all the time, even in this age. Doesn't make them slaves.

Bro listen to me, I am from Rivers state, I am Kalabari.

Now the first time I heard Opobo man spoke, I was in a bus, I could understand everything but the accent was wack, I asked them where they came from and they told me it's Opobo.
U can't teach the new generation the Ijaw and have them fluent that way, now majority of Opobo doesn't understand Igbo and this is not a lie. SIM Fubara is fortunate cos he lived more than a decade in Oyigbo and could speak Igbo fluently
Big liar
Go on YouTube, not even the elderly Opobians speaks nothing close to ijaw, all their interviews are in Igbo

Whatever rocks your boat man, atleast we are getting there, before for you and your ilks it was there are no Igbo in rivers now story has changed

Can you please read my comments again and again and understand.
Both Obio Akpor and Port Harcourt LGA, the most commonly spoken language during the old Eastern Region was the Igbo language.
So those people who lived in the old Eastern Region many of them can speak Igbo language very well.
Even till date in Obio Akpor, the Igbo language is widely spoken in the open market than the Ikwerre language.
The likes of Austin Okpara, Sargent Awuse, Peter Odili, Ada George, Woli, Rotimi Ameachi can speak Igbo language fluently.
Do your fact check.
Obio/Akpo and Portharcourt are different.

U said portharcourt and I only corrected u that portharcourt is purely ijaw while Obio/Akpo is Igbo. Don't mistake the two

Their mother tongue is Ibani which is closely related to Kalabari.
As a Kalabari man, I understand Ibani very well but not igbo.

His name Sir Amaopusenibo Siminalayi Fubara.

AmaOpu in Kalabari mean the wideness of a town
Senibo mean convert
Alaye mean Chief
Fubara mean star

It's typical ijaw
Thank you for the explanation. I didn't even know that much about him.

You still do not understand me.
I lived in Port Harcourt for 4 year's.
Yes Port Harcourt is Ijaw.
But till date go to Mile 3 or Diobu, Olu Obasanjo etc.
Which language is widely spoken in the Port Harcourt City?
The widely spoken language in Port Harcourt City is Igbo language, even though is an Ijaw land.
So the Igbo language has been widely spoken than any other languages in both Obio Akpor and Port Harcourt City from the Old Eastern Region era.

Lolz, Portharcourt is the most metropolitan city in Nigeria.
Igbo is not the most spoken, except u are in a place where Igbos dominate.
While I was schooling in PH, the entire street was dominated by Kalabari, the compound I lived has about 11 households, 2 Igbos, 1 Ogoni and the rest is Kalabari.

The house opposite ours is made up of 1igbo, 2 calabars, the rest is Kalabari, my school has more Kalabari students than every other tribe combined, but the proprietor was Igbo, though all our teachers were igbos.

It all depends on where u lived and stayed in Portharcourt for those four years

Sorry, I have no stake in this issue.I don’t hate, I’m just being rational.
Are we to stop reasoning because of vested interests?
All Nigerians are English because we speak English.
Fulani in Ilorin that speak Yoruba are yorubas - ad infinitum.

England conquered Nigeria and imposed their language.
Fulani conquered ilorin and adopted their language.
No history of igbo conquering Rivers. Question answered?

Oga Port Harcourt may be the native lands of the Kalabaris, with Ogoni and so forth.

The widely spoken language in Port Harcourt City is Igbo language.
Even in Eleme, the widely spoken language in Eleme is still Igbo language.
Go to Mile 3, Igbo language is spoken left and right. Even oil mill, Igbo language is widely spoken in every corner.
Many Kalabri people of the last generation, most of them can speak Igbo language very well.
Igbo as a spoken language dominated both Port Harcourt City and Obio Akpor long before the Independence.

Which part of port Harcourt is ijaw please? Port Harcourt that was originally igweocha.
Re: Video Of Gov Fubara Speaking Igbo by DataMina: 10:11am On Jan 13, 2025
You must be ignorant to make that malicious claim that Port Harcourt is majorly Ijaw.
Port Harcourt and it's metropolitan areas are owned by the Ikweres. Even the waterside the Rebis people owns it. You guys are only customary tenants there

No bro
Eleme speaks Eleme language which is related to Ogoni language
I stayed in Onne and Akpabio for some months, anybody who speaks Igbo in Eleme must have learnt it in igboland but that very unlikely because Eleme people rarely leave their village

Eleme is an Ogoni land.
Both in Eleme and Onne, the most widely spoken language is Igbo language.
I work at Onne, I was at Hobson Gas at the oil free zone.
Yes, of course they must have learned Igbo language.
But what I am saying is that the Igbo language is widely spoken than their own native tongue or mother tongue.
My Ogoni colleague speaks Igbo language very well.
So the Igbo language is widely spoken in all those environment than their own native language.

It means you are from an English Speaking country and a bloody commonwealth country..

Because people speak Yoruba in Kwara does that make them Yoruba? Why do you guys refer to Kwara as a Yoruba state?

People who speak Yoruba in Benin Republic, are they Yorubas or not? Why do you claim there are Yorubas in Benin Republic?

Why do you guys claim there are Yorubas in Brazil?

Nobody is forcing anything on them...

The fact still remains they can't not run from their Igboness..

Don't mind them my Brother.
That is their own political sentiment.
If Ogoni state is to be created today, both Eleme and Onne will be part of Ogoni state
