OP, I will be honest with you. In this present economy, N7 million is not enough to migrate anywhere outside of Africa. It's just enough to travel abroad for a vacation. I would have suggested that you use the Canadian express entry program which is a quick pathway to Canadian citizenship but you don't have the required work experience, skills or qualifications to be eligible for that program. Sociology is a useless course. Let no one tell you otherwise. I am an Immigration lawyer so i know what i'm saying. If your skills/ degree isn't STEM related, it would be difficult for you to Japa abroad. Your best bet is to look for tuition free universities in Europe, improve your skills then move there with the long-term goal of migrating to a "better" country. Otherwise, use that money to improve yourself in Nigeria. JAPA is not for the faint-hearted. My two cents.

Japa is expensive, but if you can save the money and convert it to dollar in a dom account so it won'tlose value, and then try and hustle more. Good luck.

Getting a job that will pay you the way you want is scarce here, teaching jobs are readily available tho . They pay teachers better in the Gambia compared to Nigeria..
then again most companies do internship here with almost 100% assurance u will be retained , think about a business just in case u get here and u are unable to get a job .

Croatia and Australia needs candidates with sociology degree because social works thrives in their country. A friend migrated to Australia recently and he is happy in the country.

most countries are looking for people in STEM not sociology. And yes its currently a useless course unless you acquire extra skills. For the japa there is no viable pathway for you right now. Develop your skills along what is sellable now or in the future abroad

Every business has a learning curve.

If you are entering into a business without experience in that business, as a Nigerian matter, your employees will rip you off.

It does not matter what the business is, you will be ripped off. You have to literally be on ground. It is very unlikely that you can work on trust

A common complaint of farmers everywhere is theft from workers. And if they see you as a soft touch, then it can get really ugly.

Doing business in Nigeria is an extreme sport. Kudos to the likes of Olam, STARLINK and Olatunde. How they do it, I don't know. But kudos nevertheless.

Social work is very lucrative as the social services industry there is really big.

You can start exploring scholarship options for your MSc in social work.

The majority of Nigerian migrants seek economic prosperity. Quality of life isn't on the list. When migrants move into a place, what they seek are jobs - so they earn an income - and later career opportunities to build on their skill set and increase their income. Quality of life isn't a priority.

I have no business with Austrians having a superior quality of life compared to Americans. I am concerned with Nigerians heading out of Nigeria in search of a better life aka economic prosperity.

I guess he is contemplating the Western World (USA, Canada etc) or Eastern World (UAE-Dubai, Japan, China etc). For these Countries it's not possible. What he has is just for One way Air-ticket. Where would he live and eat?

He should remain in Nigeria and invest his money wisely. For example he can invest in farm produce (Maize, Soya, Pepper, Beans etc. He will buy these and wait till May-July and resell his goods. I assure him at least a 30% profit. So in just 3 months he will be talking of having (N7m + N2.8m) = N9.8 million. Alternatively he can go into real farming which will give him at least 100% just in 5 months. With all honesty l am giving him these advices out personal practical experience. He may even get a 130% profit if can keep his produced till May-June or July and sell. So his N7 will become (N7m + N9m) = N16 million within a year. So what Japa will need? None. Nigeria is indeed blessed by enabling him get! Do any of the options and THANK ME LATER.

My brother, the 7m can still take you abroad, infact, about 5m or less can take you to the middle east if you don't mind. To countries like UAE, Saudi, Qatar but na menial jobs like cleaning, bike delivery etc you go take survive, if you not get special skills.
