Jesus!!! what's happening to our southern governors? Tinubu is given us a chance to be out of this traps and you rejecting it by style. This pure selfishness
How is a win for the south, You speak as though corruption is dead ....

Have you wondered why Tinubu generated high revenue as no impact what so ever

Take time out and study the 2025 budget, regardless of how much revenue the govt generate it can amount to substantial growth ...

more money can only mean more money to loot for the governors/politicians without any conmensurate development. why should we care

Good 👍
There is no where the bill states that VAT should be increased now It is in future when things would have been much better.

I like their resolution.
This is the meat:

The meeting supports the continuation of the legislative process at the National Assembly that will culminate in the
eventual passage of the Tax Reform Bills.

They are not having their way because the losers were shouting that the bill should be withdrawn.
They failed.

Zombies Sha. The tax reform bill must be passed even if it's not worth tissue paper

Who told you Nigeria does not have a tax bill before now?
That was the contentious issue again?
I'm sure even that inheritance aspect will be modified silently
Chronic Zombies don't understand simple English that the bill cannot be withdrawn.
It will be passed.
Re: Nigerian Governors' Statement On Tax Reform Bill by IronCondemned: 7:15pm On Jan 16, 2025

This sharing formula is trash. Why sharing by "Population"? This formula should be 50% Equity and 50% derivation. Let states get half of what they generate! Simple!

These northerners want to keep manipulating their population figures. You want populous states to get a share of the vat, but the population remains unproductive. Nigeria is not ready to make progress.

They should go and work for their state. That sharing formula will not work. Let everybody control their resources.

Left to me any state that generates VAT should keep 90% and give 10% to the federal government.

Make everybody go work

Did you actually read the communique very well?
Many people including the journalists don’t seem to have read the communique. The derivation proposal is 60%, what the govs endorsed is 30%.

All they have accepted is to increase derivation to 30% from 20%.
Re: Nigerian Governors' Statement On Tax Reform Bill by ChirstFireAltar(m): 7:51pm On Jan 16, 2025
This is what they should have done since last year instead of ignoring the committee and trying to blackmail Tinubu to back out.
