Gunmen Shoot Man Dead In Ibadan by MasterJayJay(op): 7:04am On Jan 15, 2025
A middle-aged man, who has yet to be identified, was killed by gunmen on Monday afternoon in Ibadan metropolis, Oyo State.

The incident occurred at Anfani junction along Ring Road, at about 3p.m.

Nigerian Tribune learnt from an eyewitness that the assailants, who were on motorcycles, trailed the victim to the location where he was shot.

According to the source, “we heard gunshots. He was shot twice. At first, we thought it was a tire burst, but then we saw the young man lying in a pool of his blood.”

He further recounted: “He was shot in the abdomen. They didn’t take his phone, but they took something from him that was likely to be money. We suspected that he must have been coming from a bank.”

Another motorcycle rider who witnessed the scene said: “I first thought it was police pursuing Yahoo boys. But when he was shot, we all had to run for safety. By the time we realized they were killers, they had moved toward Anfani Road.”

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Oyo State Police Command, CSP Adewale Osifeso, confirmed the incident, saying that it was already under investigation while efforts were being made to get the deceased’s identity.

He added that an update would be provided as the investigation progresses.

Rest in peace, so sad to lose our brothers to needless violence.

1. Maybe the killers were sit at home enforcers, as it happened on a Mondayafternoon.

2. Governor Semi Makinde is not doing anything to end insecurity upon all the security votes he has been collecting

3. Tinubu continues to keep silent, he cannot condemn this evil act now because it happened in his region.

4. The people should condemn evil, and fish out the perpetrators who are among the populace. So that the group they pampered will not come back to swallow them.

This is really sad and something must be done to address this continuous killing. How can the heart be so hardened that one can feel so comfortable taking a like you cannot create?
May God help us

People get killed everyday all over the world, their are millions of unresolved murder cases all over the world.....it's not peculiar to Nigeria....there are far more homicides in SA than you have in Nigeria..... don't always be quick to throw your own under the bus and praise another man's own.

In my over 40 years as a Nigerian from the south,I haven't witnessed it known any murder cases around my vicinity and I have equally widely travelled around this country......cases like these aren't peculiar to Nigeria or any region ....it is expected that the police follows up with a report and provide more info.

What kind of people are we?
What’s is the value of human life to
Us?
It could even be because of 200k or less.
I just tire.
Security needs to be beefed up, if 90% of criminal are captured and prosecuted, these bastard will reduced.

You're not even safe in the capital?
The level of insecurity in the SW is on par with that of the NW but we don't get much media coverage of the murders in the SW.

The ronuites have turned SW into a killingfield, while hiding their atrocities from the rest of the country.

Pray for the SW😭😭

pls don't even make attempt of carrying large sums of money...there are lots of informants in bank. Better just transfer whatever money you want. Bank charges is still cheaper than your life

The average Igbo man will go anywhere, no matter how hostile, to do his business.
Even in Iraq and Afghanistan, you'll meet an Igbo man doing his business.
Now you understand, they're not in your region because "it's the safest place", it's because of business.
If there's no business to do, there'll be no igbo man
