Mr. Demian Igbokwe has urged security agencies to caution Mr. Reno Omokri for attempting to incite hostility against the Igbo people by recirculating old interview videos of Major Kaduna Nzeogwu discussing the killing of Ahmadu Bello, which contributed to the Nigerian/Biafran civil war.


Igbokwe condemned Omokri's actions, describing them as wicked and a deliberate attempt to sow division and promote ethnic bigotry against the Southeast geopolitical zone. He expressed disappointment that Omokri, who has positioned himself as an advocate for good governance, would stoop to spreading hate and inciting discord among tribes, especially at a time when President Tinubu is striving to unite the country. He cautioned that Omokri's actions could expose the Igbo people to various dangers, particularly in Northern Nigeria.


In an interview with The News-Gazette Online, Igbokwe called on the relevant authorities to hold Reno Omokri accountable for any psychological or physical attacks on the Igbo community or their businesses across Nigeria. He noted that Omokri's behavior is reminiscent of actions taken by Simon Ekpa and Adekunle Grandson in Europe, which resulted in their imprisonment.

Igbokwe questioned why someone who had previously served under the presidency would use his social media influence to incite hatred against the Igbo people, especially at a time when Nigeria is attempting to heal from the wounds of the civil war. He highlighted the inappropriateness of doing so on a day designated for honoring fallen soldiers.

"I have attentively observed the series of hate speeches aimed at the Igbo race being disseminated by Reno Omokri on various social media platforms. I am perplexed as to why President Tinubu's government continues to tolerate such a treacherous individual, who seems intent on undermining the Tinubu administration while promoting ethnic and religious bigotry," Igbokwe stated.


He called upon Ohanaeze Ndigbo and Igbo leaders, including state governors, to warn Reno Omokri and his group of ethnic and religious bigots to immediately cease their promotion of hatred against the Igbo race. "Enough is enough," Igbokwe declared.
