Is Jesus, Jehovah?! by gohf(op):
The question is, is Jesus Yahweh/JHVH?

Now though some go from believing that Jesus is a god to believing that Jesus is God and even as far as proclaim that Jesus is Jehovah, NONE of the first true apostles nor Christ Jesus himself proclaims that Jesus is Jehovah. So the simple answer is NO. Jesus is NOT Jehovah and he is NOT Yahweh, he is NOT YHVH.

One of the basis of the believe that Jesus is God is that he says or uses the phrase, "I AM" which was recorded in Greek eimi, like the example from John 8:58 before Abraham was, I am. And because "I am" is seen as the name of God they assume that well Jesus says "I am" so Jesus is Jehovah God.

The issue with this is that, does it mean every usage of "I am" means "God" or does it mean "Jehovah" but we know that is not true so why is the case different here.
Well when God introduced Himself to Moses He said, I am that I am, but God didn't stop there in Exodus 3:13-15, but goes on and says, tell them I am Jehovah God, God of your fathers, God of Abraham, God of Isaac, God of Jacob. Not three gods but one and the same God, which Jesus never claimed to be, Jesus only said I existed before Abraham and that's the truth.

If "I am" was God's name, in Exod.6.3, God would have said, "I am" but he said, "I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob as God Almighty, though I did not reveal my name, YHVH, to them."

Personally I believe it's sad that due to misunderstanding the third commandments many Jews didn't say the name of God and even banned it from being said but that doesn't mean Jesus took a roundabout part of proclaiming that he is YHVH- Jehovah.

In that same chapter 8 of John
John.8.54 Jesus answered, "If I honor Myself, My honor is nothing. It is My Father who honors Me, of whom you say that He is your God.

Who do the Jews claim is their God, it's YHVH. Now in Hebrew yod is Y or J in English and waw or vav is W or V. So YHWH or JHVH is the same I want us to understand that.

The question is, is Jesus YHVH? Jesus means Jehovah is salvation which is also Joshua, when translated directed from Hebrew and Jesus when translated from Greek. Now neither his name, be it spelling or meaning, is YHVH, Jehovah. So why then do people believe that Jesus is Jehovah?

Let's go into some of their "scripturally proofs" that make some believe that Jesus is Jehovah?

Teaching us how to pray, Jesus said, Holy is your name. Not Holy is my name or the name. God's name is sanctified, is hallowed, Matthew 6:9

What does it mean to pray? It means to call upon the name of the Lord.

The first time we come across this in the bible is in Gen.4.26 Seth also had a son, and he named him Enosh. At that time men began to call on the name of the LORD.

That means from the beginning there were those who called upon God, so when God said to Moses that he didn't reveal himself or appear by his name YHVH to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. It means there is a purpose by which God reveals himself in that name and there was no need to do so for Abraham and Isaac and Jacob. And I believe that purpose is salvation.

God reveals himself as YHVH to save the people of Israel from bondage, and I believe from Enosh, people called on the name to be saved. With this understanding this brings us to the book of Romans and what is written in chapter 10.

Yes
Re: Is Jesus, Jehovah?! by gohf(op):
Before we continue I want us to note and understand that because the Jews whenever they read the scriptures when they come to the phrase YHVH they say Adonai instead.

So a jew reading Psalm 110:1 would read as it in English as, The Lord said to my Lord, "Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool." Meanwhile the text written states YHVH said to my adonai but you will hear is Adonai said to my adonai.

So when Jesus said, in Matthew 22:44, Mark 12:36 and Luke 20:42 but all three records which pose the same question from Jesus records after that question Jesus rebukes the teachers of the law, and I understand because when most people hear it, they ask themselves questions, kurios says to kurios, how many are there, is he speaking to himself but then the teachers say, o the second kurios is the son of David. So Jesus asks, how can he be David's Lord and son at the same time?

Notice that Jesus asks the question after he reveals that there is only one God whom we should love. To recognize God is also to recognize and acknowledge His son. If a king calls another king, it means that king is higher than he is and that's what David says here that YHVH gives us a Lord who becomes our Lord and ruler, so the Messiah isn't under David but superior to David who they believe was their greatest king.

Jesus was called son of David in the gospels, in reference to being the Messiah the one to inherit the throne of David forever but based on that he is higher than David and someone who exists before David, he can't actually be his biological son.

The teachers of the law then had a partial and mixed understanding of scripture and I hope we as well do not.

Now I mentioned Romans 10.13 For "whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved."

Some believe that the name here is Jesus

Even Peter was the first person to quote from Joel 2 when he preached his first message recorded in Acts 2, Acts.2.21 And it shall come to pass That whoever calls on the name of the LORD Shall be saved.' (NKJV)

Quoting Joel 2:32 and anyone who calls on the name of JHVH will be saved.

Joel wrote before the verse Peter started quoting from
Joel.2.27 Then you shall know that I am in the midst of Israel: I am the YHVH your God And there is no other. My people shall never be put to shame.

There is only one YHVH God, now did Peter and Paul call Jesus YHVH?

Peter after saying Lord meaning YHVH speaks about God endorsing Jesus, infact Peter calls Jesus a man accredited and appointed by God. Acts 2:22
Then he mentions David's prophecies which are actually about Jesus and not David then Peter quotes from Psalm 110:1, The LORD said to my Lord, to prove that Jesus whom he said is at the right hand of God was prophecied by David to ascend to God's right hand. Now Peter gives this conclusion
Acts.2.36 "Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ."

Now from this conclusion is it LORD, YHVH, or Lord, Adonai that Peter refers to as Jesus.

Many times some have come at me saying that because I believe that Jesus is Lord therefore I believe that Jesus is God and me saying Jesus is NOT God is a contradiction. And after listening to some of them, I came to understand that they believe that LORD is the same as Lord. That Jehovah is Adonai, now ofcourse our Jehovah is Lord but Lord is a title, YHVH is God's name.

You can use someone's title in place of their name. O Apostle, good day Prophet, my Lord, my King, your Majesty. Titles of leadership and rules. But Apostle is not someone's name, it's a title (someone can bear it as a name, after
all 'kings' is also some people's name)

Peter wrote God made Jesus Lord and Messiah and continues as Luke writes,
Acts.2.38 - Peter replied, "Each of you must turn from your sins and turn to God, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Acts.2.39 - This promise is to you and to your children, and even to the Gentiles--all who have been called by the Lord our God."

Turn to God he baptized in the name of Jesus, receive the promise given by the Lord, YHVH, our God.

Now to Romans 10

One of our major issues is the Greek language, it is clear these men were Hebrews, Jews and that they knew their language and Jesus spoke Hebrew so how come the claim that all the manuscripts are in greek.

Most of the lies we believe developed strong roots in about 300AD, where the corrupters of the truth wage war and won. Even in Acts the believers were called followers of the Way, and not Christians, a term that appears only once in all of the new testament in Acts 11:26.

How highly educated was Peter, John and the rest to write in Greek, you may say someone wrote for them seeing as they may not even be able to write in Hebrew but that would mean you don't understand how Jews raised their children, their strict educational upbringing and how they read scrolls in their synagogues. Many memorize texts as well.

Satan is subtle and subtle changes are not easy to notice till it completely corrupts perception of the truth.

That's why I will always say, the best gift we have is the Holy Spirit given to us by Jesus that can never be corrupted, to help us understand what is written and what is true.

Romans 10, Paul begins by expressing his desire for the Jewish people to be saved because they were clinging to the mosaic laws and rejecting God's way of righteousness, which is that Christ has fulfilled the purpose of the law and anyone who believes in me is made right with God, so righteousness that comes from faith in Jesus and not one from obeying the mosaic laws.

Then Paul quotes from Deuteronomy 30, which is unique in that Moses say that a time will come when YHVH will cleanse(circumcize) their hearts and they will obey the voice of YHVH and fulfill all the commandments, for this command is not difficult for it is close to your lips and heart so that you can do it. Meaning you will be enabled to obey easily. While Moses says he presents them life and death, but he says YHVH is life, choose Him, love and obey Him.

Why is this background important, well it's because of the corrupted version of the term "word of faith" the word is not from you but from God, the word, the message of faith we which is not positive confessions but Jesus Christ.

Even Paul wrote the word of faith: Rom.10.9 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. (NIV)

It is to accept what God has said and done.

So in your heart you believe what God did and with your mouth you confess it. And not in your heart you believe what you want God to do and with your mouth confess it

So to confess the word of testimony, the word of faith, is to testify that Jesus the son of God was raised by God from death to life.
Re: Is Jesus, Jehovah?! by gohf(op):
Rom.10.11 - As the Scriptures tell us, "Anyone who believes in him will not be disappointed. "
12 - Jew and Gentile are the same in this respect. They all have the same Lord, who generously gives his riches to all who ask for them.
13 - For "Anyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

Where does scripture say verse 11; Paul had already quoted Isaiah 28:16 in Romans 9:33, Jesus the cornerstone whoever rests on him/believes him will not be put to shame.

Now, if I said the same Lord mentioned here is God, whom Jesus said sends rain on all, like I showed already from Joel and Peter that Romans 10:13 is referring to YHVH and not Jesus, Would you believe?

You know Jesus himself said, in Matt.7.22 On judgment day many will tell me, 'Lord, Lord, we prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles in your name.' but he will deny those workers of Iniquity that he doesn't know them, if calling Jesus Lord will not save you then what will.

It is because salvation was never tied to calling Jesus Lord, but in confessing that God made Jesus Lord.

Who knows, they may even been calling Jesus Jehovah Jehovah and get denied all together because they deny the Father who is Jehovah and commit idolatry and iniquity by calling a man God. Instead of obeying Jesus and obeying God's commands.

How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” Romans 10: 14 - 15

Now you would imagine that well we have to believe that Jesus is Lord, we have to call upon the name of the Lord, which is Jesus, but the Jews whom Paul is addresses and making quotes from scriptures would understand that the Lord we call upon his name is not Jesus, according to Joel is not Jesus.

Paul then quotes from Isaiah: Therefore my people will know my name; therefore in that day they will know that it is I who foretold it. Yes, it is I.” How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, “Your God reigns!” Isaiah 52: 6 - 7. Who is speaking here, Isaiah 52:4 The Adonai YHVH.

And then Paul quotes from Isaiah 53 which is about the Messiah, Isa.53.1 Who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed?

Not everyone welcomes the gospel, but faith comes by hearing what Christ said.

And we know Jesus Christ preached the gospel and revealed the Father, so through Jesus Christ the name of God is preached and proclaimed that men may be saved.

John.17.6 "I have manifested Your name to the men whom You have given Me out of the world. They were Yours, You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word.

Paul a Jew who knew YHVH asked, who are you Lord?
Acts.9.5 And he said, "Who are You, Lord?" Then the Lord said, "I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. It is hard for you to kick against the goads."

Now Paul was later told that God had chosen him to know His will and to see His righteous one and to hear him and proclaim the message all over and what does Paul proclaim,
Acts.9.20 Immediately he preached the Christ in the synagogues, that He is the Son of God.

Now how come some then say that Paul proclaims that Lord Jesus is God?

Prov.18.10 The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.

And many believers are taught that the name of the LORD is Jesus. Now imagine when you read

Prov.18.10 The name of YHVH is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.

There has to be a reason why Jesus who never claimed to be Jehovah God is seen as Jehovah God

John 20:31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.

Acts 10:43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believe in him shall receive remission of sins.

IS jesus Jehovah?
The answer is Yes.
John 1v1 clearly declared that Jesus is God.

Jesus referred to himself as the I AM.

John 8:58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.

Thomas didymus.
John 20:28 And Thomas answered and said unto him, My LORD and my God.

Paul referred to christ as the one Lord
1 Corinthians 8:6 But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.

The pharisee wanted to kill Jesus for making himself God.

John 10:33 The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.

Paul referred to Jesus christ as our saviour and great God.
Titus 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

1 Timothy 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

Without believing in this great God that manifested In the flesh one can not be saved.
Salvation on the name of Jesus alone.

scripture has already prophesied that false teachers like you will rise.

2 Peter 2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

1 John 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

2 Timothy 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. 3:6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, 3:7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. 3:8 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith. 3:9 But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was.

😂🤣 because I said Jesus is not Jehovah, Jesus is the way to YHVH.
Heresies about God is that you claim God lied and that He isn't the Sovereign God but there are two others equal gods to him
2Pet.2.2 - Many will follow their evil teaching and shameful immorality. And because of them, Christ and his true way will be slandered.
2Pet.2.3 - In their greed they will make up clever lies to get hold of your money. But God condemned them long ago, and their destruction is on the way.

You collect and claim to pay tithes God never asked nor commanded you for, making up clever lies with scripture to enrich yourself -windows of heaven will up not treasures you expect but a flood to destroy those who lie against God and use his name in vain.

1John.4.2 This is the way to find out if they have the Spirit of God: If a prophet acknowledges that Jesus Christ became a human being, that person has the Spirit of God.

But you all claim Jesus is God and was God and not a human, you lie that he became both God and human, but here is states that Jesus became human.

1John.4.5 - These people belong to this world, so they speak from the world's viewpoint, and the world listens to them. (6) - But we belong to God; that is why those who know God listen to us. If they do not belong to God, they do not listen to us. That is how we know if someone has the Spirit of truth or the spirit of deception.

They told there are three gods you believed, yet when the true God speaks to you through us, you refuse to listen because you do not know Him.

You have rightly quoted, 2Tim.3.8 And these teachers fight the truth just as Jannes and Jambres fought against Moses. Their minds are depraved, and their faith is counterfeit.

For their own gains but to the end their destruction, they withstood him who God has chosen, trying to lead the people to destruction with their lies. But you see Paul was even clearer about such people

Yes, and everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. But evil people and impostors will flourish. They will go on deceiving others, and they themselves will be deceived. 2 Timothy 3:12-13

Now because you are excelling in your evil ways and believe doesn't mean you are right, but the more you deceive others to go against God's word the more you deceive yourself as well

2Tim.4.3 - For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to right teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever they want to hear. (4)- They will reject the truth and follow strange myths.

Have you all not rejected the truth that Jesus is the son of God, God's faithful, righteous and true servant but believe and follow strange stories and myths, calculations and formulations of men, fables of gods, and a god the son.

Are you not supposed to learn from scripture

and if the sign or wonder spoken of takes place, and the prophet says, “Let us follow other gods” (gods you have not known) “and let us worship them,” you must not listen to the words of that prophet or dreamer. The Lord your God is testing you to find out whether you love him with all your heart and with all your soul. It is the Lord your God you must follow, and him you must revere. Keep his commands and obey him; serve him and hold fast to him. That prophet or dreamer must be put to death for inciting rebellion against the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt and redeemed you from the land of slavery. That prophet or dreamer tried to turn you from the way the Lord your God commanded you to follow. You must purge the evil from among you. Deuteronomy 13: 2 - 5

Yet you follow the said evil willingly because of the signs and wonders you lust after. If you will not turn to the one true God through his son Jesus Christ who will save you?!

John 20:31 that you may believe that Jesus is the son of God and not that you should believe that Jesus is God.

But where will your lies end, when will the deceit be finished, it will be after the false Christ has been revealed and accepted then Jesus Christ appears in God's glory and destroys it.

how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him. He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one whom God appointed as judge of the living and the dead. All the prophets testify about him that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.” Acts 10: 38 - 43. And yet though Peter says God anointed Jesus, he doesn't add the heresy that and Jesus became God or he healed because he was God in the flesh, what he said is God was with him. God gave the son of man power to forgive sins. and because even the levitical priests could do so, he being greater and our high priest is more than capable to take away our sins.

The one called son of God is not god the son, God made Jesus Lord and not god the son, whoever is god the son is an associate of darkness, claiming to be God, the false christ coming to the world.

Jesus is Almighty God.

Revelation 1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

Revelation 1:11 Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.

Revelation 22:13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.

you ignore the teachings of the truth to hold fast to your false beliefs that a man who was the servant of God and God's son is God himself. The reason you reject the truth is because you are not chosen by God and such knowledge is not for you
it is very easy to deceive the likes of you

“How long will you who are simple love your simple ways? How long will mockers delight in mockery and fools hate knowledge? Repent at my rebuke! Then I will pour out my spirit to you, I will make known to you my teachings. But since you refuse to listen when I call and no one pays attention when I stretch out my hand, since you disregard all my advice and do not accept my rebuke, I in turn will laugh when disaster strikes you; I will mock when calamity overtakes you— when calamity overtakes you like a storm, when disaster sweeps over you like a whirlwind, when distress and trouble overwhelm you. “Then they will call to me but I will not answer; they will look for me but will not find me, since they hated knowledge and did not choose to fear YHVH. Since they would not accept my advice and spurned my rebuke, they will eat the fruit of their ways and be filled with the fruit of their schemes. For the waywardness of the simple will kill them, and the complacency of fools will destroy them; but whoever listens to me will live in safety and be at ease, without fear of harm.” Proverbs 1: 22 - 33

MUMU post.

Is Jesus Christ the author of Revelation 1:1,8,11?
Who owns the message of Revelation 1:1,8,11 & gave that message to Jesus?

Can't you see the hierarchical structure in Revelation 1:1?

For instance,
Steep gave janosky letter for the Staff working for Steep.
When Janosky reads the portion of the letter that says "I am coming quickly".

Is Janosky himself "coming quickly?"

Jesus Christ can NOT usurp ho Theos (the God) his Superior.
Oga, please allow your brain to function nau.

Very correct.

John 8:24,28 Jesus confirmed "I Am the Messiah".
Jesus further said he can't do anything on his own initiative.
Why would Jesus (the Trinitarian I Am) take Orders from another Being in heaven @ John 8:24,28?

Jesus debunks the Trinitarian misinterpretation of John 8:58 at verses John 8:24,28 & Luke 22:70.

1 John 4 the Living Bible

[1] Dearly loved friends, don’t always believe everything you hear just because someone says it is a message from God: test it first to see if it really is. For there are many false teachers around,
[2] and the way to find out if their message is from the Holy Spirit is to ask: Does it really agree that Jesus Christ, God’s Son, actually became man with a human body? If so, then the message is from God.
[3] If not, the message is not from God but from one who is against Christ, like the Antichrist you have heard about who is going to come, and his attitude of enmity against Christ is already abroad in the world.
[4] Dear young friends, you belong to God and have already won your fight with those who are against Christ because there is someone in your hearts who is stronger than any evil teacher in this wicked world.
[5] These men belong to this world, so, quite naturally, they are concerned about worldly affairs and the world pays attention to them.
[6] But we are children of God; that is why only those who have walked and talked with God will listen to us. Others won’t. That is another way to know whether a message is really from God; for if it is, the world won’t listen to it. shocked 😀😁 grin cheesy

we shouldn't get tired of the truth because the lies of the devil are leading many astray into destruction.

Rom.1.25 who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

2John.1.7 There are a lot of smooth-talking charlatans loose in the world who refuse to believe that Jesus Christ was truly human, a flesh-and-blood human being. Give them their true title: Deceiver! Antichrist! (MSB)

"Look at my servant, whom I strengthen. He is my chosen one, and I am pleased with him. I have put my Spirit upon him. He will reveal justice to the nations.

He will be gentle--he will not shout or raise his voice in public. He will not crush those who are weak or quench the smallest hope. He will bring full justice to all who have been wronged. He will not stop until truth and righteousness prevail throughout the earth. Even distant lands beyond the sea will wait for his instruction."

This is what God Jehovah says— the Creator of the heavens, who stretches them out, who spreads out the earth with all that springs from it, who gives breath to its people, and life to those who walk on it: “I, the LORD, have called you in righteousness; I will take hold of your hand. I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people and a light for the Gentiles, to open eyes that are blind, to free captives from prison and to release from the dungeon those who sit in darkness. Isaiah 42: 1 - 7

If you believe anything conflicting against
1 John 5:5 , John 20:17,31 & John 3:16,36,you are wasting your precious time.

John the apostle never put Jesus on same pedestal of his God & Father at anytime.
