Even a medical doctor, what does he want? These yahoo boys are getting sophisticated by the day. May the soul of the deceased rest in peace.
They called your townsman a yahoo boy and you were quick to start believing fulani man news....I pity you these easterners sha....

Even if he was a yahoo boy....is breaking down his house door at night...a justified thing to do?..

Awka is a terrible and unsafe place at this time....kidnappers can pose to be army officers to you....

They need to first prove that the shooter truly knew they were efcc officers and was evading arrest.

Plus...why go arrest the young man without at least going with the local policemen... you can always report and punish the local police officers if they jeopardise the operation afterall

It’s the tragedy of Nigeria.
Illegality upon illegality.

EFCC raid a suspect, like thieves in the night, with no safety gear, no warrant.

Suspect shoots without thinking, with an illegal gun.

Operative gets rushed to hospital, no doctor. A whole govt hospital, 0 doctors and 2 nurses?
The report said the gun was licensed to his father. And that he's not even a Yahoo boy.
The guy can walk away on self defense especially when EFCC had not invited him for questioning and them also did secure a warrant.

May God protect us .

The suspected killer is not even a yahoo boy.
I suggest that the EFCC should review their modules operandi.
That idea of bursting into people's houses in the middle of the night like armed robber's will certainly expose them to danger.
For the suspect, if he gets a good lawyer, this case could end up as a man slaughter case and not murder case.
Rest in Peace to the Officer.

Rugged... I will kpai as much as I can and I will not run anywhere because anyone that breaks into my domain like that is a thief. All na self defense. U come to me like a thief at odd hours of the night or day and expect a warm welcome or worse U break into my domain U will breakout and breakdown. Government registered armed robbers. Kudos to the Doc. Get a good lawyer no level for the bastards.

So where and how did U confirm the doctor to be a Yahoo boy or man? Someone's apartment was broken into by midnight and he defended himself from thieves U are here talking nonsense.

The longer you read, the more it sounds like self-defence. Cos anything goes in Nigeria, they think they can always behave anyhow

He acted in self defense but threw out the gun and went into the ceiling to hide ! Dey play ! When EFCC was breaking into his home , did they fire any bullet at him ? They even identified themselves as EFCC operatives. He will be lucky to get life imprisonment. He murdered a federal operative and attempted to murder another federal operative. He may not escape the death penalty.
Anyone can identify as an EFCC operative trying to break into your house at 3 a.m with no warrant of arrest.

During self defense, what extent of weapon is permissible? Will you not use an available gun simply because it wasn't licensed to you directly?

Sad, it's high time they change their MO, if they continue their gestapo methods of reading homes they will likely lose more officers and men. With the happenings in Anambra of recent, you cannot just bust into people's homes without identification, leave all those stories that they identified themselves, its a big lie
It's suicide raiding Anambra homes with the height of insecurity 😥. More will still die🤷

Because Buhari the nepotistic calamity ensured that 70% of EFCC staff are of Hausa-Fulani extraction
You very correct.

During their last recruitment .Buhari ensured most of the successful candidates where from NorthWest region whether qualified or not. Back then some people complained about it in the News & social media but it fell on deaf ears.

After joining the EFCC they will use influence to work their way to the South where they can operate with impunity to extort money from people. The raid was purely illegal

The new EFCC chairman has a lot to do to reform the organisation.

Mtchwwwww....... But invite politicians for questioning, they are mad.

" They arrived at the General Hospital in Awka but there were no doctors. Only two hospital nurses were around who advised them to look for a private hospital," the top source had narrated further. "

A whole general hospital and no do[/b]ctor is on duty...it is well with Nigeria.
The doctors are in their private clinics making money.

The law of Self Defense states that you give only as much as you receive. You can’t shoot someone that slaps you or attacks you with a knife. It has to be equal and you only shoot WHEN SHOT AT to prove self defense. Let’s not be buoyed by what we watch on Tv. Moreover, the firearm was licensed to the Father and NOT THE SON. Firearms licenses are not transferable and the license states that it’s for “hunting” and not for domestic use so that License theory is in the toilet too. If I were the Doctor, I would’ve fired a warning shot and if I’m shot at, then I can do direct damage but the deed has been done. My condolences to all parties involved. I hope this fiasco doesn’t cause a rift between the Doctors association and the FG. The EFCC on the other hand need to do better in terms of training and retraining of their staff. This was an avoidable fracas.
What of who breaks into your apartment in the middle of the night, or you didn't see it?
That is how you muslims want Israel to fold their hands and die from islamic encroachment.
Everything you guys apply worthless islam to it, that fulani guy died uselessly just like islam.

How will his good lawyer explain the fact that he threw the murder weapon away and hid in the ceiling after committing the offence? The fact that EFCC broke forcefully into his house does not give him the right to shoot at law enforcement agents especially after they identified themselves as EFCC officials. You can’t dictate to EFCC when and how they will operate
My friend just park go one side and let justice system take it's course

What does the fact that the officer is from Sokoto have to do with it ? Are there not officers from Anambra or other eastern states working for EFCC in other parts of the country?EFCC clearly we’re not expecting anybody opening fire on them hence they did not see an issue with going out without bullet proof vests.EFCC is just like any other law enforcement agency. The issue here is why shoot at law enforcement agents especially when nobody shot at you ? Why did you throw the weapon out & hide in the ceiling after murdering a federal agent and attempting to murder a second federal agent? This is no way self defense will hold in any court of law.The officers were on official assignment. You cannot dictate to law enforcement agents when to carry out their duties.
Do the ones outside the east raid people's home like armed robbers, this muslim scallywags.

If you near my house like a thief or kidnapper in odd hours, I'll gun you down at the slightest opportunity. We'll be going to court while you're long gone. You don't raid people's house in the midnight in this time we are in Nigeria.

Mrfeel:
Him hiding in the ceiling or throwing the gun away doesn't make him guilty cause he was acting in self defense, thinking those who broke into his home were kidnappers pretending to be law enforcement officers, kidnappers do wear police uniforms or military uniforms to commit crime

This is an easy case to win
We will see how easy when the case gets to court.

Now that you have understood that it is a LICENCED gun. You MUST again understand that he has the full right to self-defense. Especially given the modus operandi of the so called EFCC operatives. You cannot just barge into anybody's house in the midnight and expect the person to sit idly and welcome you with open arms especially with the high rate of crimes all over Nigeria.

I am sure the govt robbers did not identity themselves to the doctor and even if they did, which is HIGHLY UNLIKELY, there are better ways they could have met with the Doctor. What stops them from picking him up from his working place/hospital if at all they were genuine? I cannot imagine the trauma the family would be in by that time of the night. My heart goes out to them honestly.

With an average lawyer, the doctor will come out from the case. This is a clear case of SELF-DEFENSE!!!
Your bias against EFCC and their modus operandi does not make EFCC illegal. Some Yahoo governors approached the Supreme Court to declare EFCC unconstitutional but the Supreme Court declined.EFCC is a constitutional law enforcement agency and cannot be dictated to as to how they will operate. The officers identified themselves to the alleged Yahoo doctor and they did not fire at him so self defense will certainly not fly in a law court. Moreover him hiding after killing the officer means he was aware of the consequences of his actions and tried to evade arrest. Only a yahoo judge will look at the evidence and think it’s a case of self defense.

Upon arriving there, it was a location with several apartments. So they told the gatemen to point them to the place of the person they suspected
What a disgrace. Is this how professionals operate?? A gateman "pointed" to an apartment and without investigating or surveillance, you just rush in like sheep to harass a citizen. Like armed robbers. In the dead of night! This is breaking and entering and the doctor was well within his rights to defend himself! What rubbish

It is easy to pontificate when you are not the one at the receiving. The east is a hot bed of kidnapping and robbery and with the way it went down, the so called operatives burst into the house like robbers or bandits, so any right thinking person will defend themselves. You want to fire warning shots at people that may be armed and dangerous?

Keep preaching, until it happens to you.
