When you log in after 24-48hrs of payment, it will enable you proceed. That is what i mean by payment reflected. Please give it time
It took almost 48hrs for me. I was checking inteminently though. Then when i logged in i saw the big blue 'Proceed' tab was highlighted.

Oriname11:
Please what do you mean by the payment reflected on avits?
I Paid yesterday and I have been trying to upload the bank reference no but it takes me back to the page of sign in. At this point I don’t even know if I am putting in the right reference no( I am using the OIS/……)
Help please 🙏

Greetings
Am filling out DS 160 for my parent. Some years ago, I filed I-130 but the application was unsuccessful. On the DS 160 form, there is question "Has anyone ever filed an immigrant petition on your behalf with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services?" Should we answer Yes? Hoping this won't give parent reason for denial although parent has visited me in US years ago before filing a I-130.
Re: Usa Visit Visa Part 5 by naivasha: 7:36pm On Jan 11, 2025
I understand your reservations about this, but let me just say that in all my visa applications I have found that being honest and truthful has not let me down. All the best.

Picked July 2025, only 1 spot there. I'll still keep circling around if I see an earlier date, but it's incredibly harder now. Waited 3 weeks to pick July 2025 grin grin

Its better you answer Yes to the question.
They will see it in their record anyway and deny them if they lie about it.

Since the petition was unsuccessful then the answer is no in my opinion
Your parents do not have an existing petition for them.

Please has anyone encountered this issue before?

photoberi:
Hello,

My parents B1/B2 visa for denied in August 2024 (the U.S was still using the CGI portal at this time). Their account got migrated to the new AVITS portal.

Now, I have been trying to apply again for them but this has not been successful yet. On their AVITS portal (please see image attached), I see this "pending appointment request." I cannot create a new appointment despite several attempts with different browsers, clicking 'Pending Appointment Request' only displays an endlessly spinning circle and fails to open a new page.

There is also this appointment cancelled (please see attached image), I did not cancel any appointment and what this means is totally unclear.

I have opened 3 tickets since in the past 2 - 3 weeks and this is still not resolved yet.

Has anyone else experienced similar issues, or can offer guidance on how to resolve this? Please does anyone know what I could be doing wrongly? Or possibly has anyone experienced this issue? Is there some else I can do to resolve this.

Any advice or information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I am facing this same issue for months now. are you saying your new profile work when they delete the old one. because anytime i contact support they dont seems to understand the situation and keep telling me to wait.
goldenmind:
Wow... That issue is a very serious matter.... You will need to talk to the supporting desk to help you delete the existing profile so that you can create a fresh profile and finalise the stuff because if you keep on waiting till the profile is active.. it will take years to be done. It happened to me since Sept. 2024 and I was able to solve it around Dec. Not until I told them to help me delete the account. Although it was a profile for two applicants.

Re: Usa Visit Visa Part 5 by Olpmma: 4:40am On Jan 12, 2025
Good morning, please I filled the form, paid and got a date in May for my interview last year. But sometimes in November I got mail asking me to migrate and create a new account on the new domain which has not been successful. I want to ask if there is anyone with similar problems and how to solve it.
Thank you.

Thanks.

The question is if anyone has ever filed for them and not if it was successful or not.

This trying to be smart by half will paint them in a bad light. A VERY BAD LIGHT.

Please please please answer yes!!!!
They will ask you to explain in a column. Then explain the failed application. Their names are already in the system so no use denying it. A lot of people have gotten rejected because of little lies like this.

Exactly. There's even a column for one to explain the application. So they can basically write about the failed application. The embassy already knows.

When I filled my DS-160, I used Lagos as my preferred location, but the available date for Lagos is Feb 2026 but Abuja is July 2025, can I swap the interview location to Abuja?

I have never posted on Nairaland so I am probably doing this wrong. I couldn't find how to make a new post so I am responding to a seemingly related one. I am posting because I have run here so many times when I was freaking out to just see what others are sayimg. So maybe this can help someone. I went for my interview this morning and was approved.

Important to note: this was supposed to be an interview waiver. I started in November last year but I was stuck in the pre-approval stage for a long time like most people. I sent all the emails but nothing until Jan 2 when I received the email that it has been approved. I went on to the appointment stage expecting to get an IW email but I got a regular interview invitation instead for Jan 2026. I am resuming the second semester of my PHD Jan 13th so I applied for expedited and I received approval on Jan 3.

Someone here said his regular appointment was switched to interview waiver after a few days so I was hoping the same would happen for me. But I never got an email. I raised a ticket and was told that I have been scheduled for regular.

Instead of canceling and rescheduling, I decided to go for the interview and praise God, it was approved.

Paraphrase of the questions I was asked:
Is this a continuation?
Are you married?
Do you have children?
Will you have an F2 for this visa?
Why did you choose "program name"
Do you have full funding?

If you were supposed to be for IW and got regular appointment instead maybe this can help give you some insight. Best of luck to everyone still waiting.
Thank you all for sharing information here all along.

Yes, you can.

But you need to fill ANOTHER DS160 with the same details as the first one. Pick abuja as your location.

Go for your interview with both Lagos and Abuja ds160. The VO will change it on their end, you can't change it. And if you don't go with the Abuja own, you can't have an interview at abuja
