English is easy to speak.na today politicians dey make empty promises?

Anytime a politician open their mouth,it's always similar to when men open their mouth.whenever they speak its all lies, future faking and empty promises so believe men at you own risk just like you take the words of a politician seriously

Ratio of public to private schools in Lagos State is one to 22 ― Commissioner
September 4, 2022

The Lagos State government has said the ratio of public to private schools at both primary and secondary school levels in the state is one to 22.

The state’s Commissioner for Education, Mrs Folasade Adefisayo, gave the revelation in her remark at the 2022 edition of the Total School Support Seminar Exhibition (TOSSE) held at Oregun in Ikeja between Thursday and Friday.

Lawmaker scores Lagos Water Corporation low

A Lagos State lawmaker, Mr Saka Fafunmi, on Thursday expressed dissatisfaction at the performance of the state Water Corporation.

Fafunmi, a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly (LAHA), said in Ikeja that the corporation had not been able to justify statutory allocations to it.

The lawmaker, who represents Ifako-Ijaiye Constituency 1 at the assembly, spoke to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

He said that the corporation had the capacity to generate much fund internally through water rates but had relied solely on government funding because of poor performance.

'' Anyone that is using water will be willing to pay for it; the corporation has not been giving us water.

"Is there any new community that Water Corporation has given water? People depend on boreholes; even government estates have industrial boreholes.

"Why do we keep pumping money into an agency that does not give us the desired results?'' he asked.

He noted that the Adiyan Waterworks was located at Ifako-Ijaiye, where many of the residents had resorted to digging boreholes as a means of getting water.

''A lot of people are falling sick because they don't drink clean water.

''In the same compound, where you have sewage, is where you have a borehole.

''There is no way you can manage the sewage that it will not leak and pollute the water; everyone drinking such is drinking contaminated water,'' he said.

The lawmaker urged the corporation to increase water reticulation and supply to residents.

Is that how T-Pain did to Jonathan and PDP below when he packaged his 2011 expired soldier as APC change messiah, when he was actually shege master huh
Is poverty worse now, or is it better after 10 years of palliative sharing upandan instead of jobs?

Emergingnation:
Flashback: How Bola Tinubu spoke highly of Buhari in 2015, named PDP ‘Poverty Development Party

National leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu had during the presidential campaign in 2015, referred to President Muhammadu Buhari as the only solution for the security and economic challenges facing Nigeria.

During a mega presidential rally, the former governor of Lagos State recalled how some powerful nations in the world returned to army generals when they were challenged, saying “Major General Buhari would revive Nigeria’s economy”.

He named the current opposition People’s Democratic Party, PDP as the “Poverty Development Party saying they had nothing to offer.

His words at the time were; “Every nation has a period of their own challenges, when America was challenged, they turned to one great man, their ex-military general, General Eisenhower. When the French were challenged, they turned to their general, Charles de Gaulle.

“When Britain was challenged, they turned to their general. Today, Nigeria is economically and physically challenged so we turn to General Muhammadu Buhari. He is the right man for the job. If you talk about military experience, he has it abundantly, he has courage, simplicity, he has it abundantly.

“If you talk about great determination, a combination of vision and ability to perform, honesty and integrity, he has it abundantly.

“I laugh when the incapable government, ‘Poverty Development Party’ PDP were talking. They have nothing again to say, they now want to question the qualifications of General Buhari and look for his certificate”.

Following the manifestos in 2015 which projected the APC presidential candidate as a ‘saviour’, Buhari defeated the then incumbent president, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan with Nigerians expecting a total change in security and economy.

Is this 'detty December' a new thing? Is it that Nigerians in diaspora were not coming in previous years to Nigeria to celebrate Christmas or what?

In the past, returnees and 'locals' celebrated in equal measures. Now, only the returnees are celebrating, but the apc somehow wants to twist it all to look as if the hi festivities had more oomph than previous years when almost every Nigerian could afford to celebrate?

Funny people...
As a matter of fact there is an epidemic of stupidity in Apc caucus anyone in Tinubu circle sounds freshly stupid

The high influx of diasporians dec 2024 is because of the ridiculous xchange rate ... $1000 is over 1.5m why wont dey rush home to feel like a king
the life an IJGB will chop with $100 in naija he/she cant have it where he comes from

Is Fashola saying we should render our currency more useless to maybe #5000/$1 so we can have more influx of diasporans .. do these guyz even know the economic implication of a valueless local currency

....maybe you should ask your Pandora Biafra why he did not do the same in Anambra so that December will be dirty in awka not the senseless killings and kidnapping the place is renowned for....

AFROBEATS is what has led to this surge of interest in Nigeria.

Does your MUMU head know how Afrobeats came about?

When Nigerian ''youngsters and gen z'' of the year 2000 were partying to US R&B and HipHop in clubs, campuses, radio etc, the then President Obasanjo ordered ALL radio stations to start playing a minimum 70% local content music.

He was met with VITRIOLIC ABUSE AND DENOUNCED AS A 'DICTATOR' by the Nigerian ''youngsters and gen Z'' of his day.

Dumb as fck just like you.

The directive forced the radio stations and record labels to look for indigenous bands, who suddenly became HOT CAKES in a country where people had previously laughed at those who played Nigerian music.

Suddenly we saw the likes of Plantation Boys, 2 Shotz, Eedris Abdulkareem and others. Then 2Face, Bracket, D-Banj... etc

The rest is history.

The problem with most of us is that instead of imbibing the message, we would rather castigate the messenger.

Detty December is not about Fashola and his performance while in office.

That's a story for another day!

That Detty December attracted many in the diaspora to come and unwind while spending 💰 is a welcome development and it should be sustained and upgraded to attract even foreigners as well.

Fashola even urged other States to emulate the Lagos State example.

This calls for introspection of all the States of the Federation in other to boost their individual economies (IGR).

Detty December can only get bigger and bigger if we can dot our i's and cross our t's.

My brother, for years we used to land 9ja every early December. Until 2nd week of January. Fashola was not even publicly known yet.

Naira had value and we had a blast with our families/parents and all.

If anything, most I know hardly go home more than every few years now.

With 9ja population in diaspora having increased at least 10 times since (including Tokunbos), I wonder what Detty December rave is all about.

Should tourism not be something to promote all-year-round?

Morocco and other countries serious about tourism allow Europeans fly in without a visa. But Moroccans need visas to go to most of Europe. Bring loads of dollars, Euros and Pounds and forget visa is the idea. Money to spend in the economy.

Everyone on the first page with those hateful comments are all Igbos. All of them. It’s so unfortunate seeing the kind of hate filled characters we share the same country with. How can anyone watch the brilliant submissions made by Fashola and the video and still have horrible and hateful things to say? How? Funny enough, these are the same characters that want to force a very dull and clueless Peter Obi on the rest of Nigeria. Such a shameful mob they are.

The Detty December trend was all about Lagos. Right? So if you think it was just youngsters with cameras that created the enabling environment, then it would be really impressive to see what the youngsters can do with a smaller town. Like Ilorin, for example.

Every useless newspaper in Nigeria is busy writing how much Lagos hotels generated last December and I am wondering who gave them such information.

And one foolish agbadorian was even telling Escobar to tax every Nigerian returnee $500 for coming back to the country to celebrate Christmas. Agbadorians no fit get sense, I swear!
That's a ridiculous statement as this is the easiest bit of information for any journalist to acquire. Even you in your house can run the figures if you like. All you need is the average cost of a hotel ticket multiplied by the percentage of visitors who are likely to stay in a hotel. Of course your final figure may not be precise but it will be an educated estimate.

Besides we had hoteliers come on TV to share some of these figures so clearly you're simply not informed.
