My only disappointment is nothing will come out of Lagos State government's investigations. Like up to 10 that has happened in the past, none was concluded. They just wait for everything to die down and everyone moves on like nothing happened.

Sad reality. Hefty sums of money exchanges hands and the regulatory body, the medical examiner conceals the truth, law enforcement looks the other way, another dead child, a victim of negligence and incompetence added to the ever growing list. After a while or almost immediately the culprits are back in business booming on the innocent blood of the dead kids like nothing happened, the lives of the parents will never be the same again as their child meant to outlive them is now no more. Some even develop serious health complications and trauma, heartbroken forever while the rest of the world moves on cos the truth is justice or injustice life must go on.

U pay so much to a school that has no safety standards. This is why standards in all areas must be enforced in not just schools but anywhere people gather or can be vulnerable.

I am often amazed at how parents who endure such trauma manage to appear so composed and calm. It reflects their high emotional intelligence—something I must admit I fall short of possessing.

They appear calm and composed because they mostly do not spend time with their kids.
At home, the maid.

Services offered by creches are very similar to what is being offered by daycares in the west. A lot of working mothers put their babies in creches here same way working mothers put their babies in daycares over there. And yes, there have been incidents where children have died under the care of caregivers in those saner climes.

If women stay at home depending on their husbands men will say they are liabilities that bring nothing to the table.

As in ehn. See them shouting that a 2yrs old shouldn't be in school. On another thread they are telling men not to kill themselves and the wife should go work. Which is not a bad advice. But who stays home with the child? Some parents put these kids in creche to help with their speech and social interraction. Please give women a break. If we sit at home, liability. We go to work, you get blamed for everything that goes wrong.
