blovesther:Yes, you can. Once you pass your OSCE and get your pin, you can start applying for jobs and even attend job fairs and interviews while in the UK but MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT OVERSTAY. Then, you must go back to Nigeria to apply for you new visa once your CoS is out. I hope this helps |

A family friend needs guidance with a long-stay visa application. She must pay the health surcharge and complete a tuberculosis (TB) test. What are the correct steps to follow for the visa application? Should she pay the health surcharge first, then complete the TB test, followed by the visa fee, and finally book an appointment with VFS? Additionally, she is applying with her daughter. How can she schedule appointments for both herself and her daughter on the same day? Please provide a detailed breakdown of the process. PLEASE break down the steps. thank you in advance |
| Re: UK Skilled Worker Visa / Health And Care Worker Visa / Qualified Teacher Route by advanceDNA: 2:37pm On Jan 03, 2025 |
Nairae:TB test is one of the documents to upload on VSF orr TLS website after submitting your application to UKVI Book the TB test online at IMO for both applicants.....go do the TB test...get results which can be same day or next day.. sometimes the results may take a while if they notice something in the lungs (God forbid) ..so it's best to get the test result first before booking biometrics appointment Once u have ur result ..... submit your visa application, which goes together with your IHS payment on the same UKVI website Once application and IHS is paid successfully.. ur application will now flow to appointment booking with VSF for biometrics |

Good morning everyone. Pls what is the fate of a dependant whose wife (a nurse) on skilled worker visa died. She was hit by a car while coming back from work a month ago. Is he still eligible to stay back in the UK on dependant visa? |
| Re: UK Skilled Worker Visa / Health And Care Worker Visa / Qualified Teacher Route by advanceDNA: 2:27pm On Jan 08, 2025 |
Peniel13:Haaa.!!!! .....condolences oooo.... But I think there is a human right concession immigration lawyers uses in cases like this.....I've heard it once where the lady was granted extended stay on grounds that there is no home to return to as survival will be impossible for her and her kids without her husband Please try and contact an immigration lawyer, |

Hello house. Please long does dependents visa from Nigeria typically takes after biometrics? My wife just got her COS with NHS and got her visa approved within 8 hours of application. I'm currently in the UK with her, on a visitor's visa but I plan coming to Nigeria for my biometrics appointments. |

Good Day all. Please I need an urgent advice about my situation. I am a student visa which will run out in the next 8 days. I got a COS from my company, and I applied for my visa on the 11th of December but to my surprise my visa is not yet out. I've seen couple of friends and even two people in my company who applied for the visa after me and the main applicant application got approved within 24hours and they are only waiting for their dependants visas to come out. After 3 weeks of applying the home office got back to me that it's taking them time to make decision on my application that they have requested more documents and action from my employer. I contacted my employer and they said the home office are requesting them to make corrections on my COS that the minimum threshold is not enough to sponsor me. Funny enough it's the same £23200 stated on my colleagues COS that was also on mine. I'm very confused because I don't know why the visa officer said the money was not enough. My visa will be running out on the 20th of January and I don't know what might be the out come of the decision. Meanwhile my wife is heavily pregnant and her EDD is very close. Should I just apply for PSW and terminate the skilled work application? Please I need your advice!!!!

Sakol4life:I think the general rule is you are in the "green" if you are awaiting a visa decision while on an expired visa provided you made your application before your visa expired. However, don't hesitate to get in touch with an immigration lawyer to confirm. |
| Re: UK Skilled Worker Visa / Health And Care Worker Visa / Qualified Teacher Route by Atk1nson(m): 10:28am On Jan 12, 2025 |
Peniel13:He should contact an immigration lawyer before the expiration of 60 days but also start looking for a sponsored role. Using the lawyer route could be very expensive and take long to be decided, within that period he could struggle to keep his jobs as employers typically avoid keeping an employee with an immigration case, so he should also be looking out for a new job that can sponsor him. |

For a dependent visa (Health and Care Visa), do I need a Police Clearance Certificate, as it wasn't mentioned in my checklist. |

Hello I need help. My husband recently got his COS and applied for a switch in Visa category as he is already in the UK. While applying he had to input my details as his dependent. However there are some challenges. 1. At the time he applied my valid international passport still had my maiden name and so we had to use it and the details on it. However at that time, I had already applied for a new passport in Nigeria for which I have already done biometrics, but the passport is not ready up till now as they are saying that the paper is not available currently in Nigeria. 2. I am trying to apply for the dependent visa using my current valid passport, but getting police report has been a huddle as my NIN carries my new name, while my BVN which still has my maiden name is not going through for the police certificate. So if I use my NIN, the name on it will be my marital name which will be different from my passport. 3. If I decide to wait to get my new passport, will UKVI have issues due to the difference in name on my application and new passport (my marital name) and the name on the application my husband submitted as his spouse details(my maiden name). 4. What do I do |
| Re: UK Skilled Worker Visa / Health And Care Worker Visa / Qualified Teacher Route by advanceDNA: 5:58am On Jan 15, 2025 |
Vivianchi98:Regularize ur NIN/BVN difference and get ur police report by either changing details on ur NIN or the one on BVN, so u can push ur application quickly..u dont know how long before immigrations will make ur new passport .it might be better to regularize back to ur maiden name since ur current passport has ur maiden name.. ....but it may be easier to change to the BVN name to ur marriage name because it's easier to explain u want to change to ur husband name on marriage grounds , so that they don't start asking u for ur husband consent and divorce papers like they do at passports office... If u do the latter....There will be name difference on the police report and current passport which can be explained with ur marriage certificate Back up ur application with as many proofs as possible like wedding certificate, wedding pics, picture u took over the years, old address proof u both share....etc |

Good morning guys Please I recently applied to an healthcare assistant position, as listed on the UK Register of Licensed Sponsors. I noticed that part of the application process includes a £200 fee for background checks and credentials verification, which I am willing to cover. However, I received an email stating that I have been shortlisted and was asked to make the payment to a Nigerian bank account with a computer center as the beneficiary. I found this unusual and wanted to confirm if this is a legitimate step in the recruitment process. I would appreciate your clarification on this matter. Thank you for your time and assistance.

MoyinoluwaElla:This smell of scam. The following are the red flags I observed. 1. Payment into Nigerian Bank account, are you going to pay Pounds or Naira. 2. Account Name is a business center 3. Bank Name is Moniepoint. 4. lastly, the HR personnel is a PhD Holder. so, a PhD holder will leave the academics in UK and be a HR Manager. |
