NNPC seemed to have woken up big time whennT.Pain came in as president. I think T.Pain has the formular to their inadequacy. T.Pain has activated their balls and they are achieving Great feats left and right.

Great news. This is the type of news I desire and pray to be hearing about Nigeria. Development everywhere in every region. We wouldn't complain and abuse the government if things like all these developments are happening as frequent as possible and ofcourse glaringly like something I can see.

Kudos to the government but not a complete Kudos, we still need more development abeg....

It's not a Yoruba name, it is rather
an Ebira name.
In the olden days, our forefathers who were hunters usually see birds called Aja in Ebira language. I don't the name in English, but let me try and describe it.
This particular bird usual flies in the night and usually on the road where people are passing. When it sees humans walking on the road, it would fly ahead and perch on the road waiting for them to move closer before it flies again. You can relate if you lived in the farm before.

Now back to the story. Our forefather usually see this bird Aja perching on the rock, and we call rock Ida and we call to perch "OOku". So, Ajaokuta means the bird Aja perchs on the rock.
That was how Ajaokuta was named.
I hope this helps.
It's suppose to be AJAOOKU then. Where the TA now comes from?

Aja in Yoruba means shelf, usually tall ones

Okura in Yoruba means stone.

Literally, in Yoruba, ajaokuta means, a saving stone. It has several interpretation in Yoruba

You are right! But I think the right word is Ìjà Òkúta-stone fight- which is related to Sàngó. Don’t forget Sango’s mother is from Tapa and he lived there as a child before becoming a King at Oyo Ile which was at the boundary of River Niger. Finally, Sango fights with stones (Edun Ara) til date. Does that not tel us something?

Hmmm, deep.

Aja in this context means fight and stone (Okura) as weapon. Good

Watin concerned tribe in this development? Bigot kowai. You come dey tell lie join am.
Ajaokuta is a combination of Ebira terminology viz; Aja, which means one certain nocturnal bird and okuta is a two term which is 'oku' and uta. Oku is an adjective, meaning landing on something while uta means platform.

Ajaokuta is Ebira language meaning a bird (Aja) lands on a platform.

Thanks for the breakdown of the meaning. It's much appreciated though the word sounds like Yoruba word. I now know this very one belongs to the Ebira people.

All this one you are doing up here is just to confuse yourself the more. Ajaokuta means a place with large settlement of rocks. That is the meaning of Ajaokuta in Yoruba language. That place is called Ajaokuta because it has large settlement of rocks.

The ancient Ebira language have some common meaning with Yoruba language. At Ihima in Ebira land, they have many things with the same meaning in Yoruba. Igalla also have some common meaning with Yoruba language.

I rejoice with them on the implementation of the mini LNG plants. I believe it would speedily facilitate the progress of the Steel project that has drained Nigeria Resources billions of dollars for decades without result.

Also, Senator Akpabio should lobby NNPC to build LNG mini plants close to the Aluminum Smelting plant in Akwa Ibom before the crisis over its ownership is resolved. The last time the company shutdown operations the management blamed it on lack of gas supply to the plant

Lies.

Ajaokuta belongs to igalaland. It means stone-market.
Aja (matket), okuta (stone).

That it was zoned to kogi central doesn't make it an Ebiraland.

Go and learn history.
