Tiktok Goes Offline In America by Infotubia9ja(op): 4:48am On Jan 19, 2025
As to today tiktok shuts down and no longer works in America.
Our only source of rapid information has been stripped away from the people of America.

It was great having Tiktok while it last.

App has done more damage than good in some cases, so the ban will definitely have positive effects on society, the extent to which I can't say. FB, YT, and Instagram were still the most used SM apps in the US in 2024 despite the presence of Tiktok, so I doubt Tiktok will be missed much.

It would have been better to ban it in Nigeria, along with other social media platforms, to help our children focus on their studies. Social media is having a detrimental effect on our youth. We may not always notice it, but when you take a closer look, you'll understand.

They (west) always want to control what people would say about their double standards. They were exposed since the beginning of Israel offensives in Gaza and Russian invasion of Ukrain.

America has gone into the dark ages. What a mess of a country. So all those creators and businesses are now gonna lose their source of livelihood because their government can not stand being shamed by China's astronomical rise.

The fact that Trump is the one who set this whole nonsense in motion during his past term and is now acting like he’s about to be the savior is so sinister. There’s nothing evil that man isn’t capable of. If you’re not paying attention to the things he does, you’ll just think he’s a bumbling idiot. But no. Very nefarious man.

Saner climes

Tiktok would have been allowed on one condition, if they would make it an American company.

The whole noise is simply because they couldn't control it to do their bidding and turn it to another propaganda Twitter.

Modified:

Tradepunter2:
That's is the condition they gave tiktok..... Divest or shut down.... They said they will rather shut down than make it an American company..... The Chinese had sinister motive....
Crafteck1:
They don't want American data in Chinese hands, they protect their ctzs, there not like us
Maybe Nigeria should ban Facebook, X, Instagram, Snapchat, Whatsapp - to protect their citizens too

Research before saying nonsense, if America was even serious they wont allow it the first time. American social media giants were all banned in China till today, no Facebook, Instagram, youtube etc none
Re: Tiktok Goes Offline In America by smokinloud(m):
Tiktok will never find salvation under Trump's presidency. Its promotion of Islamism and opposition to Western values are significant concerns. Interestingly, China has banned the app within its borders, citing similar worries about islamism and protectionism. China wants to use the app to tackle and undermine Western values in the US while preventing it in its own territory. I'd advise Trump to consider imposing sanctions on any Western nation that permits the tiktok app within its territory.

Why not ban FB too, it is a platform far worse as it causes depression in our youth.

China did that to the USA a long time ago, so what do you expect? It took the US decades to do same, pathetic. There is no Facebook, no Instagram, no youtube in china all banned more than a decade ago and the ISA allowed Chinese app to strive in the USA unchecked for so long, they would have used reciprocity when China did the same.
