Let’s assume for a moment that these complex forms cannot be adequately explained by evolutionary processes alone. If that’s the case, the God who created such extraordinary complexity must Himself be unimaginably complex. And complexity, by this reasoning, does not simply arise by chance.

This leads to an important question: Who created God? If all complex existences require a designer, wouldn’t the creator of the sun, stars, and all things need an even greater designer?

Man made god(s) in his image, likeness and thoughts ergo you have god(s) having anthropomorphic features. There's no way for those who claim an opposite stance to hold that stance without resorting to the overly flogged special pleading & infinite regress conundrums.

The OP stated that religionists assume that the exquisite design of the universe must require a creator and thus since the creator is exquisite, then it must require a creator.
He also stated that theists claim god is eternal and thus not created.
The above premises point to a fallacy: Special Pleading
