Remembrance Day: Who Are The Victims, Who Are The Villains by helinues(op): 4:06am On Jan 17, 2025
It's annoying that those who made horrible mistakes in the past are not just interested in being remorseful or sober about it.

The said 1966 coup, who benefited from it, who became the head of state immediately after the coup.

Tribes from almost part of the country celebrated the remembrance day except......

No single tribe ever said something good about those who benefited from the coup, who was in charge after the coup or the people. How is it logical for everyone not to say anything good about you and yet......

The remembrance day issue should rest but those who are villains should stop forming victims..

Victims and villains all lost squarely. Mistrust increased from that period.

After the civil war in 1970, then Head of State, Gen Yakubu Gowon famously proclaimed "no victor, no vanquished" and rigorously pushed for the full integration of Igbos back into Nigeria's polity. This policy continued even after his regime was toppled and subsequent governments both military and civilian had reigned. Everywhere was calm until helinues and his set of evil goons decided that dangerously setting up a new generation of Igbos was the best way to go to promote the achievements of their political party. They know the sole outcome of this thing they're doing and I am sure that they will relish it to the highest level. This is no longer bants, Igbos in that coven should be careful sha, history is replete with the end results of this game being played by the satanists right now cool

Clearly, you guys don't wanna be in the same country. Why not dissolve this union of division? How long will the pretense of one country go on?

Can two walk unless they agree?

More reason why the union should have been dissolved

Pretence? Who are the pretenders here? Those who made everything in the past to look like they never happened and still want to rewrite history about the events others have records of

It should have, and again that blame goes to Nnamdi Azikiwe who bluntly rejected the secession clause in the Nigeria constitution
Re: Remembrance Day: Who Are The Victims, Who Are The Villains by DMerciful(m): 6:57am On Jan 17, 2025
Azikiwe is just one person. We can still do it today. The law is meant for man and not man for the law

That should have been avoided if there wasn't a coup..

Moreover the Civil war was due to Ojukwu's over bloated egos. Why going into a war you are not well prepared for
Re: Remembrance Day: Who Are The Victims, Who Are The Villains by DMerciful(m): 7:10am On Jan 17, 2025
Before the war, they killed 30,000 mostly civilians as reprisals for 20 persons. Is that not enough?

The 30k civilians wasn't a targeted tribe right? It was WAZOBIA
Re: Remembrance Day: Who Are The Victims, Who Are The Villains by DMerciful(m): 7:13am On Jan 17, 2025
It was mostly Easterners or people they perceived as Easterners. The reprisals were disproportionate yet still unsatisfied

Clearly, we can't get over Jan 1966 after 59yrs. So what should be done now?

Stop denying it and take responsibility. That's what's expected from you guys
Re: Remembrance Day: Who Are The Victims, Who Are The Villains by DMerciful(m): 7:55am On Jan 17, 2025
Nzeogwu, Ifeajuna were 30yrs old. Do you know if they even had children who would inherit their fathers sin?

I cannot take responsibility for what happened long before me and of which my parents had no hands in

So because you don't want to take responsibility, is that the reason you are denying it!
Re: Remembrance Day: Who Are The Victims, Who Are The Villains by DMerciful(m): 8:01am On Jan 17, 2025
I'm not denying anything. I am saying the Northerners have more than gotten their pound of flesh in the retaliation they made.

Its enough

Then create a thread about that or what issue are you having with this thread

This thread, alongside Reno and FFK seeks to trigger the North against present day Igbos.

You guys want present day Igbos to pay for what their forefathers more than paid for

Was it only the northerners that was affected in the 1966 coup?

1966 !

This is 2025!

Actions of 30yrs old with youthful exuberance shouldn't travel forever

Is there any big deal in relaying the history on the remembrance day?

?why suddenly start from the coup... Like it was an unprovoked coup

Nothing was happening in Nigeria before the coup happened?

If we must say a story we should endeavor to say the complete story

The issue of the coup stayed in 1964 start the story from the start oga... Don't say have story

Because nothing was happening is that what warranted selected execution?

Hahahah, almost all tribes expressed themselves about the 1966 coup. It's only the Igbo's who have entirely different version of the story.

Except if you are saying only Igbo's account about the history is right and others were drunk
Re: Remembrance Day: Who Are The Victims, Who Are The Villains by DMerciful(m): 8:26am On Jan 17, 2025
We don't need 1966!

If we cannot coexist in 2025, break the union
