| Do I Need To Reschedule US Visa Interview Due To The New Website? by demmiereal83(op): 9:17pm On Jan 16, 2025 |
I need assistance regarding my parents’ visa interview. I was able to schedule an interview for both of them early last year using the old website. However, I have since misplaced the interview confirmation, and I am unable to access the old website. I recently learned that a new website is now being used for interview scheduling, and I am unsure if I need to reschedule their interviews on this new platform. I would greatly appreciate any guidance, including the steps I need to take. Thank you! |

You recently learned that a new website is being used? Meaning that you haven't confirmed it. But the next thing is to come to Nairaland to ask. What is difficult in accessing a website? Ha, Na wah!

Use the email address you used in the old website to create a profile on the new website, and you will find the interview reservation moved after a few days if it's not already there |

demmiereal83:To resolve your issue with your parents’ visa interview, follow these steps: 1. Check the Current Platform for Visa Appointment Verify the platform being used for visa appointment scheduling. Most U.S. embassies and consulates now use the CGI Federal website (ustraveldocs.com) for appointment scheduling. If you're unsure, visit the official website of the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in your country to confirm. 2. Create a New Account on the New Website If you haven't already, create a new account on the updated platform. Link the existing MRV fee payment receipt (if applicable) to this account if it’s still valid. The receipt is usually valid for one year from the payment date. 3. Retrieve Appointment Details Try recovering the appointment confirmation using the "Retrieve Application" or "Forgot Password" options on the old or new platform. If the old website no longer works, proceed to the next step. 4. Check Email and Supporting Documents Search your email inbox (and spam folder) for the appointment confirmation email sent when the interview was first scheduled. The confirmation email typically includes the appointment date, time, and location. 5. Contact the U.S. Embassy or Consulate Reach out to the embassy or consulate directly. Explain the situation and provide details such as: Names of the applicants Passport numbers DS-160 confirmation numbers They may assist in retrieving the appointment details or guide you on the next steps. 6. Reschedule If Necessary If the old appointment is invalid or cannot be retrieved, you may need to reschedule the interviews on the new platform. Ensure you have: A valid DS-160 confirmation number for each applicant MRV fee receipt (if still valid) 7. Prepare for the Interview Ensure your parents have all necessary documents, including: DS-160 confirmation pages Appointment confirmation Passports Supporting documents for their visa category (e.g., proof of ties to home country, financial documents, etc.). |
