I paid for my MRV on the previous platform and I'm trying to reschedule. I have a pending application request but anytime I click on it to continue, the entire Avits page loads without progressing and freezes the page and I can't do anything. I want to delete the pending application but there's no way to that without clicking on the pending application which freezes the page.

I have tried to reach customer services but there's no option to chat or to speak to an agent.

I have used different browsers and it's the same thing. Please has anyone experienced this and what did you do.

Has anyone switched from interview waiver to an in person appointment, the processing for the interviewer waiver according to the Lagos Navigator is 2 months while the in person interview is 5 business days, do you know if i can switch and go for an in person inteview with a copy of my passport since they have it

Yea you can, on getting to the interview, you info will be transferred from Lagos to Abuja. I have done so and it worked out.

Someone suggested I fill another DS-160 for Abuja. Did you do that also, or was the VO able to swap it on their system?

A petition being approved is where immigration filing starts. Anything else is a false start imo

2 months, 5 days ..are these timelines to get your passport back? Or to get date to submit passport/interview.

Won't you still need to get an interview date first for in person . Most ppl here who have shared are getting dates much later in the year.

Hello, I am in a dicey situation here.
I wished, I had come here earlier, I wont have made some mistakes.
Let me give you a background of the issue. My mum did drop box on October 22, 2024 and she was refused under 221g 2 weeks after. The only email that was sent by AVITs is for her to reschedule her appointment but the reschedule tab did not work. We waited till last weekend after sending loads of emails to AVITS and US embassy home and abroad, all to no avail. Now we submitted another application and paid using First Bank. Now, after reading different cases on this platform, I became confused. Now to proceed after the payment, we are asked if she has been refused before. Now, the advise I need is, should we ignore the new application and send the "Unable to Schedule Appointment on AVITS" to LagosNIV@state.gov? If we are to proceed with the new application, is the answer to the refusal question "yes" or "no"? Thanks

Try to get in touch with AVITS regarding your mom's appointment schedule issue and ask them to walk you through how to schedule a new appointment for her. You can chat them up.

Regarding the new application and payment, wait to see whether you will be able to resolve the scheduling issue first.

Thank you so much. Please I have one more question can someone please share the difference in passport pickup options. I’m trying to find info on how many days on average for each method but can’t find anything online. I think it used to be 3 - 5 days for the free pickup. What about premium?

You're on the right path. Your visa interview will most likely take three (3) minutes, or even less. The consular will most likely not look at any of the documents you came with as that's time consuming for them.
Simply pay attention to what you filled on your DS-160 form and be very bold and assertive.
You'll be interviewed in front of everyone and your fate will be decided in front of you, if you're rejected a blueish green paper is given to you stating the reason for the rejection, and if the visa is approved a white paper containing your passport pick up information is given to you whilst your passport is collected for the visa issuing.
You're not dropping any document with them and everything you go with will return with you.
Ps: Whilst you're there don't get scared by the number of rejections you see/hear. It's a strategy to throw you off balance before it gets to your turn and it works most times.

Only applies to IMMIGRANT visa. Not applicable for non immigrant and student visa.

My US tourist visa expired last year and I should qualify for an Interview waiver.
I answered all the questions correctly but I was booked for a physical interview instead.

I initially had issues with verifying my payment since November. It was eventually resolved in late December and I was able to get to the calendar for booking an appointment. However it was a “consulate” appointment and not an Interview waiver. I went ahead to book a date, hoping it would be changed but I am yet to get any confirmation for interview waiver

How can this be fixed please? I don’t want to lose my chance for an IW.
I will appreciate any guidance. Thank you.

Thank you for your response. It's easier to make heaven than get a response from AVITS. Their customer service is the worst I have seen. I have sent more than 10 emails and 4 messages from her account. They kept sending generic messages on the definition of 221g. I just tried the chat option you mentioned now, and it's taking me no where. I wanst given the option to chat with a life agen, their chat robot kept taking me in cycles.

I am eligible for the Interview waiver but I was directed for regular appointment so I read on here that I can cancel that application and try to create another application and choose waiver on the annotation question. I then canceled my application and used another mail in a different device to create a new application and it’s saying duplicate application. How do I solve this please

Please can we be sure of options to select at the Questionnaire on Annotation:
(1) Is it empty (if it is actually empty on the immediate expired or expiring visa vignette)
or
(2) waiver as option (this was also suggested on this platform)

Nice and Honorable members should please assist with their experience/encounter for interview waiver/dropbox visa appointment questionnaire, especially as it relates to option for Annotation.
