It would seem, from the actions of those controlling the levers of power, that there is an attempt to precipitate a national crisis with a view to using force to take over the country. But, of course, this is a country of 200 million people. The advantage those who have a “legitimate” right to bear arms are enjoying at the moment would be lost if there is a total breakdown of law and order. And the country would break into fractions controlled by warlords, such that it would take a miracle to have it again as one stable country for anyone to control.

It is not wise for a person not to learn from his mistake. He should remember that his throne is still in contention and he was removed the first time due to his excessive verbal attack on the former governor.

Your analysis isn’t smart nor economically sound.

You are aware you need forex to prop up your currency if you peg it to dollar.

Imagine your forex is dwindling due to;

A) Low oil output because the previous gov didn’t do much to raise output or bring new investment into the sector.

B) The little forex you have, you returning it back to the owners because you paying subsidy.

C) Lots of debt accrued, to both service debt and meet other financial obligations.

Even if you want to peg your currency, where would you turn to bring in more forex?

What this government has done is smart. Oil production is up, subsidy is gone, so they have more money going to states and for projects.

They plugged the leakages and raised the revenue.

If oil output goes up together with other exports at quick rate, we should see the value of naira rising, and the rise at this moment in time will be sustainable, stable and long term without any costly intervention from Central bank.

Once naira appreciates, fuel prices at the pump will go down, and you should be seeing inflation easing. Right now, government is at the right path.

Please don't tell me you have comprehension problem. You can go back and reread what the Emir said there. He wasn't talking about retention of presidency by the north but was trying to tell the world how Buhari has northernised and fulanised his government. Even said they may just write results from the north and suppressed the results from the south with the way Buhari has strategically positioned northerners in critical places.
Please I want you to go and read again. If you've not been following the emir, you won't understand him because his thought is far higher than a normal or average northerner.

You need to understand the deeper meaning of his message and he is actually vindicating tinubu's reforms as necessary......it's understandable the point he is coming from considering the Kano emirship tussle which he believes the presidency isn't given him what he needs,that said.........he is actually stating that the reforms are necessary and he had propagated same in the past but the govt is doing very poor job in convincing the people about them and doing very bad PR in trying to convince the people to support it.......I would say he is not far from the truth..... tinubu's aides especially from the north are doing a very bad job in selling this govts policies.... shettima is too timid and doesn't seem to be neither here nor there same with all the other appointees from the north,they aren't making the right noises and are rather reactionary than proactive which doesn't augur well for tinubu at all.....el rufai!!
