The politics thread is now the Igbo vs Yoruba thread.

One cannot make a comment without it being interpreted along tribal lines.

Recently, I made some comments on a post correcting another nairalander about his assumptions on Nzeogwu's origins, his father, etc. I made them in good faith, without thinking about tribal things (and the corrections I made do not change the fact that Nzeogwu did overthrow the government of Nigeria in 1966). First comment quoting me accused me, in essence , of arguing for an Igbo agenda.

Even economic discussions turn into tribal war. Crime pages too...tribal war.
At the end, it isn't worth having discussions at all here.


Anyway.....let them say.

Seun osewa dosn't understand the humongous damage this ethnic slants is doing to his enterprise... It will begin to manifest in no time.. except he quickly puts a check on it. I mean nairaland that used to be highly educative platform where people come to engage and gain new productive knowledge has been suddenly reduced to petty ethnic and bigotry platform where charlatans reign supreme with erroneous distorted schisms..

Politically, the North has forced the nation to accept we have only two zones. North and South.

This has made the major tribes in the south to always try to dominate the national discourse.

What you are seeing is Igbos and Yorubas mocking themselves before the general Hausas to once again become darling of the north for political gains but the north is watching them in amusement.

They will return power to the north if they present an unpopular candidate that they can control in any of the major political parties.

I remember when I first left the shores around 2006, Nairaland was damn addictive and filled with fun and education. People used to discuss affairs without hitting heads. Nowadays so many people here are out to finish this place.

A simple cleansing exercise can do the magic. Seun should personally take a break for a week with whatever he is doing away from here and just declare it a tribal and religious cleansing week.
I’ll also suggest he doesn’t get his mods involved because most of them are worse than the people they’re moderating. At least this will calm nerves. The culprits know themselves.

It is a state sponsored strategy used by the apc to create disunity for selfish political purposes.

From 1999 to 2014, when pdp was on power, no one used ethnic lens to view the criticisms of bat & buhari against the government at the time.

Even when GEJ was called the drunkard from otuoke, nobody accused bat or apc of playing tribal politics.

But if you call bat the drug baron from chicago or buhari the dullard from duara, the state sponsored distractors will turn it that their ethnic groups are being insulted.
