OkayDaddy:the main reason y we are still here today is that Igbos will never own up to their irresponsibility They will never agree they make mistake instead they will want to twist narrative n with that nothing will change Now I know y many said they will prefer to vote a non Nigerian than Igbo Imagine pure hypocrisy, pure insincerity n deny |

![]() Can you believe that at the time Azikiwe did this interview below on the 16th of Jan 1966 Gen Ironsi had not yet taken Power look outside the Window you can see it is broad daylight Listen to Azikiwe Dr Orizu who was the Acting President didn't invite Gen Ironsi to takeover Power until 10 minutes to midnight on that same day (16th of January 1966 ) which couldn't have been less than about 6 hours after Azikiwe gave this interview to the British Press yet Azikiwe was speaking as if Gen Ironsi was already in Power Gen Ironsi didn't take Power until 17th Jan 1966 the next day From his replies you can see that Azikiwe was completely uninterested in finding Prime Minister Balewa who had only been kidnapped and was only missing at the time of this interview and whose body was not found until almost a week later but see how so confident Azikiwe already was that Balewa wouldn't be found alive https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RCD7uQsSU6U?si=_lCuNifvAGEIRXrp |

mrvitalis:Abeg, STFU, jor!!! Wetin concern ibos (from eastern nigeria) with operation wetie in western nigeria? The aim of the coupists (Igbos) was no rocket science. it was simply to grab power at the center which they did but unfortunately, could not hang on to it. |

PHIPEX:Coups are divided into blocks and units Jan 15 1966 coup was divided into A, B and C A was supposed to take control of the capital, also take control of the armoury, tanks and the central structures like the Parliamentary building. B was supposed to intercept the communication and either enlist soldiers support or prevent any military interference during the operation. C was supposed to take care of personalities and symbols either by enlisting, arresting or killing important figures who can rally public support against the coup. Ifeajuna was in charge of A, Chris was in charge of B, Nzeogwu was in charge of C. A performed his part terribly, B was partly successful, C was very successful. Upon seeing the failure of A and part failure of B, this then gave Ojukwu chance to switch to a different coup operation by Aguiyi Ironsi, to stop C. If A was successful, Ojukwu would have never switched sides, even if B was partly successful. |

All Nigerians supported the coup at first until BBC twisted it to an Igbo coup. Again, the specific officers acted on their own, they had zero votes and are dead. Godwin4444: |

NIGERIA have so many dark and secret history. What you see in camera 📷 is far different from what happened behind the cameras. On the context of the NIGERIA history, in many cases, what happened behind the cameras is always the TRUTH. I have read different books and articles about the 1966 coup and counter coup which led to the Civil war. There are a lot of contradictions. I have said it long time ago, that the likes of Yakubu Gowon, Obasanjo, Babagida and Late General David Ejoor who was the person that put a call to General Aguyi Ironsi to inform him about the coup, owe NIGERIANS a lot of UNTOLD HISTORY. These men should tell NIGERIANS their own side of the story before they join their ancestors. They have a lot of secrets in their hands about the past, present and future of Nigeria. |

OkCornel:There was nothing to foil because if A & B did their jobs correctly, Aguiyi Ironsi would have been either dead or he would be alive and would be isolated in such a way that he would not know a coup is happening until it's too late, the fact that he was alive and was informed enough to launch his own coup, meant that A & B failed. You don't plot a coup by keeping the most senior military officer alive and active... Unless he is on your side (that is also risky considering you have nothing to offer him, since he already controls the army and has money and prestige) , he must be on your side and must be the leader of the coup. |
